Nope. Plays seamlessly for me.

Ok slags, I re-ripped the TV audio in 320kbs and upped the volume. Can't go any louder without it starting to distort. Split it yourself if not happy with one long file
Amazing quality!!! Thank you!!!

Madonna having those long side screens as a part of the stage (that she decided not to even use properly) set so far forward served to more or less HIDE the back screens (and the core visuals of the show) from ppl in about the first third of side seating in stadiums, ironically the most expensive seats. This was a common complaint at the stadium shows and imo a design fault.
Hmmm, ok. I am wondering if that was really his doing, though. It may have been, but If I remember right, the custom proscenium that was built for the stadium-only shows may have been built and designed by a different company. Again, I'm not sure, but when I was looking at the articles/videos of the design/construction of the MDNA stage, it sounded like it was a different company that designed and built the proscenium. The stage that Mark Fisher designed is essentially built inside that.
Again, he may have designed it, but I'd swear it was some other company that did...
As for that issue, I noticed that seems to happen with a lot of stadium setups though. I've seen side views from other stadium concerts, and usually the back part of the stage (where the screens often are), tend to usually get obscured anyway. Not excusing the MDNA tour issue, just that it seems to be an issue that happens in many typical stadium setups.

Sad news but his stadium set-up for Madonna was below par. Also it was what was ON the (rather rudimentary) stage that mattered and made it great. The lighting design, the screens etc designed by others.
The fact his last work was that Gaga monstrosity is probably the saddest thing of all.
What was wrong with the stadium set-up?
-
So sad. He designed incredible stages. Having studied a little stage design, I referenced his work a lot. Regardless of the stage, even with Madonna's being fairly minimalistic and focused on video screens...it's not an easy job to lay it all out and plan how it will work physically and visually.
Amazing artist/designer. Saw quite a few tours with his stage designs too. All amazing.
RIP.

I can understand why she doesn't change so much, though, because her shows are so structured (like musical theater), esp. with all the visual and technical aspects. You can't just throw anything in.
It was fun to see the little additions in MDNA, though.
With the early tours, she talked a lot more to the audience, as well as the banter between her, Niki and Donna... so that's often what would change and keep things fresh.

^Ah, thanks!!! ...and I found it back there. Wasn't looking .. haha.
I've downloaded so many versions of the audio so far, I'm getting confused keeping track of them all.
-
What's wrong with the audio I posted you bitches?
Where is it ? ... I must have missed it.
I did download that one from MadonnaChile... but the audience sounds so loud on that one, while the band and vocals sit too far back. And i don't hear much difference compared to the web rip. In fact, I like the web rip much better than that cause you can hear her vocals and the band.
Maybe I just need to hear a super HQ rip of the broadcast tv version to notice the differences you guys are talking about...

4 more hours till I download MadRyan's torrent. I'll be ripping the audio in itunes format in 320.
You amazing man you... Thank you!!!
-
Both. I previously downloaded that 5gb mov file that was ripped from the net stream. That's where I got those godawful screencaps. The picture is dark and grainy, the contrast turned right up etc. This new torrent from the actual tv broadcast fixes most of that. The sound is ENTIRELY different. Vocals deeper in the mix instead of floating on top, backing track popping out, audience singing mixed better, Nikki's LAP solo sounds better integrated and in this one M says during LAP "alright put your hands togetheeeeeeeer" - sounds fine. In the old one its put your hands togeth..*cut*. You'd need to hear it.
Is there a way someone can rip this audio mix from the tv broadcast?
Most of us who have just the audio have, what I think, is the audio rip from the online streaming...no?

....And the trolls are showing up...

The way this has been edited, just proves it to me that this era has really been for the fans.
:bow:/>
YES!!! I've never really seen a Madonna concert film that so intentionally feels like a "thank you" to the fans. Amazing!
-
I think it's IMPOSSIBLE to capture everything that goes on in a Madonna concert. Hell, I went to the concert 6 times and I can still see and hear things on the DVD that I had not noticed before. It's not uncommon for example, that when I show a Madonna DVD to my friends who've only seen the concert once, that they ask "Was that in the concert, why didn't I see that?". Had the focus been on the backdrops, I'm sure there will be some who will complain as well...Why weren't they focusing on Madonna's dancing, why don't they show more of the choreography, the dancers, blah, blah, blah. As far as I'm concerned, the film came as close at it could to capturing the sight, sound & feel of the concert and by far the best filmed Madonna concert The filiming in different venues did not bother me at all nor did it disrupt the continuity of the action. In fact, I liked the fact that they showed different crowds as it gives the different fans from the different venues a chance to be on the DVD. I think that's really cool.

