Love it 10/10.
The video is 10/10 even without her in it.
I agree with others - I feel like it could’ve been longer. I also think this has great potential for remixes. Not “disco stomper” ones but something like The XX’s Basic Space (Jamie XX Space Bass Mix).

Does anyone know the lyrics to the vocoder part???
I think it is a Joan of Arc speech/quote.

I found it a weird article and was a bit surprised that people’s reactions here were so positive. I thought maybe I had missed something.
It did contain some interesting commentary and it wasn’t necessarily negative but I thought for an interview there didn’t seem like much “interview”. Especially now knowing how much time they spent together and how much access she had - it seems odd. Vanessa Grigoriadis is clearly no Norman Mailer.
On a side note - I looked at her twitter briefly yesterday. She quoted the BTS comment from the article in a tweet and was getting abused by BTS fans.

I'm really looking forward to this song. I intrigued how the Nutcracker sample is worked in. Less than 2 weeks until the album comes out!!

They also beefed up the backing track music. Its not that flat anymore.
Thank god. Been watching the official upload video now on repeat. I love it.
As I said. It sounded the same to me as it did on the Eurovision YouTube channel.

I'm not sure what is going on.
I just watched the Vevo version on her channel and I'm pretty sure there was nothing different regarding vocals compared to the streamed version I watched on the Eurovision Youtube channel?!?!
I'm not sure why people are saying they cleaned up her vocals because to me I didn't hear a difference.
Was there something wrong with the television broadcast? I can only go off both videos I've watched so far and neither are as terrible as what people are saying. As has been pointed out she has had far far far worse vocal performances so I don't know why THIS is being singled out. It wasn't even that bad?

I am also surprised about the result. I thought that Labor had it in the bag. I suppose they did too. While Adani played a massive role in QLD I think the other policies that hurt them considerably were the proposed changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax. Also changes to franking credits for retirees. Australians have a fetish for property investment and people who I know who’ve ALWAYS voted Labor voted Liberal this election. I on the other hand voted Labor for the first time in my life as my priorities were more social / environmental than economic. I also thought Labor put forward some innovative initiatives and would’ve been more likely to pursue better longer term economic changes (rather than short term ones like the tax cuts promised by Libs.).

Damn almost 40 years in and a Eurovision performance has ended her career. Who would've thought.
Seriously the hysteria by the media and some members here is next level.
-
I thought it was a good performance. I liked the special effects and the staging. I honestly didn't think her vocals were that bad at all.

Sorry if this has already been posted. Interview at about 2:22:00 and performance at 2:44:00.

Is it just me or are all these songs slowly creating the Madame X album universe...it’s slowly becoming more clear. All these different sonic genres meshed with a solid production and her knack for melodies, to fuse together a “futuristic world” record...
i think this is the best use of a new vocal technique+vocoder. It was hard to digest but the more you listen, the more ambitious and experimental it feels.

Love it. The lyrics. The trumpets. The Don't Tell Me reference. I think Madame X will end up being one of my favorite albums of all time. And to think she's this far in her career and can still produce such incredible music. While I loved RH (top 3 for me) this era keeps blowing me away. It's a reminder why I love her so much. There is no one like her.

Yep love it. Damn they sound so good together. Between this and Medellin, I feel like he is her best collaborator. This sounds like a hit to me. The lyrics are so good especially the outro. Regardless if it's on her album or his, I really think it needs to be a single. We are getting so spoilt this era. She has not put a foot wrong with anything. Can't wait for "Bitch I'm Loca".
-
This definitely more sounds reggaeton like compared to Medellín. The clip sound great though. The first part is a different song right? Or is it all Soltera?

Thanks for the scans. Great interview, only wish it was longer.
The photos are incredible.

True. Am seeing rave reviews everywhere on this forum. We are not even getting the trolls which is fantastic. Noticed a lot more trolls when Rebel Heart was released.
In general I'm seeing a lot of positivity about the entire Madame X era. Not just here but in the media in general. It feels like most people actually want her to succeed. I think that there is such a drought in creativity from the current artists that Madame X is a refreshing change. People are actually recognizing her artistry.
-
BTW is it strange we haven't been told of a video date? Medellin had a big release but there is no news about a video for the "official" first single unless I've missed it?
-
I feel like the verses are the best part. The lyrics are legit.

3. I Rise 8/10 I love the chorus.
Extremely happy with all 3 releases thus far

After spending the day listening to it I think this is my favorite track of all three so far. Can’t stop listening. Even more so than Medellín.

Current time In Melbourne, Australia
11:14am, Friday 10 May 19.
Song came out (legally) at midnight. Do people not understand time zones?

The “Ooohs” remind me of the chorus of “Veni, Vidi, Vici “

It's actually quite a sweet and hypnotic song.
The lyrics and song
are addictive. It's stuck in my head... MADONNA & Swae Lee voices together are
AF‼
Yeah I agree. The lyrics are incredibly sweet and I think she sounds amazing. I really like sound of the music too. Especially the guitar at the beginning.
She has yet to disappoint me with any of the tracks released so far. I would probably say I Rise is the weakest of the three though.

Yes, the prices in Europe are also very high. I have to buy a new parfum, how is Vetiver Extraordinaire? Is it too classic?
It’s a woody fragrance which I prefer. Try this site for review / description.
