i was raped man and i think the way she uses the word rape is tacky and tasteless and cringe, she should retire it because having a lukewarm interview on the new york times isn't the same as getting raped... end of

So her experience wasn't "rapey" enough for you. Seriously fuck off. This isn't even a Madonna issue. Honestly how the fuck do metaphors help rape victims. It's like saying people can't say "killed" in case you know someone who was murdered. Rather than focus on actual victims and their problems lets focus on the insignificant. The "right" wing do it too. You can't use war as a metaphor because its offensive. This shit really fucking irks me.

That said, I think Madonna is overreacting and to publicly shame someone like that is nasty. Maybe she had a bad day, did the label send her numbers for albums presales or something.

I genuinely liked you back in the day but you have legit turned into a proper fuckhead. This comment alone is the epitome of cognitive dissonance. Fuck off back to the other shore and the riverwide circle jerk.

Your attempts at being an intellectual are so pathetic I can understand why you're such a miserable human being.

Before hearing Vogue you probably didn't even know who Bette Davis or Marlene Dietrich were and now you have the audacity to look down on Madonna for not meeting your absurd expectations. Seriously go fuck yourself.

  3. Love it 10/10.

The video is 10/10 even without her in it.

I agree with others - I feel like it could’ve been longer.  I also think this has great potential for remixes. Not “disco stomper” ones but something like The XX’s Basic Space (Jamie XX Space Bass Mix).

  4. I found it a weird article and was a bit surprised that people’s reactions here were so positive. I thought maybe I had missed something.

It did contain some interesting commentary and it wasn’t necessarily negative but I thought for an interview there didn’t seem like much “interview”.  Especially now knowing how much time they spent together and how much access she had - it seems odd. Vanessa Grigoriadis is clearly no Norman Mailer.

On a side note - I looked at her twitter briefly yesterday. She quoted the BTS comment from the article in a tweet and was getting abused by BTS fans. 😬

  5. I'm not sure what is going on.

I just watched the Vevo version on her channel and I'm pretty sure there was nothing different regarding vocals compared to the streamed version I watched on the Eurovision Youtube channel?!?!

I'm not sure why people are saying they cleaned up her vocals because to me I didn't hear a difference.

Was there something wrong with the television broadcast? I can only go off both videos I've watched so far and neither are as terrible as what people are saying. As has been pointed out she has had far far far worse vocal performances so I don't know why THIS is being singled out. It wasn't even that bad?

  6. I am also surprised about the result. I thought that Labor had it in the bag. I suppose they did too. While Adani played a massive role in QLD I think the other policies that hurt them considerably were the proposed changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax. Also changes to franking credits for retirees. Australians have a fetish for property investment and people who I know who’ve ALWAYS voted Labor voted Liberal this election. I on the other hand voted Labor for the first time in my life as my priorities were more social / environmental than economic. I also thought Labor put forward some innovative initiatives and would’ve been more likely to pursue better longer term economic changes (rather than short term ones like the tax cuts promised by Libs.).

Is it just me or are all these songs slowly creating the Madame X album universe...it’s slowly becoming more clear. All these different sonic genres meshed with a solid production and her knack for melodies, to fuse together a “futuristic world” record...

i think this is the best use of a new vocal technique+vocoder. It was hard to digest but the more you listen, the more ambitious and experimental it feels.

    +1

  8. Love it. The lyrics. The trumpets. The Don't Tell Me reference. I think Madame X will end up being one of my favorite albums of all time. And to think she's this far in her career and can still produce such incredible music. While I loved RH (top 3 for me) this era keeps blowing me away. It's a reminder why I love her so much. There is no one like her.

  9. Yep love it. Damn they sound so good together. Between this and Medellin, I feel like he is her best collaborator. This sounds like a hit to me. The lyrics are so good especially the outro. Regardless if it's on her album or his, I really think it needs to be a single. We are getting so spoilt this era. She has not put a foot wrong with anything. Can't wait for "Bitch I'm Loca".

True.  Am seeing rave reviews everywhere on this forum.  We are not even getting the trolls which is fantastic.  Noticed a lot more trolls when Rebel Heart was released.

In general I'm seeing a lot of positivity about the entire Madame X era. Not just here but in the media in general. It feels like most people actually want her to succeed. I think that there is such a drought in creativity from the current artists that Madame X is a refreshing change. People are actually recognizing her artistry.
