  1. LN says:

In celebration of Madonna's return visit to Australia, Icon will host a pre-sale for current registered Icon members. Lifetime Legacy members of Icon will receive first access to tickets and VIP Packages starting Tuesday, June 23rd at 10am local times. Members of Icon from Australia and New Zealand, registered before June 15th 2015, will receive a special code to access to Icon pre-sales beginning on June 23rd at 12-noon local times.

Does that mean that even Classic members before June 15 will just get a presale code, without having to buy a live pass?

VIPs go up to $2000!!!!! Heart stage is only $1099 so that seems quite good.

  2. Im in such a state. Excited obviously but panicing about getting tickets... sooo many 'presale' options, which will all have their own allocation, so how to know which is the best? Also, has anyone seen he VIP package prices? Im thinking that I will get heart stage package the first night and then just a general seat the second night. oh the drama!

  3. Well tbh I've watched this video about 59 times with the purpose of paying attention to who is in it, but each time I end up just watching M and pay no attention to anyone else. Would a kind soul make a list of all the people who are (really) in the video.

Btw, that yoko gif is a thousand times better effects that cercei's face in GoT.

  4. Why would she if she had 45 songs to choose? Imagine her "oh, i have 45, let's take this song from 15 years ago to see what happens". We had Your Honesty because she wanted to add somethng else to that weird R&R and that was surely the first folder her assistant opened. And that was becase Bedtime Stories starts with a B.

maybe she re-recorded beautiful scars before she wrote the other 45 songs? it just seems odd that if that is a new interview with Rick he didnt mention writing with her recently?

  5. We only have the three RoL leaked ones don't we?

Revenge, Like a Flower and Gone, Gone, Gone.

Maybe she wrote those with Rick Nowells. Though Like a Flower sounds like a song she did with Babyface

Yes, they are all RIck Knowles, but I dont know of any others. Funny how some songs leak and others dont ...

Ive wondered if Beautiful Scars was written recently, or whether it was from ROL originally and she just dusted it off and maybe changed a few things with a new writer? The bridge sounds like it was written for this album, but maybe she found this old song and that inspired this whole album...

  6. I cant really answer this question, as RH and the process leading up to its release is just very different from a typical album.

Some past albums have been a couple of excellent hit songs with a few others that could be skipped

Some albums have been an experience that you start at the start and follow a sonic journey through to the end.

RH is neither of these. Firstly we have so many more songs that usual, creating so many different options on what to listen to at any one time. And you kind of have to make a decision because its not practical to sit and listen to the entire album. Second, the leaks and then partial releases and abandoning of the double disc mean that there is inherent no logic to the order of songs as presented - it almost list Madonna is saying "I have all these songs, please take your pick and make your own album". So some days I pick out a dozen songs from RH and another days I pick another dozen songs, and its like they are completely new and unique experiences.

Also, I still think its too early. Sometimes songs become iconic because of how she first performs them on tour. Others needs to wait years longer to see if they are still relevant (eg I never really thought Live to Tell was that great a song until Confessions Tour).

  7. Of course, this was back in the day when you couldnt just readily go to the internet and hear snippets and leaks (easily), or even see promo in other countries, so all I I had heard about the Confessions CD was Hung Up single (which at first I wasn;t reaaly sure about). So I just bought the CD and went home to listen, started OK with Hung Up .. and then GT came on. I couldnt even play through to the rest of the CD coz I just had to keep replaying this one song, that I just couldn't beleive the brilliance I was listening to. It was everything a pop song shoudl be yet unlike anything I had heard before. I just couldn't understand how this was not the lead single. I was worried about listening to the rest of the CD becasue surely there could not be anything better than Get Together. I was right, but ultimately disappointed that this wasn't the worldwide hit it deserved to be. This song should have been that decade's Into the Groove or Vogue.

  8. Im so glad that people think that the girlie show is at least in top 3 - i think its the best but didnt think others would like it. there's just something so sexy about it.

agree that DWT is the worst, in any form.

  9. i really don't think she's that calculating in what she includes in her shows. I dont think she does any song because she feels she needs to, its just whether or not it fits with her ideas for the theatre of it all. All we really know is that she doesnt like too many ballads.

  10. I just hope they give us more than a day's notice before tickets on sale. I'll need to plan a day off work to buy tickets, and some days to figure out which shows and where the money will come from. I really want to go to as many shows as I can. plus, some time to breath and calm down as I seriously think I will going mental when they finally announce something.

As for all the other discussion on here - i really couldnt care less if she came out here and just read the phone book or sang nursery rhymes. I would even be happy if she filled the show with Hey You and Candy Shop. This is going to be the best moment of my life (since 1993).

  11. I dont even know what "released" means anymore. When ghosttown was released, you couldn't buy it on itunes if you already had bought the album, and with no physical release, there was nothing to buy. And streams dont get counted in Australia. And the video was only available to buy AGES after the release date (and even ages after the video came out). remixes were even later. So, no wonder it didn't chart - there was nothing to buy when it was "released". So, what's the point of even releasing a single anymore?

  12. what does stumps up the downside guarantee mean!?!?

"stumps up" = commits to pay

"downside guarantee" = even if ticket sales are poor, M will still be paid an agreed minimum by the local promoter.

(i.e, M's people want the local promoter to take all the risk if tickets dont sell out, and to meet the requested minimum, they would need to be able to virtually sell out at very high prices, which would have any local promoter worried given sales to date.)

  13. I feel so sad and angry for everyone who's had their plans ruined.

It does seem strange that the know 3 months out that they will be a week late. Most things (stage, costumes etc) should be ready ages before opening which would still allow compressed rehearsal if these were late. So it must be something important (worth waiting for) and beyond their control.

It's pretty poor form that m's official sites are the LAST place to provide news.
