Yes,  the way she sings these lines with such intense pure sad emotion - the type of singing Madonna does to absolute perfection.  Why she is one of the greatest ballad singers ever.  The fact she also is one of the greatest pure pop singers who conveys joy so effortlessly too shows her incredible versatility and musical talent as a vocalist.  This can't be taught or put on.

I agree with you 100% :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

Bruce Springsteen new album has more preorders because all Madonna fans didn't preorder Madame X because they will get Madame X from ticket bundles.

Im sure that Madame X will have more first-week equivalent album units than Bruce Springsteen new album.

Bruce 's 2012.Wrecking Ball album has first week sales of 196k in US.

MDNA has first week sales of 350k.

Do Madame X tickets in UK also come with ticket bundles?

I totally get your statement about Madonna fans not pre-ordering Madame X because of the tour ticket bundles, but this is a theater tour. Average seats in these theaters are what? 2,000 seats? And even though there are many tour dates happening in cities like NYC and LA, there are TONS of Madonna fans who are not able to attend the Madame X Tour because the theaters are small and intimate. So where are THEIR pre-orders? Where are the pre-orders from the many fans that are NOT going to the Madame X Tour? That's the real question I'm wondering about. Hopefully, we will see more pre-orders happening on iTunes, Amazon, etc. and hopefully a lot of streaming during the release week and beyond on Spotify, Apple, etc.

  3. Perhaps Bruce is ahead in physical pre-orders on U.S. Amazon because his older fanbase prefers physical copies? However, Madonna is right behind him in pre-orders on the U.S. iTunes chart. It looks like streaming is going to determine who pulls ahead during release week. I don't know what Bruce's streaming presence is like, but it would be great if Madonna fans streamed her album like crazy during release week.

Cause sadly, all the streams that the released singles (Medellin, I Rise, Future, Crave) have accumulated so far do NOT count towards/are not included in the streams accumulated during the first week of release. So stream, stream, stream during the release week!

(And her tour bundle could give her the lead over Bruce)

Thanks, @Mario Lopez, for that FB link for the video. I was able to watch it, at least. There was no audio during what I assume was Dark Ballet, but it came back for Future. (So strange!) But I appreciate it!

I also was able to watch the LAP portion before that — from a French Eurovision Twitter account on the EW article. But I couldn’t make the video any larger and it cut off before Dark Ballet...

I adore the performance. A real piece of pop theater in the way only Madonna can truly do.

Loved the tech. The moments when she dances in unison with the four personas was amazing. And the way they would magically disappear into butterflies/rose petals/magic pixie dust/whatever...LOVED it.

Loved the painterly feel and use of projections and physical sets together (ps. THIS is the way you use projections Ariana).

Nice for a change to have a dream-like, uplifting and celebratory feel for the first big performance of a new era. Hasn't quite felt that way in a long while.

Her professionalism, attention to detail, and overall execution put everyone else that night to utter shame.

ps. She dances amazingly well in heels. C'mon now...she danced all over the place in those exact shoes during the RHT.

oh, and FUCK Wendell Williamson.  :newspaper:

Someone should show her the GGW number choreo from a 54yo Madonna. Puts any professional dance event to shame, let alone Paula Abdul's robotic, clichéd, basic and uninspired moves that gave birth to so many of the second and third rate choreos in pop music history.

The RHT moves were obviously slower compared to MDNA's but that was on purpose because they were two completely different tours in vibe etc

Call this Billboard performance all you want but she certainly doesn't dance like an old lady, it looked theatrical, artful, original and painterly indeed

And nice to see the phrase old lady has a lot of currency with the usual suspects of course, as if being older or old, getting older is some sort of insult or a sign of weakness. Never mind the bloated ego Basic Wendell Lady is only a few years younger than Madonna anyway. Such BS

Splash news Wendell, everyone's getting older and everyone will get old one day

    She has always been, but:

Madonna of the Madame X era is strikingly VERY VOCAL AND HONEST when voicing out her thoughts on who she is, what she stands for, and the shit state of the stupid society that fails to comprehend her as a living legendary artist.

Madame X a.k.a. Queen Midge doesn't mince her words.

Backstage Billboard interview with Keith Caulfield: She openly said to him about her singles not achieving enough success on the charts THAT SHE DESERVES and how thought-provoking elements are RARE in music these days (when complimenting Mirwais)

Instagram backstage banter: She called them out on not honouring her with any awards "AS USUAL" (not that she craves for them but simply pointing out the fact)

MTV premiere of the "Medellín" video: The strong WHAT ABOUT NOW?! response she gave to Trevor Nelson when he went on about how incredible her career was AT THE BEGINNING, and yes she ended it perfectly with the ZERO YOU-KNOW-WHAT statement

British Vogue interview: She unapologetically told us that nobody else does WHAT SHE DOES. She is a feminist who is also a mother of six children.

I hope she continues speaking out this way :queenbitch:

She also has a whole new team, new creative director - it's all a mass improvement.

And I'm totally here for that. She deserves the best!
