  1. The people who take part in Pride March in those countries where LGBTQ rights are violated or ignored have all my respect and my admiration. They show courage and give back the true meaning of the event. They are real freedom fighters. In North America, Pride March has unfortunately become for too long only a pretext for showing off months of work at the gym.

its not just a good song, its a great song and among the best on this album. The fact that a line is repeated many times doesn't diminish the greatness of the song, actually its one of the reasons why the song works so well. See Extreme Occident central chant "Life Is a Circle". I think Batuka also sounds like an African chant and thats one of the reasons why it is so powerful.

I finally listened to the three bonus tracks from the Euro deluxe edition. They're OK, though they don't wow like some of the others. Some nice sounds, though.

Personally, I consider that they are perfectly in their place as bonus tracks. unlike MDNA and Rebel Heart where bonus tracks were sometimes better than some songs on the album, this is not the case here.

return for a new one or a refund

all that money and then it's damaged

I'm in Canada. It would cost me a postage fee back to the US. So I'm going to keep it that way and write to them complaining about their poor customer service (that will not change anything, but at least I'll have told them)

Madonna is not going to be nominated for a VMA or for Album Of The Year at the Grammys. Nor will she be performing at the VMA’s. And nor should anyone here want her to do so. The last thing she needs is Twitter blowing up at the slightest misstep or ‘offensive’ comment she makes if she dares to speak.

Does she deserve an album of the year nomination with Madame X? I would say absolutely. Especially with the dire state of pop music right now. She dared to do something FAR different than anyone else out there and while she got favorable reviews, she still got her fair share of unnecessary eye rolls. ‘Ohhh Madonna’ is what critics seemed to say while praising the album.

It’s fine. Erotica wasn’t nominated for a god damn thing and it’s all of a sudden become this early 90’s critical darling. Her work is easy to dismiss upon its release for some critics as self indulgent or scattered or clunky or not cohesive enough or any other phrases or words that are popular at the time. But it’s far more difficult to dismiss her albums as time goes on when people look back and realize that she wasn’t appreciated for putting herself on the line and taking risks that other pop stars don’t take.

I suspect this era will be looked at as turing point in her career the same way Erotica was. An album that wasn’t mainstream but set the precedent of what it means to be a pop star at 60.

    This.

More than ever, the nominations for those awards shows are a combination of advertising investment, popular success and industry appreciation. Madonna no longer has the industry and the GP on her side. It is therefore illusory to think that she will receive a mark of appreciation from these awards show that she did not receive in her glory days. As for VMAs, we are in 2019, this awards show is not important for a very long time and is aimed at an audience of 25 y.o. and under. It would have no positive promotional impact.

The fact that some male homosexuals think that this looks "fat" or "out of shape" says more about their own body issues than anything to do with Madonna herself.

Please don't throw your own body dysmorphic shit and unrealistic expectations of what female "beauty" or "fitness" is supposed to be on Madonna (or any woman, for that matter). We are not here for that in 2019. Thanks.

    THIS.

  7. Seriously, some of you should stop following Madonna for a year and go stans for any of the current pop singers. It will allow you to learn what it means to be stiff, to sing badly and not to be entertaining. Maybe you can come back to this forum later and appreciate what she still offers us 37 years in the business.

    +1

Madonna is closer to David Bowie than MARIAH or CELINE in every possible way.

Plant that fact in your head so that you can stop grieving foolishly (and dragging other fans to share your sorrow too) over low views, low streaming numbers, low sales, low airplay, receiving no acclaims from corrupted critics, no awards (Bowie won just ONE FUCKING GRAMMY), I wish I could fucking slap everyone here so that you wake the fuck up to accept her cult status now.

Oh fuck the shammys. It will be a snub. Or she’d end up having multiple nominations and not win but the least important one. It’s best not to have any expectations.

    This.

Some of you are still creating expectations that will not materialize in reality. No matter the quality of the album, the Grammys will continue to snub her.

I think he is definitely outspoken and speaks his mind regularly, which considering how a lot of his fans are Trump supporters is quite impressive.

Having said that, he is still making music that would appeal to people who bought his albums in the 70s and 80s.

Madonna's music is light years away from where it was. And that is probably the reason why.She keeps moving forward, and a lot of her fan base has just stayed behind in the 80's, then the 90's, and finally in the 00s. Her hardcore fanbase has probably been the same since Hard Candy.

I'm so happy that she continues her career this way because I prefer quality and originality instead of nostalgia act, but let's be realistic: she has lost the casual fans and the GP since MDNA and they will not come back. If she had wanted to keep them, she would have produced a COADF-part 2 or traditional pop songs inspired by 80s sounds (thank god it's not what she did!) and she would manage her important repertoire so as to keep it fresh in people's memories (her biggest mistake in career is not doing it). GP over 45 do not listen to the kind of music she are currently producing. The only moment she will recover some casual fans is if she makes a farewell tour with her greatest hits in a few years.

Bruce is an incredible artist as is Madonna. Respect. ✅

Exactly. Those of you who feel compelled to spend your frustrations by disrespecting one of the great American songwriters, you are ridiculous. When you have a 45-year career behind you with several classic albums, you can come and present your personal tastes as facts, but not before that.

Seriously, the culture of stans that disrespect any artist who is not Madonna is not worthy of a person over 15 year. Furthermore, it is the same people who complain about the bias of Pitchfork's "writer" who has disrespected Madonna because he is a Lambs.   🙄
