  1. I'm not making any complaints about what new things do to her legacy. I have no real problem what she joins...I just get the vibe that Madonna really doesn't give a shit about this stuff.

I've just always gotten the vibe that Madonna knows what made the iconic legends what they were... There was this aspect that they were so untouchable...and social media basically throws that old-school concept out the window (which I actually don't think is a good thing...considering we've seen where social media lands far too many public figures). It's that certain something that made Madonna, Michael, etc. so larger than life...god-like... they understood what happens when you give the public too much (except Michael in the latter part of his life). But it's a reality of the industry today, so...I guess we'll see...will it be a more promo tool...some weird personal stuff... I'm sure it will be fun.

Instagram might be the perfect thing for her though... text (Twitter) gives away too much / is taken out of context / etc. But just an image allows people to make of it what they want... and can keep them guessing. You know she likes that...

  2. I actually hope there are more wide shots of the whole stage, especially during big numbers like Vogue, Express Yourself, LAP.

MDNA was so cinematic in scale, that doing too many close-ups ala Confessions ... at least for me ... won't work. You'd just miss out on too much.

Don't get me wrong, I love the close-ups...but one of my personal pet peeves with Madonna's filmed concerts is that there is often too many close-ups, and I feel you miss out on the scale and feel of certain numbers, and what's going on on the whole stage. Maybe because I'm into design, I like to see the bigger picture sometimes.

As for Sticky and Sweet, I actually love that they showed the audience. Blacking them out too much looses out on the scale of the audiences at M's shows, and the live feel (though I understand sometimes it's a necessity if the audience sucks).

I guess it depends on what kind of 'feel' they want to give off for the concert film - a more stylized music video/movie feel ala Confessions or IGTTYAS (which I do love, and works for that show)...or that high energy, loud live concert vibe ala Sand S and Girlie Show (my favorite).

MDNA is so big I think it needs that bigger, live feel...with certain performances getting the more stylized effect.

  3. Much like her other social media, and website, it's probably going to be mainly run by her assistants/team...no?

She's basically confirming that instagram is the official one for her, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's running it, taking the pics, etc... I just don't see her as the type who would do any of that, at all.

I see this as no different than her official website, facebook, etc. It's about her brand...not her personal life. Like she would ever, right...

  4. well , when the ticket says the shows gonna start at 8 .

and she comes at 11:40 in a monday , the arena is sure gonna be pissed , i was tired by the time she came up

In that case, true. I think anything past 10 (10:15 is pushing it) is gonna get folks a little upset.

  5. I don't understand the late issue. Mind you, she can be very, very late (anything after 10 is pushing it a little bit)... but most mainstream music artists - pop, rock, etc. - NEVER start at the stated ticket time.

What's happened, today's concert goers have never been to a fucking live music concert before? It's not musical theater where you have to be seated or else. The music business has never started concerts at the stated ticket time. I don't know what alternate universe the public is living in today. Maybe they all just need something to constantly complain about?

(And I'm referring to the general public, not Madonna fans here).

I've never been to a concert that started on time. Ever. Janet -always starts late (between 9 and 9:30). Britney didn't start to nearly 10 (and seemed incoherent). Cher took forever. RandB acts/Old-school acts go on whenever they fucking feel like it... unless there's a curfew.

And M's shows are such technical/theatrical monstrosities I can only imagine what can go wrong.

  6. MDNA was the return of the full-on BALLS out, I DON'T GIVE A FUCK Madonna.....

That's what I LOVED about this era. From the show itself, to the interviews, to the way she just carried herself... this is the Madonna I fell in love with.

  7. For those complaining that live cds are just the audio from the Blu-Ray/DVDs...it's been that way for awhile now. And not just for Madonna. Basically most, if not all, artists do that. There's no need to mix/engineer two completely different recordings of the same exact show from the same exact night/performance.

  8. I based mine on the SandS Live Album (13 tracks), as well as other artists itunes digital releases of live cds/with digital copy of concert film (like Kylie's Aphrodite release, etc.) with the additional 'bonus tracks' being itunes exclusives...

but this time giving buyers the full show (On the deluxe edition digital release, I see no need to limit the amount of songs).

You want a hard copy - 13/14 tracks (single disc) / Includes the standard DVD of tour film (like Confessions Tour release).

You want the full show - have to buy the 'itunes deluxe edition'.

You want 'itunes deluxe edition' with digital version of concert film and tour doc - buy the 'itunes deluxe VIDEO edition'.

    Oh fuck no.

I have to have Vogue, The Erotic Candy Shop, I'm A Sinner/Cyber-Raga, LAP...

How can you have Justify My Love and not go into that incredible intro into Vogue?

Unless they do an itunes deluxe version with the added songs to complete the show... I hate her edited live cd releases. Just release a damn two-disc. Is it that hard?

Hell with itunes, and most things being digital media now anyways, why not release the full show?

And two, I hope they don't drown out the band with too much over-dubbing of the studio versions. Her team tends to do that way too much.

if anything, I need to hear live drums. That's the backbone of live music. And Brian's a great drummer. Don't drown him out.

I hope someone does a high quality rip of the whole show from the tour Blu-ray/DVD (like they've done with the past tours). That's how I, and I'm guessing most other fans, get the proper whole show audio anyway, right?

  10. I didn't get to see the show live either. I've never gotten the chance yet to see her live...so the filmed concerts are all I have to go by too.

If these two guys directing/editing the show are competent (and I think they did a fine job with Olympia)...then I'll save my drama until the thing is actually released before claiming the sky is falling.

  11. Having seen plenty of Miami vids, while there were a few blank spots in the audience, overall audience reaction seemed fine. Nothing looked "horrific" or half empty.

And nothing that a little smart editing can't fix.

So she changed a pair of pants... from most accounts, never heard of any major problems those two nights that caused any changes or cuts in the show. All she did was start late (as usual).

And the audience seemed far more enthused in those clips than the London Confessions DVD audience, at the very least.

    Why are we so worried?

  12. I think most official cd/dvd covers for pretty much all artists aren't that great compared to some of the incredible work fans do.

Take a visit to coverlandia, etc. and some of the work amateurs/budding pro graphic artists are doing is far superior to the work these "professional" artistic directors are doing...or the choices being made by the artists and their managers themselves.

I look at my itunes laid out with the official covers vs. changing up to un-official artwork, and the layout of looking at all your albums (esp. with the new itunes) is night and day...
