  1. So, our forum insider moe already posted that Madonna would be collaborating with Miley, so either E! picked up on that or we have ourselves another performance!

Get ready for the pop music world to implode! I can exclusively reveal that Miley Cyrus' surprise guest performer for her upcoming MTV Unplugged special is none other than Madonna! Yes, Miley and Madonna singing together!

Sources tell me that the two were on a Hollywood soundstage earlier today rehearsing the collaboration.

No word on what exactly they'll be performing, but does it really matter? They could read the telephone book together and the world would watch and listen.

Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged tapes tomorrow (I'll be there!) and will air on the music network Wednesday night at 9 p.m.

"The performance will showcase a more intimate side of Cyrus and feature surprise guests for an unexpected re-invention of the songs that have defined her career, including several from her #1 critically acclaimed album, Bangerz," MTV said in a press release last week. "Miley and her fans have always had an intimate and direct connection through her music, personality and no-holds-barred attitude and the Unplugged stage will serve as the perfect platform for her to show viewers what inspires and ignites her music and her passions."

Madonna most recently teamed up with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at the Grammys for the hip-hop duo's performance of "Same Love." Cyrus kicks off her 38-cityBangerz tour on Feb. 14 in Vancouver, Canada.

Cyrus actually compared herself to Madge shortly after her infamous performance with Robin Thicke (and her foam finger) at MTV's Video Music Awards last month.

"Last night, I was talking about some Madonna performances, and I said, 'At some point, everything becomes irrelevant.' Like, no one even thinks about when she did 'Like a Virgin' at the VMAs," the former Disney darling told the New York Times. "That just becomes a standard, where it's just like, 'Oh, that's her thing.' So, I feel like now that I did the VMAs, that just kind of became a standard for me, and then anytime I do anything else, they're like, 'Miley kept it tame tonight.'"

  2. All day long I have been repeating in my mind the Same Love performance. I've cried a lot today and I have been telling coworkers and family and friends that I feel a little down but in reality I I've felt at peace for the first time in along time. You see, I am a closeted gay man that is to weak and I fear the worse if I come out. Madonna kicked my ass last night and I dreamed she was upset with me. I am planning to come out to my family even though they may already know. While I was watching the performance and the power of Macklemore's words and Madonna's sincere gentle, almost fragile voice and seeing the brave gay couples who were so happy exchanging rings, it was like I was hit by lightning and I was sobbing uncontrollable for the joy of the moment but also for my intense guilt of living a life of a lie, thank God I was all alone in my apartment. I want so badly to be myself and after all these years of loving Madonna, I will be who I am. I owe it to her, I owe it to myself.

This is beautiful. Seriously, this is what that performance was all about. The best to you, just say yes, and we're all here for you! :inlove:

  3. I've watched the performance another five times and it just gets better. She looks amazing (how people are saying she looks eighty is beyond me) and she sounds great. You can hear in her voice how passionate she was singing Open Your Heart. That comment about Open Your Heart being to bigots makes a lot of sense and really pulls the whole performance together. It's great.

Also, I love how when she comes out, there's this roar from the audience and Queen Latifah feeds off that and gets louder and then the audience gets louder as she announces that the couples are officially married. People just love M. :inlove:

  4. Adreeeyen, do you remember when the 1st Gen of Pokemon was out? Jnyx's appearance was a HUGE DEAL for a lot of Americans. They not only banned an entire episode featuring her, they eventually changed her entire look; she's more purple-ish.

Oh yeah, I don't remember it when it happened but I've read about how all that happened. I can get why Nintendo might make that slip up, but really, Jynx really did look like those old Mammy caricatures. It's actually kinda creepy in that way.

Thanks for the education tho. :thumbsup:Unsurprisingly, the only time I was taught anything about blackface in my education was when we watched the film "The Jazz Singer" and it sure as he'll wasn't thorough.

  5. There are moments when I wish I could have experience the Madonna Hype at it's peak, but for the most part, I'm glad I missed the early eras. I have a thing for feisty older women, so her current incarnation (M Dolla - Now) is my favorite Madonna.

    She's foxy & 50+ in fishnets :wow:
