  1. Well she should have hire a Professional who does this things right. She's still very amateur on this things, isn't she?

Everyone involved in the filming and editing of the tour was a professional. Just because YOU don't like the style in which she did it in, does not mean the people involved were not professionals.

  2. I mean what's or how they released the show.

Ask to the European people who get the fuck up product.

For the millionth time...that's that NOT Madonna's doing...or Guy's. That's a fuck up on the part of the production company that manufactured the discs, and the distributing company. It is THEIR issue to fix... not Madonna's or Guy's.

  3. I didn't read his Michael Jackson comment in the way you guys did. To me, he's saying that the whole untouchable, hermit-like, crafted persona that Michael had, that certainly lead to the way Michael was perceived (in that almost god-like mythological way), is not how Madonna lives her life or puts herself out there.

Yes, we all know Madonna is a living legend in that sphere where only a small handful of artists dwell...but she doesn't live like Michael, she doesn't create like him, and she doesn't put herself out there in the way he did. Madonna is more tangible, relatable, in tune with what is going on in the world and how it reflects in her work. Madonna is much more present...where as Michael went and hid out for most of his life in his own world.

I don't know, maybe I'm totally reading too much into it...but that's the way it came off to me.

  4. ^Ah ha. I see now. RIT was kind of the first of M's tours (and tours in general) that relied on soley video screens to carry the visuals of the show.

Either just bad lighting design...or they just didn't know how to light for new technology at the time.

It's funny how RIT is so washed out and bland....and yet I thought the CT was far too dark, and lacked dynamic lighting design (though perhaps the emphasis on the screens is what they wanted that time around).

Sticky and MDNA certainly show that they seem to have gotten proper lighting with video screens down.

  5. Well that's Targets fault for only carrying 1 or 2 albums for each artists. They really only carry Cekebration and MDNA. I only saw Celebrstion today.

The Targets around here (CA) usually always have a bunch of Celebrations and MDNAs. But that's it.

For people saying they can't find it in stores...I don't think most big box stores even care, since most people buy through online retailers now. I mean, usually they only have the most current releases of the current top 40 artists, if even at that. The rest, like others said, is usually just stock of whatever they have left. I got sick of these big box stores not carrying the latest cd/dvd that I was always looking for, and have had to move on to places like Amazon. Sometimes it's cool...sometimes it sucks.

But the MDNA tour is a new release...I would think they would have that for at least a few weeks.

  6. Just recieved an email from Universal Berlin. They confirmed that the first batch of blu-rays produced was fucked up and they were sent to various countries. The production company is now tracing those shipments and an official statement from Universal USA is expected soon.

So it's possible that that there are countries with faulty and good discs at the same time.

This is good to know. So they are acknowledging it was a production error on their part (see, it has nothing to do with M or Guy, etc.) and hopefully are recalling and fixing them.

  7. Ok, so to keep track on this confusing stuff, this is how I've got it so far: There are two Blu-Ray versions circulating, one has a faulty picture resulting from a production error and the other doesn't have any flaws. Apparently, the faulty version is circulating not only in Europe, but also in the US. Is that correct?

What about the sound issues? Are they only paired with the picture problems or are Blu-ray versions reported where the picture is faultless, but the sound messed up?

People in the US are getting the defective Blu-Ray too? So far, it only sounds like Europe is dealing with that issue, and some of SA.

And some of the DVDs are affected too...?

I haven't heard any issues come of the US, so far....unless I'm missing something.

    This is confusing.

  8. I'm pretty dissapointed about this version:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETT0rrY9GoY&feature=youtu.be

I mean, what a simple DVD. S&S and CT are masterpieces compared to... that...

I don't know.... I thought the CT and S&S packaging wasn't very good either. They're all rather plain to me, and not what they really could be.

Plus, some use those paper box sleves instead of actual jewel cases...and I don't care for that. They get worn too quickly.

  9. Honestly, some of you collectors might not care to have these things - even if not perfect - but many of us here don't have any of these things, and the only we can see them is youtube... and quite frankly, BA deserves better.

An NTSC might not be perfect, but at least it's something. I'm sure some sort of remastering job can be done.

Plus, what's the big difference between the PAL and NTSC versions.....? Sharpness, clarity, ????

  10. William Orbit on the MDNA recording sessions:

"We were very pushed for time, due to a rather interesting and shall we just say, traditional method of recording that the esteemed engineer Demo was partial to. Great swathes of it taken up by the engineer and his assistant bouncing reverb tracks for hour after hour, night after night. Not to real tape or anything, where you could posit that there would be an advantageous sonic dividend."

So basically he fucks around and wastes time.
