The fact that a the age of 60, with her 14th album, 36 years into her career, she is giving us her what is shaping up toĀ be her most diverse, bold and unique album is just mind blowing. Pop, Reggae, Disco, Trap, House, Latin, R&B, Ballads, Nutcracker sample and god know what else. Vocal styles that are completely new for her, song structures that go off the beaten path, production from minimalist to completely overboard. Nobody even comes close! Friday should be a worldwide holiday to celebrate her brilliance!

  2. I totally get the excitement of new Madonna music, and people wanting to hear it, and don't feel smug at all about not listening to the leaks. I simply want to wait till the release date to listen to the album as a whole. Take a couple of hoursĀ of my day and take it all in.

The only thing I would ask of people who spot leaks is to please report them... Especially if these are like full songs, even if in low quality. We are very close now to release date.

I reversed the opening reversed lyric by Madonna. Sheā€™s saying ā€œand I rather be alone, and I rather be alone, lone, loneā€. Itā€™s just the beginning of her of the lyric in the song. When they reverse it it has the Arabic vibe ā€”Ā Iā€™m obsessed with lyrics I needed to know what she was saying šŸ˜‡

So cool. Thank you for that.

if we're talking about just a few days, which at this point is all it would be, i think releasing the album on streaming and digital early would have a bigger negative impact on first-week sales than the leak itself would.

Yes, that a really good point, and it could have the opposite effect as you say.

No it won't be a smart moveļ»æ. They should stick to their guns but work to minimise leaks and shut them down.ļ»æ

I totally share that view. Her team should be very much on top of it all to spot any leaks early on... And they seem to be. I just think that if it leaked in full, you know how the internet is and how things spread like fire... So if that came to happen, by making the album officially available on streaming and digital platforms, that would deviate the attention from the leak, and people would go listen to the official release instead.

I wrote to Guy Oseary asking this, but he probably doesnā€™t read comments on his insta. Either way, he should be smart enough to consider this without us having to desperately leaveĀ comments... but history shows itā€™s not always the case...Ā

Not sure about Guy, but M's team seem to be much more on top of things. Hopefully someone will think of that... Because it would be the smartest decision to minimise a full leak.

  7. Does anyone have a senseĀ of the number of tickets sold for the US shows? That should give us a rough figure of the number of albums just from the tour bundle.

EDIT: Just found the answer to my question in the album sales thread - thank you @trevorhog

I did some rough calculations and all the US dates consist of around 126,000 people (if sold out -and it will)... So that is 126,000 redeemable copies of Madame X, and if we assume 3/4 of people redeem it, that would be around 95,000 copies that come from the tour.

Thanks for your advice lol andĀ I agree hahaĀ

Its a great achievement! And it shows. Spotify has over 30 million listens and the album is not even out yet.Ā

However, if it does leak, Iā€™m hoping for an earlier release on digital platforms. It would be a smart thing to do! Because otherwise people will rush to download the leak.Ā

That would be a very smart move actually. If it does indeed leak in full, M's team should immediately move to make it available in digital format on itunes, spotify, etc. That would minimise the impact of the leaks, and she wouldn't lose the sales of the physical copies for the week of release which have already been pre-ordered.

    Oh yes it does indeed!

The whole song sounds like it will be epic. It screams single to me. (Sorry for thinking old skool)

We most definitely willĀ get another two singles/videos.

One looks likely to be God Control, filmed in LA in a theatre with the drag queens. The other looks like it will be Batuka, which also had a video shot in a Portuguese beach with the Batukeiras.

So much amazingness still to come!Ā šŸ™ŒĀ This will be an era for the ages.

I think and hope you're right, unfortunatelyĀ  unlike Like a Prayer or Ray of Light, the general public won't be aware of it or even that she still makes new music.Ā  The PR campaign has been "rough" at best.Ā  The PR campaign for Rebel Heart was much better and none of the GP is aware of that album

Madame X should be everywhere, talk show spots playing different characters, Netflix special, major fashion magazine covers etcĀ

@Samo, I get your point, but I disagree, and ultimatelyĀ I couldn't care less aboutĀ the GP,Ā who are the first to jump on her and accuse her of the most awful things at every opportunity. Art and creativity stand the test of time, and this record is just further cementingĀ Madonna's place in musicĀ history books as a unique legend and creative force.

Of course I would want for people to know Madonna has a new record out, for people to recognise howĀ amazing the music she is creating almost 40 years into her career is, but at the end of the day, all it matters are the fans, those who have been with her in the good and bad moments, those who stand by her when she is unjustly attacked or vilified, those who hold Madonna deeply in their hearts, those who truly 'get' Madonna, who she is, what she stands for, and what she represents to all of us.Ā

Madonna has been releasing music for 4 decades, and despite many challenges put in front of her, she always comes out stronger. Even at this stage in her career, she remains a talking point in cultural discourse, and will continue toĀ until she wishes to stop.Ā

Finally, as for the PR campaign which you called 'rough', I couldn't disagree more. In no way the campaign for RH was better - just different -Ā and to make a statement like 'none of the GP is aware of the album' is just not true, otherwise you wouldn't see articles and articles coming out in the press about Madonna and everything she said and did since the album campaign started. People know, and those who care about her, will go and buy the music.

Everything in this era has been perfect, and much better than what many of the 20 something hip and trendy pop girls of today have been doing. Although more exposure is always good, as I love to see Madonna at every chance I get, I don't see that as something which impacts my appreciation of her music in any way.

So my overall response to what you said is that maybe you should focus more on your own appreciation of the music, and not on what she should be doing, how she should be doing it, and what others think of her.
