  1. Didn't listen to the leaks but based off the 6 iTunes tracks:

Living For Love: Not feeling it. At all. Can barely listen to it. F

Devil Prays: Stands out most for me. Love the bass on this and her voice is EPIC. My favorite of all! A+

Ghosttown: Enjoyable, nice lyrics. Her voice sounds great! B

Unapologetic Bitch: The reggae vibe threw me off at first, but on repeat listens its actually a pretty damn good song. Love her singing style on this and her voice sounds good. Can see this possibly becoming a favorite. Just below Devil Prays. A+ (I probably would've picked this for the 1st single)

Illuminati: Another great track!! Kind experimentalish, bit controversial but listenable. "Everybody in this party, shining like Illuminati" is quotable. Probably equal with UB. A+

Bitch I'm Madonna: Another strong track, great beat, great lyrics, her voice is a tad annoying in the verses. Nicki sounds great on this too and I'm generally not a fan of hers. Put this slightly above Ghosttown. B+

Overall, I think the album is shaping up to be pretty EPIC. They seriously need to ditch LFL as lead/promo single though.

(BTW I think that album cover might just be my favorite EVER, also loved the Erotica style font they've used)

  2. Or is it just me?

Other than Rebel Heart and Wash All Over Me I haven't listened to any of the new tracks that have leaked. Not for any noble reasons, I just don't want the demos to cloud my judgement when the actual album comes out. I might listen to them AFTER but for now I don't want to get used to them and have the songs feel "old" when the album is finally released. I just think it'll take the excitement out.

So has anyone else not listened?

  3. Are you guys aiming for something really contemporary sounding with it?

I wouldn’t say were trying to nail 2014. With most artists, Dahi and I try to approach it from a longevity standpoint. Especially if we’re pitching beats to someone its like, Is this fucking hot this month? Because this record won’t be out for another year. That can be stressful, but the bottom line is like making room for the song, because the song is really what stands the test of time. I feel like right now a lot of pressure to get that single, and get that dance tune. That’s probably the coolest thing about Madonna. She has been doing so many records for so long, it’s kind of irrelevant to try to fit into the now.

I don't think he's referring to Madonna, I think he's speaking generally. I read the quote as "Especially if we’re pitching beats to someone its like, Is this fucking hot this month because this record won’t be out for another year."

  4. Melbourne :) On 17 October, Madonna Australia will be hosting a screening of In Bed With Madonna with an after party to celebrate the John Paul Gaultier exhibition - we have full approvals by JPG's team and the National Gallery of Victoria - details / tickets are on Madonna Australia on Facebook or Twitter or ask me :)

For those of us too lazy to check the FB page, where is the screening being held?

  5. She sounds amazing here:

It annoys me that people call her a shit singer. I'd rather listen to her than Mariah and Christina etc and their oversinging. I hate that style and it's probably the reason I avoid all the American Idol type shows. Thats what they consider to be "amazing" and I really find it annoying more than anything. Sadly I feel Madonna has drifted to that style of singing as she's gotten older. I miss her "old" voice but many fans maintain that her voice hasn't changed.
