  1. If it does in fact boil down to Trump vs. Hillary, I really hope we can count on the Bernie supporters to support the Democratic Party. It's not voting "out of fear;" it's doing the right thing. We cannot allow Trump to be president. We have to be united against him. The vast majority of the #BernieOrBust people are white straight men that have little to lose under a Trump presidency. As a black gay college student, I have EVERYTHING to lose under a Trump presidency so please don't contribute to his success by placing your vote on a total losing candidate. I'm begging all of you - for our sake.

  2. I don't even know what to say anymore....get used to it ??? :p

U.S. judge orders discovery to go forward over Clinton’s private email system

Oh please. This is a cockamamie story. Huma is nothing short of a consummate professional and a very kind person. They're grasping at straws. And the continuous claims that she somehow "must be tied to the Muslim brotherhood" are xenophobic and I'm sick and tired of it and of the lies and falsehoods and Republican-manufactured propaganda people continually spew about Hillary and her camp. The email thing is SUCH bullshit at this point that it's unbelievable that people are STILL talking about it. It's sad. Get a fucking life.

  3. Ah, gotcha. I agree that her Iraq war vote alone should make her foreign policy questionable (as I think it should with anyone else who voted for it), but it shouldn't be the lone deciding factor.

I agree that it certainly has to be taken into account with regards to her foreign policy but I think she's proven herself to be very knowledgable and I think she did a good job as Secretary of State. It's obvious to me that Benghazi wasn't her fault. It was the responsibility of those below her and they dropped the ball.

  4. I don't think anyone has run a negative ad on Sanders yet. That's why his favorables are so high. The GOP can't wait to face him. I love the guy, but I have real doubts about a 74 year old Democratic Socialist with no Super PAC money behind him in the general winning swing states like Virginia, Florida, or Ohio (which Obama barely won in 2012 by 1-3% margins). The sheer optimism shown by his supporters alarms me a little. I don't know if they realize how close this election will really be...even if Trump is the nominee.

I agree. Bernie could never win Ohio or Florida and without those states it's over. The GOP will paint a very, very clear picture of him as being an aging Soviet Socialist whose out to raise everybody's taxes and that will scare a lot of Americans. It's sad but true. Hillary's survived attacks from the GOP for 25 years so I have more confidence she'll be able to pull through.

  5. Obviously I agree we'll never be as disgusting as the GOP but I still think we're better than the way we've been acting lately. I'm so sick and tired of all the negativity from both Hillary and Bernie supporters. We need to get rid of the electoral college and delegates and primaries in this country. It's an abomination. It makes the process so much longer and more painful and it's totally biased and just full of shit.

  6. Well, I think it's unfair to say that Bernie Sanders doesn't deserve to be president because a number of his followers said something misogynistic when he has no power over that.

Nobody in this forum blamed Clinton for the ridiculous and in my opinion misogynistic thing that Madeline Albright said about there being a special place in hell for women who don't for Clinton. Clinton has never pandered to any group of weak-minded or hateful Americans to get votes, so any of her supporters who says anything nasty, like one of our very own members who's always saying Bernie Sanders is one whatever away from getting a heart attack and laughing about it, isn't Clinton's fault.

The same thing with Bernie, he's NEVER pandered to misogynistic males so if you blame him for a handful of idiots out there on the internet, then whatever. I'll blame Clinton from now on for anything one of her supporters says.

I NEVER said he doesn't deserve to be president because of his supporters. That's preposterous. I NEVER blamed Bernie for it. I'm talking about some of his supporters and them alone. It has nothing to do with anything he's done or said. I'm pretty sure he's condemned his supporters that talk that way actually. And like I said - I like him a lot. I've met him. Stop twisting my words. And I also never said that all Hillary supporters are perfect - they certainly aren't. I want both sides to stop harboring such animosity for each other. We're becoming nearly as bad as the Republicans.

  7. Show me one example of Bernie Sanders' supporters being disgusting misogynists. I follow NPR mostly and all I read are mostly well-informed people having adult conversations about politics.

There's SO many. Obviously you won't find it in intellectual places like NPR but if you look at any of Hillary's posts on her Facebook or any videos of her on YouTube, stuff thats totally irrelevant to this election too, you'll find comment after comment that's just deplorable. Nobody here seems to understand that we still live in a world of the most heinous internalized and institutionalized sexism, along with racism and homophobia, etc obviously. Bernie supporters aren't exempt from this either - that doesn't mean that ALL Bernie supporters are like this or even the majority. But they exist in large numbers and I'm disappointed by it.

  8. Well on most social media I've read, Bernie "supporters" (who are supposedly feminists and for equal rights and tolerance) have spewed nothing but the most revolting, misogynistic language towards Hillary and I find that deplorable. I love Bernie, I've met him a couple times and he used to be my Senator, but I prefer Hillary for President and would NEVER launch a baseless, personal attack against Bernie to try and bolster and justify my support for Hillary. I'm very disappointed in many of his supporters and would expect A LOT better from people who claim to be socialists and for complete tolerance and world peace and all that.

  9. ^^ Exactly!!! Couldn't have said it better myself! And everything you said shows the institutionalized systems of racism and sexism in our society. Hillary and Obama get WAY more shit than they actually deserve because of their race and gender. If they were both white guys they'd get a lot more respect - I guarantee it. They're both far, far from perfect but they're not nearly as bad as society and the media makes them out to be. They've accomplished a lot more than people seem to realize.

  10. Now I'm a racist. :lmao:

I never said YOU were racist. But just generally people's animosity towards Obama comes from a place of racism. Specifically the Republican Party's vow to force him to fail from the get go comes from a place of internalized racism. It's really, really hard in American society for minorities to achieve greatness. We have to work twice as hard to get half as far as the others.

  11. Hillary has grave legal issues that could totally prevent her from continuing her campaign, like felonious and criminal corruption in the highest echelons of the US government, but she has never cried misogyny as far as I know. So a Bloomberg independent candidacy would almost certainly hurt her more than the Republicans since it would give left leaning folks an outlet to push their ideas with someone who is not soiled with that sleaze). Although I doubt he would get in to be a spoiler. If a self avowed socialist is the candidate running against two billionaires, who knows ? Sometimes it really does feel like science fiction come to life. :)

That is BEYOND untrue. She has NO legal issues - that's total media fabrication bullshit. The CIA's already stated this numerous times and in fact has claimed Trey Gowdy falsified documents in attempt to frame her. If Hillary has "legal issues" then George W. Bush should be serving a life sentence for war crimes. People will believe ANYTHING the media tells them and it never ceases to boggle my mind.

  12. I don't love him at all. He disappointed me so much and helped me lose the little faith I had left in U.S. politics.

Well, that's complete bullshit. He's done a hell of a lot for our country given the situation he was handed. He doesn't get one iota of the amount of credit he deserves and much of that is racially motivated, I'm afraid. I think he's an extraordinary leader and he's achieved a lot and put the US back on the right track post-Bush. Now it's up to the next person to build on and excel upon the foundation that Obama's built.

  13. Well, I fucking hate Hilary. She's a disgusting hypocrite. I guess I'm a misogynist.

Who isn't a fucking hypocrite in American politics? I mean, really? How is she ANY different from Obama? Yet everyone LOVES him and praises him endlessly and calls her a "Wall Street whore" when Obama is literally no different. It's sexism. I'm sorry, but it is. It's SUCH a disappointment that it's still such a huge issue in our society. It's no different than what Madonna faces in the music industry.
