  1. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the minority among fans  in which most of the things the majority of the fans dislike or hate, I like or love:

    - Spanish Lesson

    - RIT

    - GMAYL

    - The American Life album

    - American Life single and the rap!!!

    - The Majorette section of MDNA

    - Inside of Me

    - GHV2

    - Jimmy Jimmy

Is anyone in the same boat?

I like them. Some more than others.

One of the biggest things that I'm in the minority for though is I'm not a fan of ROL the song or the album and I think the video for it is so shit.

  2. How does this have anything to do with promotion? Maybe she just showed up to pay the favor because she wanted to, and she's friendly with some of the names involved, and it was also about having big celebrity guests on a Christmas special...?

It doesn't. I think it says a lot about her (in a good way) that she feels she doesnt need to do promo for her music anymore but is happy to just show up at random stuff when she feels like it!

This is the pizza box received by redditor _GO_AWAY_ after asking in the special instructions field for the pizza delivery guy's "deepest, darkest secret." I think this is a lie. You don't get to be a pizza delivery guy without seeing some shit. You spend your life entering people's homes. Strangers at their hungriest and neediest call you to come to them and bring them sustenance when they have nowhere else to turn. The pizza delivery guy deals exclusively with the desperate. You don't walk the night with an insulated pizza sleeve unless you're willing to carry a whole lot more secrets than just "I like to rock out to 'Vogue'."

  4. I don't think I will bother signing up and asking her a question but if I did I would probably ask about how her view of Judaism differs to her view of Christianity. As we all know throughout her entire career she has been inspired by her Catholic upbringing and not always in a positive way. She has pushed back against many aspects of "organised" religion (specifically Catholicism) yet she seems to have a very strong belief in Judaism. (Following the Sabbath, eating kosher etc) Does she accept Judaism more readily than Christianity and if so why?

  5. The thing I hate about the Miley performance isn't that it was "shocking" (It really wasnt to me) but that she looked fucking disgusting while trying to come off as sexy. Her dancing was terrible and that fucking thing she does with her tongue makes her look like a stroke victim. The whole thing was just cringeworthy not shocking. Rihanna could have done the exact same performance and actually make it good. Plus I hate when priviledged white people try be all ghetto and black.

  6. Invent an app that promotes some shit, counts all of the songs downloaded as album sales and just makes up your own sales numbers. Hang on where have I heard of this strategy before?

I reckon Madonna just needs a killer first single and film clip. I reckon the world is ready for a Madonna revival/ mania once again! It is just up to her to deliver the goods ( and pick singles correctly) and not shit like 4 minutes and GMAYL!

Not the kind of app I was referring to at all but whatever.

  7. Not sure if it would be feasible but rather than try keep everything under wraps to try prevent a leak maybe she should be more transparent while making the album. Similar to how Stuart "previewed" tracks anonymously for COADF, she could share some clips and teasers throughout the making of the album. Some music services like Spotify have "apps" so she might be able to cut a deal for an "exclusive" one with them prior to the launch of the full album. In addition to posting exclusive content to the app they can promote her on their service. They might even be able to work out a deal that she gets money for every person who joins the service just to have access to her app or something along those lines. Imagine the promotion a service would get with "Exclusive Madonna content" being reported by all the major news outlets! She makes more money from touring and other endeavors than solely selling her music so I don't think it'd be a big deal if she did give away some content for "free." Also when choosing singles I think they should pay more attention to how songs a "trending" on the internet. Again services like Spotify and last.fm allow you to see the most popular tracks by artists, by releasing these tracks I think there is a greater chance at having successful singles.

Another cool thing I think she could do is do a mini show like Roseland performing the new songs BEFORE the album is released. I think live performances make a huge difference to how the music is perceived. I know for me personally some songs that I haven't liked listening to an album become favorites after seeing a live performance. Also it's kind of like the old days before she had a record deal where she would play clubs and stuff to get people interested. Again I think the press she would get if she was to launch new music in a mini show streaming online would be massive. It may also soften the blow of a likely leak which doesn't get much press in the mainstream news. Plus I think it would be a really cool experience for fans since now instead of looking forward to an album "release date" we look forward to a "leak date." If she "leaked" some of the music on her own terms I think it would give her more control ultimately. Again she could promote the event and stream it through some kind of social network like Facebook or Youtube or something and set up some exclusive deal for access. (She might even be able to start "rehearsing" for a tour while she makes the album and the mini-show. Could be a more efficient way to plan it all?!)

In addition to this she can do all the usual TV and radio promotion to maintain the momentum. Hopefully another Letterman interview!! Throw in some random public appearances. (Fly to Australia for a week to do some promotion and to announce the tour there :) Did you see the MASSIVE response Ellen got here and she didn't even film any shows!!! ) Maybe do a bit of an autobiography/retrospective of some of her key work. A "Madonna in her own words" kind of thing to help her re-connect with people and remind them of her impact on pop culture. I know she doesn't like to "look back" on her work but she can relate it to things that are going on today.

Anyway I think I'm rambling so I will leave it there.

*Note when I say "app" I don't mean some artsy fartsy gaga shit either that is supposed to be some "experience." I mean simply an outlet where she can release exclusive content prior to the album.

  8. I missed the broadcast but I've just started watching the whole thing on YouTube now and I really can't believe how ABYSMAL Girl Gone Wild was..The only kind of music software I've ever worked with is Garageband and I could have mixed the sound better. The music is so tinny and flat and the vocals are so LOUD without an ounce of reverb. The editing of the footage was also really bad..Hope it gets better :(

I think it might be the Youtube quality. I watched in it better quality on Dailymotion and I think it sounded better. Might just be me though.

  9. I've only been able to watch the Youtube/Dailymotion clips but so far the whole thing looks pretty fucking awesome.

The only few issues, the editing in GGW wasn't that great. I thought they could've shown off the stage a bit more, especially the first time the platforms raise because they are just awesome. It was also a bit disappointing not to see more of the backdrop during the breakdown section! The only other issue I had was TUTR and the different costumes. It didn't bother me at all everywhere else but here it just looked a bit odd and messed with the flow. Other than those small issues everything else rocked.

    Some thoughts:

I'm so glad she changed her pants for the opening. The patented leather pants worked so much better than the jeans.

The editing in GB was awesome especially the "fight" part.

LAV and LS in B&W were awesome. I know a few people didn't like the "slideshow" but she looked incredible and the photos looked like they were from the 30's. Loved all the people throwing money at her while she was half naked. (I think I've watched these clips the most!)

Loved the audience participation in LAP. (And in general! I recognised a few faces from the forums over the years! Particularly Kat!! Maybe San!?)

The performances for I'm Addicted and I'm a Sinner made me like the songs a lot more!

    Celebration was a great ending.

Overall I think it's probably her best tour film! The colours were so good! The sound was great. The energy was high! Can't wait to watch in HD!!
