  1. Madonna's a co-writer and the song was different before so it's gone through some changes. Mika even said it evolved since he worked on it. It was previously produced by William and Madonna when it was Bang Bang. Now it's produced by Madonna and The Demolition Crew.

  2. Is it bad that I'm hoping the RS reviewer isn't the Gaga stan who said BTW was better than EY because it was faster? :lmao: He didn't seem to like GMAYL nor GGW all that much, but then again, the reviews for those were kind of all over the place.

  3. Obviously, and yes they're team JANET and team MJ :lmao:

Why do Janet stans hate Madonna so much?

    It makes zero sense.

 That makes it even worse considering Madonna and MJ were the same age

I guess they're pressed nobody with sense considers Janet the Queen of Pop over Madonna.

  4. yeah, they're awful to rihanna. janet is their thing...and mariah.

and i know its cliche, but this shit about her age is pathetic. and senseless.

It is and it's stupid considering Janet and Mariah are not exactly spring chickens themselves.

  5. FORM SOMEONE WHO HAS HEARD MDNA ALREADY: I can't share it, only give an opinion. Only listened once.

You will be shocked - one way or another. It's like nothing you've heard from her in 20 years (as a whole album). It's eclectic and very interesting and thoughtful. What more can I say? Better than 'Hard Candy', more energetic than other albums but, also more quality than the last 2. Confessions crossed with Erotica. Weird - but in a really nice lovely way.

Can I ask who? What's that person's reputation? Where was that posted?

  6. Of course that troll Roger Friedman is behind that. He's so obsessed with Madonna-he goes out of her way to trash her. I never understand how certain "journalists" act that way. Aren't they supposed to be professional? Cyndi didn't even write GJWTHF. Didn't she only [co-]write on 3 or 4 out of 10 songs on She's So Unusual? She also didn't write everything on True Colors nor on A Night to Remember. I don't think she's written a greater percent of her songs than Madonna has.

  7. I posted a comment before about how MadonnaTribe stated that the extra acoustic versions were not damage control, but rather part of the original plan all along.

I wasn't saying the songs were going to be replaced by acoustic versions, I was just making a comment about those who want that because they somehow think that if it's acoustic that automatically means it has more depth. I would rather get the whole album & also the extra acoustic songs as a bonus, which seems to be what they're doing anyway.

  8. I don't get why some people automatically think that acoustic must=depth or, conversely, that some "dance" elements must=superficial. You can sing "If You're Happy & You Know It" on the guitar, just sayin'... it won't make it a Joni piece regardless. I would rather listen to the full album AND get the acoustic versions of some of the songs as a bonus, not to replace anything that I have yet to hear. I'm not sure where they're going with a banjo... country? I'll wait and see (and hope for the best). I hate to say it, but despite that PJ comment, I think that the reviews are probably going to be mild to not that great regardless of how good the output may possibly be, just given how certain elements of the press seem to be latching onto whatever "backlash" is going on right now. It's like it comes in waves. I hope I'm wrong and they're mostly pretty good if the album is.

  9. Damage control, apparently.

    Apparently not. From MadonnaTribe:

"..working on extra acoustic versions was part of M and WO's original plan"

And hadn't William previously said that the single (GMAYL) was not representative of the album? It doesn't seem like he's changing his tune.

  10. The no-fun professionalism of Madonna's new single, 'Girl Gone Wild'

    February 28, 2012 | 2:35 pm

You know how Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox are re-releasing "Titanic" in April but in magical 3-D? Hearing Madonna's latest single, "Girl Gone Wild," released on Monday, makes me wish we could do something similar with her 2000 single, "Music." It was the last time Madonna really sounded like the queen of the dance floor, tapping into the hedonistic rebellion of the club, gettin' loose.

"Girl Gone Wild," on the other hand, the second track to be released off the winkishly named "MDNA" due March 26, sounds grimly serious about the business of getting down. You can almost see Madonna narrowing her eyes, pointing at people at the Eurodisco and saying, "You. Writhe. NOW. Thank you." This is a woman, after all, who publicly took an audience member to task for spilling water on her stage when she performed at Coachella. You know, the festival in the middle of the broiling hot desert.

Recorded in London with dance music superstar Benny Benassi and his production partner/cousin, Ale Benassi, "Girl Gone Wild" is trim and taut, almost like it was once a fluffy disco tune now dieted down to a hard body of dance effiency. There's something very attractive about a song this militaristic and precise, but in Madge's too-capable hands it's also suffocatingly professional.

Over a whip-timed beat and synth call signals, Madonna dispenses with creativity and instead grabs the two nearest lyrical cliches, the title and chorus line "girls just want to have fun," without caring where either one comes from. Cyndi Lauper or Joe Francis -- who cares? She just wanted to conjure good times, people, and this is the quickest way she knew how.

Madge’s use of well-worn lines has rubbed some people the wrong way, including Francis himself. He has been beating his chest to the media, saying he sent a cease and desist letter to Madonna. She had originally titled the song in the plural, “Girls Gone Wild,” just like the Francis nudie video franchise. Her longtime manager, Guy Oseary, quickly quashed the rumor that the Material Girl changed the name of the song to appease Francis. It was simply one of the many last-minute tweaks they made to the album, he said. Besides, Oseary sniffed, Madonna doesn't even know who Francis is.

It's not that surprising that she doesn't. Can you imagine Madonna doing something as schlubby as watching late-night TV, where "Girls Gone Wild" commercials troll the airwaves? Yep, she's a good girl, that Madonna, not a wild one at all.

    -- Margaret Wappler

    L.A. Times

Isn't this the same LA Times writer who didn't like GMAYL because it was not age-appropriate, among other things? I get the feeling that regardless of what Madonna puts out musically, Margaret will disapprove. Unless it's in Streisand territory, but then she'll say that Madonna's voice is not up to par to carry off ballads.

  11. it does, but only if you pre-ordered the album between the feb. 3rd-6th. no one knows what it is yet, although it is assumed to be a remix of either GMAYL or GGW, and it won't be available to anyone who did not pre-order between the above dates.

Thanks for the info. This thing doesn't let me reply more than a certain amount of times in a certain period.

  12. Interesting that the tracklist has changed quite dramatically. Seems to be to do with M.I.A. ALthough I thought Guy said other song titles were changed? The liar.

I can't believe this album will have SIXTEEN new Madonna songs. It's almost 2 albums worth!

They changed Bang Bang to Gang Bang, maybe they're thinking of changing it back to Bang Bang again? If the lyrics that leaked are real, then it seems Bang Bang suits the song better. I'm wondering if the 3rd BB track was a last-minute add or if it was planned that way all along. The Billboard article only mentioned 2 tracks, but maybe they weren't allowed to mention the other at that point. If it's a last minute add, what got switched out? Wasn't there a report that Nicki was also on another track besides GMAYL?

  13. Just a note-the person who posted the review found it elsewhere & didn't listen to the album themselves. They also added "take it with a grain a salt" although they believed it was probably true. It seems the only "awful" songs are GMAYL & Birthday Song. They should switch out Birthday Song if it's truly bad.

I Don't Give A, I'm Addicted, Beautiful Killer, and Superstar were not mentioned.

  14. I've been thinking lately, since GGW is the album opener, I was kinda guessing/hoping that the music played during M's entrance at the Smirnoff event, is from the opening of GGW.

From what I heard, the Smirnoff event intro was done by Hardy "Indiigo" Muanza (he produced one track on the album (main album track? bonus track?), but I don't know if it's the same track as the one used in the intro).
