  1. You can be sure there will be lots of local celebrities there... Feb 25 is a fitting "HOLIDAY"

I'll be really really curious to see how the Philippine media reacts to Holy Water/Vogue...I spent most of my teen years in the Philippines,of course attended a Catholic high school,so it should interesting!

  2. Do you guys remember when she was on Ellen for the MDNA tour and she said the show started late because she was so busy just preparing for the show and for how brutal it was?

Well I guess one reason she actually starts on time this tour is the lack of all those preparation because the choreography isn't as intense!

    Just my little conspiracy theory

Yep and she said she was superstitious about making every technical aspect working perfectly backstage(the elevating stages, the motel stage, etc). While they're fun and they have their place,I'd rather have her focus more on the music this time around

Guy was probably alerted to all the complaints on Ticketmaster for MDNA

  3. Mahalo!Kapono is so cute :)

Those who are complaining she's taking a slower pace, did you ever consider it's purely intentional in terms of taking things into a different direction? She did say months before the tour she wanted to create more INTIMATE shows and she perfectly achieved just that.

And aren't Deeper&Deeper,Music,Candy Shop,LAV,and the pole routine in Holy Water/Vogue...aren't those 'energetic& physical' performances

My only complaint is the absence of Joa and GT :(

  4. Coad was perfection at the time, in combination with the tour.

but HC has the lasting power. dont know why exactly. but some very strong tracks ; she s not me/devil/dance 2nite

I remember my first time hearing She's Not Me and Incredible and hating them so much but now they're some of my faves from HC,it genuinely does have that lasting power...COAD,with the exception of Hung Up and GT,is sooooo light and so easily skip~able now :(

  5. I disagree. The message of BIM (and most rebel tracks) has a lot to do with her as a 56 year old pop star. BIM wouldn't have made any sense if it were a 28 year old Madonna singing it. The rebel side of this campaign is basically her just "playing" the age cards and INTENTIONALLY causing strong reactions. She could've sung something transparent like "I'm a 56 year old hag who still loves to party! I fight ageism unapologetically!" to make sure that the dumbest person on earth can understand her message, but that's just not the way Maodnna conveys her art. She doesn't preach, she provokes. It really is just the same situation with the Erotica era of which her message didn't become clear and understood by most people until decades later. You may think I'm overanalyzing but if you read her Rebel Heart interviews (the ones she did before the era started), she talked a lot about ageism, which makes me think that "age" was an important element on the rebel songs, she just didn't make it very explicit.

    Yes,yes & yes!

Tony also answered a few question in the comments:

ahmalm91 Hey tony whats your favorite section? I know that we know nothing but i mean cant u like tease us a bit more haha

super_hero_tony@ahmalm91 right now Section 4. There is a clue in "To Wong Foo, thanks for everything Julie Newmar" when Noxzema finds the PERFECT costume. I feel the same way.

Anyone familiar with this movie ? All I know is that Noxzema is played by Wesley Snipes and the clothes they find are vintage '60''s ???

Not 100% sure if I remember but the dress Wesley Snipes finds is either a feathery one or a sparkly one lol,God I hope the movie is on Netflix...they also had some 'Wild Red Strawberries' theme fashion runway at the end

  7. Oh God, the "Rain" video. This was my white whale back in the pre-YouTube age.

Like I said earlier, I became a fan in 1994 as she rolled out "I'll Remember," "Secret," and "Take a Bow." The first M album I bought was "Something to Remember."

I was radicalized when "Frozen" hit the radio years later. My scant mid-90s offerings were no longer enough -- I needed to consume everything she'd ever done, and FAST. I nicked my mother's old copy of "Deeper and Deeper" first chance I got. Loved it.

Then, in the run-up to the "Frozen" video premiere, she seemed to be on TV non-stop. MTV and VH1 had video marathons, TV specials new and old, and even re-broadcast concerts.

(Quick aside: I think it was around this time that VH1 re-aired The Girlie Show -- the first Madonna concert that I ever saw. To this day, I vividly recall watching TGS with the boy from next door, who I had a terrible crush on -- I thought he was so cute. All the kids in my high school said he was gay, so I started hanging out with him non-stop because I wanted desperately to make out with him. Anyway, he was there watching with me and he was so bored that he left. But I didn't give a F the boy I was crushing on left -- I was in love with this woman and had to watch this concert.)

Anyway, in the run-up to the "Frozen" video premiere, I think it was during VH1's weekly show where they counted down the top 10 videos of the week that they played a quick montage of the queen's old videos, with the VJ voicing over them like "She's always shocked and entertained us, so be sure to catch her new video's debut on MTV next week" or some shit like that. During the montage they played a clip of "Rain" and it was just so mesmerizing. But they didn't say what the video was or even play the music from the song in the background. I had no idea what it was, but I desperately wanted to see the whole thing. It took me months (maybe years) to finally see the video in some Madonna marathon, and I remember being so fucking excited to finally see this video -- and to learn what song it was for! -- that I probably screamed.

"Rain" will always hold a special place in my heart for that long search.

Excuse me, gotta go change my avatar to a "Rain" screenshot now.

    Love Mid 90s Madonna :)

  8. Bedtime Stories/Something To Remember was my intro to Madonna songs...my mom was a causual fan

I discovered Ray of Light about a year after it was released and started to explore some of her previous work...I was 11 or 12

The 1999 VMA tribute Sept 9,1999(9.9.99) was probably the moment I realized this woman was truly iconic and really made me want to explore all her work

MUSIC Era was the first Era I was on the same wavelength as other fans, bought the cassette and CD once it was released