Just watched it again. LOVE IT!!!
By far her best filmed tour.
Barely even noticed the continuity issues (as you get so caught up in the whole thing). Best tour audio for a film by far too!!!
I seriously cannot praise this enough. 3 decades into a career where most don't last a fraction of that...and this woman just gets fucking better, in every way.
God damn.
-
It is me or the Vogue version on the DVD sounds more powerful than the live version? I mean, it has more bass, more sounds. Sounds like she changed instrumental things...
I think the "film" version sounds amazing!!! It's got a bounce to it that is just infectious... and yeah, sounds quite different from the "live" version.
And I love the sound effects. I think they still work very well with the MDNA concept.

From listening to the Amsterdam show audio on constant repeats for the past year, there were other things cut from the DVD, but it's just minimal stuff. They just cut a few seconds from the intro's/beginnings of some of the songs such as Celebration, I'm Addicted, the opening chant. There was also a bigger gap between I Don't Give A and Best Friend, but they shortened that.
NBD
yep, I just started to pick up on those things. I think it keeps the pace moving film-wise.
-
So, it appears the "Turning Up the Hits" interlude is actually titled "Radio Dial Static"...
From the film credits, it appears that both "4 Minutes" and "Ray of Light" are in it. Maybe they were just cut from the Epix broadcast?
I noticed that. Those two songs were cut from the little interlude...hmmm, wonder why, considering you only get few a seconds of each one. Guess she just wanted the pace to move faster.

...............
Fuck, I don't even know what to say.
As of now, all I can say is the audio mix is incredible!!!!!! I know some people are going to complain about something...but I love it.
The editing and shots are amazing. It actually feels like a live concert while still feeling cinematic. Color correction is just right.
I barely even noticed the continuity issues...other than maybe when they added in the Olympia footage. But it all works...and casual folks won't know the difference.
I love how her voice is front and center, and 'sounds' live (regardless of whether it was or not in the actual show).
And some of the arrangements here almost seem a bit different...or we just couldn't pick up the details from vids and bootlegs. So many little audio details in GGW, HU, BF, EY, GMAYL, Vogue, Candy Shop, Sinner that I never picked up on before.
Hung Up sounds AMAZING. I will admit, it was my least favorite of the show...and is now maybe one of my favorites.
I love what they did to the GGW dance breakdown!!!
Vogue has a great 'bounce' to it in this mix I love. Candy Shop is funky as hell.
I have NO issues with the audio mix or vocals...other than maybe a few of the 'effects' being a bit louder.
And the crowd shots I love. I love how it focuses on individual groups of people. She really wanted to make them an integral part of this, and it shows!!!
I've never seen a filmed concert of hers feel like a complete "thank you" to the hardcore fans. Fucking amazing!
I love the queens bopping in GGW, the shock and awe during NKM, and LAP... is that cutie in the striped shirt our Lum?
-
yep, def looks like the online streaming will be up in less than hour.
Oh my god....
-
I think it looks great. I like the overlays in that intro.
-
i dont even notice the continuality issues. it looks GORGEOUS!
Same here, didn't even notice a thing.
-
That was amazing! I love, love, love seeing the creative process...
I loved the violinist in the show, but this other one was amazing too. And Chaz is just amazing. That Falling Free piece would have been incredible to see...
haha...yeah, those credits were wrong. Monte's a violinist now...LOL!!!
-
Maybe Rocco just uses his computer. Most of those apps, including Instagram, can be done from you desktop/laptop.
-
It looks amazing. Anyone who thinks otherwise is seriously just a killjoy.
Exactly! And it sounds amazing too!!!
I'm Addicted looks phenomenal! I don't mind the backdrop overlays in editing, and it seems this tour film is going to do that much less than previous ones. Can you imagine what I'm Addicted would have looked like edited CT/S&S style?
It seems they are going for a focus on performance and choreography this time around.
MDNA Tour EPIX TV Premiere
in ARCHIVE - Madonna
Posted
Nearly every filmed pop/rock concert I've seen has way too much "fake audience" effect added. Not unique to Madonna, that's for sure.
The MDNA EPIX website version that everyone hates has the audience noise quite lower than the tv broadcast.
Question is, what will the BluRay/DVD sound like?
