Compared to the initial response the album received elsewhere, even in the US, I still think in Australia it was a fairly unremarkable performance. Whereas she had all 6 songs occupying the top 10's around the world, here only LFL briefly made the top 10 and as I said earlier none of them are even in the top 100 anymore. (Yes, I realise this is only a pre-order) It's not just this though, I don't think radio really respects her anymore. A new Madonna release used to be a big event, now they'll barely even play her on the radio. There seems to be so little mention of her anymore here.

Realistically her fans are older and not really the kind of people to sit around requesting her music on radio. Seriously who the fuck has time for that? Outside the US though where charts are based on sales I think she has a pretty good chance at still getting a few hits. And I think album sales will continue to be steady for her. I don't think this is a bad thing really. Of course big hits would still be amazing but like many have said she really has nothing left to prove.
In regards to Australia though, I think there is definitely a backlash here since she's snubbed us for so many tours. Radio really don't give a shit about her anymore and I hear less and less about her unless they are making fun of her. Maybe some other Aussie members will disagree with me. Honestly unless she announces a tour here before Rebel Heart is released, I think she'll have a massive failure with this album. Just look at the itunes charts, none of the songs are even in the TOP 100 here and the album is at like 44. Radio really have no incentive to play her anymore because she continues to ignore us. This is sad because I think she is or at least was the most successful solo female artist in Australia and she has always done so well here.

RE: DListed Michael K seems to like her but will occasionally make fun of her. Most of the recent articles on Madonna that are pretty nasty are from the other writer Allison.

This song grabbed me immediately. I really liked the demo version, but the final album version is just amazing.
On a personal level, the lyrics and country vibe of the song could be a chapter of my life story. I've been sober for almost 6 years and everything she's talking about; saving your soul, substituting substances for getting closer to God, or the Light, or just numbing your senses... It's very close to home for me.
And the way she says 'whiskey' makes me melt. It's like being back in the Smoky Mountains in Kentucky where I was born and where my Dad still lives. She's got a definite Loretta Lynn vibe going on in some of the songs, but this one has a magically bluegrass/Nashville sensibility that makes it that much more genuine and honest. I can't wait to see this one LIVE!!!!

Still my favorite. What a killer track.
Love her voice, love the bass, love the auto-tuned vocals in the background of the chorus and the "gasping/moaning".
Hoping there are more songs on the album in this style. Definitely hoping for an EPIC performance of this too!!
Is it just me or does anyone else get Dolly Parton vibes from this? Surprisingly I think this would've been a great collaboration for them!

My second favorite after Devil Prays. Personally I would've chosen it for the 1st single.
I actually thought the lyrics sounded pretty lame when I read them, but they aren't so bad in the song.
Love these parts:
Now you say it that you're sorry, I don't wanna know
Better face the fact you had to go
andYou know you never really knew how much you loved me, till you lost me?
Did you?
You know you never knew how much your selfish bullshit cost me?
Well, fuck you -
It's growing on me slightly. My equalizer in Spotify must be configured differently because her voice is a bit softer than in iTunes.
I am so glad everyone is loving it though and it seems to be getting good reviews. I'm sure with some live performances and the video it will grow on me more.
I can already see it as the finale of the next tour.

Sorry I can't. "Living for laaaarrrrrrrvve" It's all I hear and I find it irritating. It's the only one of the 6 I don't like.
Yes I know! I'm a terrible fan! I don't know what I'm talking about.
-
Itunes is trolling me. At first it wouldn't let me purchase it, then it did, and now it says there are issues downloading the tracks. And I don't know how to make it try again.
Oh jacket, I'm feeling for you. Haha

Yeah, they do. I've been listening to it for like an hour.

My favorite track out of the 6. I didn't listen to demo version so I don't know how it is different.
She sounds awesome on it!

In the UK store, Living for Love is listed as a SINGLE release on 22nd Dec
I guess that settles it unfortunately.

Didn't listen to the leaks but based off the 6 iTunes tracks:
Living For Love: Not feeling it. At all. Can barely listen to it. F
Devil Prays: Stands out most for me. Love the bass on this and her voice is EPIC. My favorite of all! A+
Ghosttown: Enjoyable, nice lyrics. Her voice sounds great! B
Unapologetic Bitch: The reggae vibe threw me off at first, but on repeat listens its actually a pretty damn good song. Love her singing style on this and her voice sounds good. Can see this possibly becoming a favorite. Just below Devil Prays. A+ (I probably would've picked this for the 1st single)
Illuminati: Another great track!! Kind experimentalish, bit controversial but listenable. "Everybody in this party, shining like Illuminati" is quotable. Probably equal with UB. A+
Bitch I'm Madonna: Another strong track, great beat, great lyrics, her voice is a tad annoying in the verses. Nicki sounds great on this too and I'm generally not a fan of hers. Put this slightly above Ghosttown. B+
Overall, I think the album is shaping up to be pretty EPIC. They seriously need to ditch LFL as lead/promo single though.
(BTW I think that album cover might just be my favorite EVER, also loved the Erotica style font they've used)

On first listen:
Devil Prays > Illuminati > Unapologetic Bitch > Bitch I'm Madonnna > Ghosttown > Living For Love

Its in the AUS store!!!!!
-
Once again Australian fans get shafted!! Still not in the Aus store.
And I didn't even listen to the leaks!!
-
I'm not judging anyone for listening! Like I said for me personally I just don't want to be tired of the songs before the album even comes out. Plus I don't want the proper versions to feel like "remixes" if you get what I mean. Anyway I hope the album will be out soon!!
-
I'm just waiting for the inevitable "The demo version was better" posts...
-
Or is it just me?
Other than Rebel Heart and Wash All Over Me I haven't listened to any of the new tracks that have leaked. Not for any noble reasons, I just don't want the demos to cloud my judgement when the actual album comes out. I might listen to them AFTER but for now I don't want to get used to them and have the songs feel "old" when the album is finally released. I just think it'll take the excitement out.
So has anyone else not listened?

Editorial preview. She looks like Iggy lolol
Holy mother of God. This right here is why I still love her.
(The covers are a bit eh though, the first one is probably the best. Could be the low quality of the pics though)

Isn't A$AP Ferg on the album too? And what about Skrillex and Disclosure?
Is this the moment where charts finally don't matter

Yeah I agree, radio here is pretty terrible. I pretty much only listen to Triple J. I also try to avoid anything to do with The Voice/X Factor/Idol etc. I don't think she is forgotten here so much more as you say, she is not promoted here. Not only has she ignored us with touring but simple promotion by her has been non-existent. I doubt she really cares because if she did she obviously wouldn't have skipped us on so many tours. But I think it's definitely damaged her legacy here. The MDNA Tour fiasco seemed to be the final nail.
