  1. It's an unpopular opinion, but I love the song. It grew on me. Now I can't stop playing it.

Is it one of her better more recent singles? Hell no. But if you take it as it is...a fun, frivolous pop song...it's just, fun. Far worse pop crap all over the radio anyway...and if a younger artist had done it, it probably would have been a decent hit with some radio play.

The tour version is amazing. And it was a great opener for the show. I remember playing it in the car one day, and my mother was like "who is this...is this Madonna?" I was expecting her to not like it...but she was like "hey, burn me a copy of this!" LOL!!!!!!!

Now the video... that was perfection.

  2. Clearly a more up to date one than you, because as far as I'm aware, the last time GRILLZ were fashionable, 50 cent ruled the charts and everyone wanted a Furby for Christmas.

    :semifunny:

Well, you were the one acting like you didn't know what they were. So, no, you're not more up to date than me. And I never said I liked them either.

I couldn't give a fuck about the grillz. I have no real opinion about them either way. It's her downtime, she can do whatever she wants. She's having fun. Big deal. Get over it.

  3. What actually is with the DISGUSTING gum shield thing? I hadn't commented because I thought it was just some nuts thing she did for Instagram one time, but WEARING IT in PUBLIC? I don't get it, is that a trend? Have we gone back in time 10 years and found ourselves in the Kelis 'Bossy' video? Sort yourself out woman.

Boy, what era are you living in?

  4. Just shows the difference between the generations ( I'm assuming you are a young'en :) and part of a throw away society. I actually feel sorry for you guys never really knowing the rush one gets when they come home with a record or cd or even with us oldies, cassettes ( look it up:) ripping the packaging off and putting it in the player and pressing pla.

You know what they say when you "assume"......

I am not a "young'en" or part of any "throw away society." I don't need to "look up" anything...I grew up buying all the music I loved on cassette, cd, box sets, etc, collecting all my favorites...but more so starting with vinyl that me and my father use to go and get at the smelly, dusty old music store...waiting in lines... feeling the anticipation... and peeling back the wrapper as I sat in the car salivating over what was inside...the smell of a fresh album...the artwork on the sleeves...knowing how to use a record player all by myself at barely a few years old. I may have been very young then but I LIVED during that era...and I LIVED for it. I miss those days.

I just also happen to be someone that enjoys technology and moving forward, and embraces digital as well.

Yes, it's nice to have both digital and physical formats, but I still stand by my original statement. If digital is all that was available, and I still want to support the artist (particularly if it's one of my favorites), it takes now no more than a few minutes (not even) to click a button and buy an album. "One less sale" simply because it's 'digital only' reeks of a whiny kid having a tantrum.

  5. It's not bad. Kind of like it.

Very minimalist. The yellow has a 'caution tape - crime scene' kind of feel. Her expression kind of stares right into you...a bit cold, foreboding.

Considering the art direction of the tour book, tour promo, and album...it's definitely not what I was expecting. Still...much better than a backdrop screenshot.

  6. For people saying they would never pay to see Cher...I thought the same until I saw her on that never-ending "Farewell Tour". Trust me...it was fucking worth it.

Vocals, stage presence...you name it.... for someone who has lasted over 4 decades, she can perform circles around these pop bitches of today. On top of that, she can sing her face off, and act and tell jokes all at the same time, and have everyone eating out of the palm of her hand the whole show.

As for some saying her music is irrelevant...I call bullshit. She may be seen as over-the-top, camp, a showgirl (which she certainly is)... but she has a good number of songs that are undoubtedly classics in popular music.

  7. I wouldn't mind seeing her in another old-Hollywood look, similar to the IB/Vogue era, but this time with a more stylized modern look...and with inspiration from some eras/ladies she hasn't touched yet (though she has done a lot). Still, so many options. Similar to what she did with the Bettie Paige look for the MET Gala and Purim Party (and not necessarily dark...though I wouldn't mind).

  8. I love Debi. Unlike so many other "friends" of Madonna that turned their back to talk shit.

Her show on Cooking Channel with her husband, "Extra Virgin", is pretty damn good. Like a mix between reality and cooking show.

I've actually made quite a few of her recipes - ALL fantastic, mind you.

I love when she's talked about getting Madonna to do some maintenance on her eyebrows back in the day, and M being so hesitant. haha.....

  9. Listen to The Beat Goes On followed by Dance 2 Night

Better yet, create a playlist with American Life and MDNA together on shuffle

You'll hear a big difference in the mixing. More importantly, you'll need to turn the sound up when a MDNA track comes on. Listen for yourself

This will only work properly if your using CD rips or iTunes files.

Ok, I'll try it out... but also, what specifically do you guys hear? Can you explain the details, so I know if I'm on the same page or not, and what to listen for....
