  1. Clinton keeps slim edge over Sanders in latest Iowa Poll

Hillary Clinton has kept a tight grip on her slim lead over Bernie Sanders in the waning hours leading into the Iowa caucuses, a new Iowa Poll shows. Clinton is the top pick for 45 percent of likely Democratic caucusgoers, with Sanders at 42 percent, The Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics poll shows. Clinton's support is up 3 percentage points from earlier this month, and Sanders' is 2 percentage points higher.

This race is as tight as can be, said David Axelrod, a national political strategist. If Bernie Sanders had momentum headed into the final month, the race now is static and essentially tied."

It comes down to who can grind it out on the ground on Monday night, said Axelrod, a senior political commentator for CNN and an architect of Barack Obama's successful 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns. The results are within the polls margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

"Turnout is everything," Axelrod said. "If turnout is within a normal range, Hillary likely wins. If it goes higher, approaching 200,000, it will be a good night for Bernie."

It looks like it's gonna be a tight race in Iowa on Monday!

This is so exciting! It's literally a coin toss that will help decide who comes out on top and could change the race momentum for either of them
  2. Yeah, I generally agree with you, but voting for a really right-wing Republican is not the answer. I disagree with you about not blaming Republicans. They're almost never held accountable, especially by the media. The media is too scared of being labelled 'liberal' so they try to portray everything as 50/50 when they're clearly not. Even just comparing Interview and debate questions that politicians get depending on their party.

  3. It really amazes me that a significant amount of people would vote for those far-right Republican candidates. Obama has repaired a lot of the damage on the world stage caused by 8 years of Republicans before him. Hillary was also a big part of fixing those relations. The fact that the US President not only affects Americans, but the rest of the world, highlights how irresponsible it would be to elect one of those Republican candidates

  4. Or maybe they don't hold anything as such against Bernie, or else they would bring it, why only weaken Hillary?

Also, many Republican voters at least respect Bernie because it's not just Democrats that favour his positions. I also disagree with Nightshade that he would lose against Rubio. Rubio is as establishment as it comes and that is what people seem to be going against this election
  5. I feel such a mix day-to-day over whether I'm for Hillary or Bernie based on their chances. I mentioned the other day that the south will be a big problem for Bernie, however, if he wins both Iowa and NH then that will be significant. Hillary is still up high in South Carolina, but Bernie is slowly catching up as recent polls show in SC. The Nevada results will be a good indication as well. Hillary does not have this in the bag, there is no clear winner in Iowa and a win for Bernie there will change everything. It's going to be a tight race all the way to the convention

  6. The Revolution isn't going to come. Sanders has all of these grandiose ideas, but he has no sense of how to implement them effectively. His record in Congress is proof of that. He'd be a divider in the Oval Office whereas the country needs a uniter. Fifteen trillion in new spending ? Seriously ? Obama could barely get much, much more modest programs passed and that was with a large Democratic majority. So he'd spend most of his single-term in office tilting at windmills. My prediction. :)

Yeah I know I was just poking fun at it all  Besides, where I live a lot of what Bernies supports has already been around for decades. The best dem nominee with the best chance to be able to get things done and unite the country would be.... Martin O'Malley hahahaha

  7. I was just wondering who you guys would prefer to get the Democratic nomination with Hillary vs. Bernie? Even though I'm not American, I will endorse either Hillary or Bernie if they get the nomination. I won't pick between the two because that's up to you Americans to decide. I'm going to be watching the upcoming debate closely and cannot wait! Even though there's been a lot of negativity surrounding her, I'd be happy if Hillary wins. Bernie is obviously the best progressive candidate, however, the establishment may win this battle even though progressives will win overall. I don't think Hillary will be too bad and I say that as someone who from late 2013 until September 2015 experienced the worst Prime Minister in Australian history.

  8. I've been thinking, Bernie Sanders has a really good chance at getting the nomination. I know what the polls are saying, but a lot of those polls only include those who voted in the past two presidential elections. That means that people under 26 are not being counted. Millenials are one of his biggest demographics and Hillary seems to be getting nervous trying to be misleading and condescending about him and his positions/plans. People thought Hillary Clinton was inevitable in 2008 and that turned out to be very untrue. I think Bernie Sander's base and willingness to vote have been extremely underestimated and I'm started to seriously think he will become the 45th President of the United States.

I'm really looking forward to see what happens since it's a little more exciting than following the 2016 Australian General election haha

  10. I'm just going to make a prediction

    Republican nominee: Ted Cruz

    Democratic nominee: Hillary Clinton

It's still really early and I may change my mind later, but I think they are the most likely possibility at the moment. There's no way they are going to allow Trump to be nominated, even if it means going against Republican voters.
