  1. maybe we should just accept that madonna made up with her. gaga did a lot of shit and took things so personally but maybe M explained it and they're fine now.

You think M felt the need to explain her actions to Lady Gaga? Not a chance.

  2. Whoever it was, in my mind Guy Oseary is responsible, considering new Madonna albums/tracks had been being leaked since Music in 2000. For him to not research/up security around Madonna's recording sessions is dropping a serious ball. It's even more dumb because as her manager, he's affecting his own bottom line.

I've never thought Guy was particularly competent, and it annoys me that he's credited with Madonna's success and is considered some sort of super-manager. Guy Oseary was handed a winning lottery ticket. Madonna was already a huge star when he started with her. Oseary's one good move was signing Alanis Morisette. Aside from that I see him ruining the careers of two of the 80s biggest legacy acts. He is a fool who is obsessed with money and models, and not so much with doing the work.

  3. The point is, it doesn't make a scrap of difference where her name is listed in the credits. If people want to assume that the order of the credits is important, then that's their business. Are you upset that John Lennon is always listed first or is that OK for some reason? If you have no opinion on that particular case, then that suggests that it really doesn't matter, does it?

Often with a group, the group's members are listed alphabetically in the credits, but that certainly doesn't imply that Jason Axon contributed more than Talia Zephyr - it's just the agreement that they've come to as a group. Does it really matter? Absolutely not.

It's really just your perception that Madonna is taking the "main credit". The publishing splits tell a different story.

As for "Heartbeat", Madonna changed the lyrics significantly. Again, this is something that has been discussed at length here in the distant past, but it's always good to revisit old discussions every now and then for newer members.

i think Madonna should come first, because she is the overseer of the process. She is directing the whole thing. She also takes the credit when something doesn't hit or connect with the audience as opposed to pushing the blame onto one of the songwriters or someone else. Madonna's name at the beginning shows that everything that went on in those writing sessions was under her direction and that the final product met her approval.
  4. As often as I admittedly use their products, the tech industry as a whole (in its current state) can wither and die. It's decidedly anti-content, and all about the next gadget/toy they can convince people to overspend on. I'm really sounding bitter here, but fuck it.

EDIT: While I appreciate the notion of putting sound quality forward...CD level quality (for those who care) is EVERYWHERE. THEY'RE CALLED CDS

im surprised no one has made a sound quality higher than cd yet. I mean vinyl is higher quality than CD and that technology is super old. With computers you'd think it would've happened by now. Now if Tidal had done that, they would have gotten every audiophile onboard.
  5. daily mail seems oblivious that schumers joke is on publications like theirs. I mean they basically called Madonna unfuckable days ago, and now they're praising Schumer for skewering ageism? Come on.
  6. This!!!

Often, artists voices tend to get worse the older they get but M's voice seems to be better than ever. She sounds great!

While I still think M has some great stuff in her, I've definitely noticed the wear and tear on her voice. I think as long as she sticks within her range of comfort we'll be fine, but without some serious fresh vocal training I don't think we'll be hearing, say, Ray of Light anytime soon.

With that said, her voice is still beautiful, but different. The album does a great job of showcasing her current strengths.

By the way, really pissed God is Love didnt make the album. I think that's a song filled with both Rebel and Heart.

  7. This is such a stupid debate. Someone can have bad policies and still have dropped a good quotable here or there. Madonna's argument since her earliest days is that the public tries to shoehorn people into a category.

People are good and bad, sometime more to one end of the spectrum than the other, but people are also very complex. A bad decision doesn't mean everything someone's done/said for their whole life is evil and bad. So to anyone complaining about this go take a barium enema.

  8. Oh please, the very fact that Thatcher disliked women and stigmatized gays should be enough for Madge to choose another "powerful woman that rubbish gays like" to quote, to make whatever point she's trying to make.

Anyway, she DELETED the post, as she should have.

nobody is all bad and a good quote is a good quote.
