  1. Haven't seen one of these in awhile what are you top 10 live performances?

    10. La Isla Bonita DWT

    9. Music Grammy's

    8. La Isla Bonita/Lela Pale Tute Live Earth

    7. Justify My Love Girlie Show

    6. Express Yourself BAT

    5. Sooner or Later Oscars

    4. Open Your Heart WTG

    3. Hung Up CT

    2. Vogue/Music/Gimme All Your Luvin'/Like a Prayer Superbowl

    1. Vogue MTV

  2. This is the only song I can say that I think is truly dreadful, I guess all Madonna albums have ONE, but then again, this isn't on the album proper so there you go. I even like B'Day Song more than this

Honestly it sounds like something Samantha Mumba or Vitamin C might've recorded in 2001 :rotfl:

  3. Probably my favorite song on the album! This song is INCREDIBLE! Her voice is just amazing. Lyrically it reminds me kinda of Til Death Do Us Part, musically the strings remind me of Papa Don't Preach. I thought GB would be my favorite song on the album, but this has been on repeat the most. The chorus and background vocals are just fucking AWESOME!! This to me is classic Madonna.

  4. 1. Some Girls 10/10: Really catchy 80's sounding, just overall awesome. Reminds me of one of the AL remixes. Also reminds me of another non-madonna song from the 80's.

    2. Gang Bang 10/10: Production is amazing on this song. The end gets a little OTT though.

    3. Best Friend 10/10: I love her voice on this, sounds like her 80's vocals!! I love the way she sings "Still I have no regrets, cos I survived the biggest test." It's likely this will become my favorite song on the album.

    4. I Don't Give A 9/10: Really like the production on this and Nicki's appearance. Catchy lyrics, good vocals.

    5. Love Spent 9/10: When I first heard the snippet I don't believe I was a big fan. The whole song though is great, particularly the start. If she didn't use her high-pitched Evita vocals towards the end it would probably be a 10.

    6. Beautiful Killer 8/10: Great song, I like the production but again those high pitched vocals get annoying on the chorus.

    7. I'm a Sinner 8/10: Pretty good song, I like the 60's sound.

    8. Girl Gone Wild 7/10: Good song, good video.

    9. Turn Up The Radio 7/10: Ok song, but the vocals are a bit shit.

    10. Gimme All Your Lovin' 7/10: Good song but I really haven't listened to it for a while. I think this is one song where the live performances will be better then the album version.

    11. Masterpiece 7/10: Not a bad ballad. Nice lyrics.

    12. Superstar 6.5/10: Production is good, voice is good, lyrics are VERY shit.

    13. I'm Addicted 6/10: Really don't know what it is about this song but it just gets annoying after listening a couple times. Especially the way she sings "I'm a addicted to your LAAAAARRRRRVVVV"

    14. Fallin' Free 5/10: Annoying Evita vocals again borderline operatic. She over-enunciates the words which sounds odd. Good lyrics but she doesn't have that passion in her voice like she does in her older ballads.

    15. B'Day Song 4/10: The music isn't too bad I like MIA, but again her voice is annoying. "Ooooooooooon" "Soooooooooooong" "Giiiiiiiiirrrrrrl"

    16. I Fucked Up 4/10: I only like the fast bit half way through the song. Other then that it's just annoying.

Overall I would probably rate the album a solid 8.5/10 or 4/5. Definitely up there with her best albums.

  5. I think it's all about taking risks and my point was that even though she is releasing "safe" singles she is still struggling to get AirPlay. She can say fuck it and release something totally unexpected and she/they might be surprised. I would argue also about being only a fan favorite as most of the album reviews have highlighted it as a stand out track. GMAYL to me is more of a fan favorite as really other then hard core fans the general public seemed pretty indifferent to it. GB would make waves and I think it's totally catchy enough for people to take notice.

If I remember correctly Music was trashed when it leaked as it wasn't commercial enough for it to be a single! She took the risk with it and it was a massive hit. Ultimately though I really don't care about her chart performance. Honestly if she got a number 1 with GMAYL it wouldn't make me like the song more even though I do think it's a good song!

  6. Seriously my favorite clip so far. Can't wait for the full song! I can't see why this couldn't have been a single. So what if it's not "radio friendly" it's not like the current singles have set the chart on fire with their radio frIendliness.

  7. Generally I find her remixes generic and lame but that's probably because she gets crap people to remix her music. Oakenfold? Tracey Young? Rauhoffer? Aside from Oakenfold I hardly ever hear about her remixers other then in relation to her. It's like all they do is remix her music.

She really needs to get out more or jump on some music blogs or something.

I think really the only good ones she had were by Stuart around COADF.

  8. Looks like the acoustic version of Love Spent is the untitled bonus track in iTunes! Great reviews. Really interested to hear some of the songs mentioned. Some sound terrible on paper but they seems to be the best tracks!

  9. I like the song. I like the vocals. It has a sing-a-long quality to it that's been missing from a lot of her music for a while that I think the general public (specifically females) will like.

I think the song will do well simply for the fact that there is a lot of negativity here. I think someone has mentioned this in another thread somewhere but when Hung Up was released it got a very similar reaction! Now it's a classic and COADF is one of her best albums!

Overall though it really doesn't bother me what other people think, I enjoy it, and I think I will enjoy the album so really that's enough for me. GGW is already better then half the crap on the radio at the moment anyway. Both songs, GMAYL and GGW have a "happy" sound to them which, even before she described Solveig's music as "happy", I said here that I hoped she'd make a "happy" sounding album. I am surprised that she didn't lead the album with this song and perform this at the Superbowl! Even though GMAYL had the cheerleader theme to tie in with the SB this seems like a stronger single.

Can't wait to see her perform this live and I can't wait for the video or the album! Only 4 weeks to go!

  10. Totally rocked! Even better then what I thought it would be. Her entrance was incredible and the roar of the crowd was amazing considering how much crap she was getting for not being a good pick for the half time show. I thought everything worked well. I actually liked the choreography a lot. Maybe JK has been inspired recently. Vogue was easily the best, and Music was pretty awesome too. Loved the shuffling part. GMAYL was a bit weak I thought but still had some great moments. Loved the marching band and the little bit of OYH! LAP was good too and was a good way to end the show! Cee-Lo did alright and he really annoys me most of the time, I think his part still works better with a female vocalist though. The screen on the floor looked kick ass especially the 3D effect it made during the Vogue. Truly think it was one of her greatest performances ever so hopefully it pays off for her. It's a bit disappointing the people can't just appreciate it for its entertainment value without nit picking at the smallest things. BTW I loved her little slip during Music, made her seem a little human and she recovered fine! But seriously that entrance!!!!

Also I would like to say that yeah the whole Cleopatra thing did remind me of Kylie a bit but I think it was a perfect theme for the Super Bowl! And clearly Madonna did it on a more epic scale!
