I tried just there to purchase it from UK iTunes but it is still listed as pre-order(the remixes album)? Am I missing something?
Thats good the release date has been brought forward by a day as it will maximise chart impact next week as chart starts from today if that makes sense!

With 5m BDS audience, "Celebration" would need to sell around 18K-20K to re-enter the Hot 100 (though the criteria varies from week to week).

The numbers I saw (3xPlatinum) was for a local singer and it said 600.000 copies

I remember it was 200.000 for 1xP a few monthes in 2006.
before 2006 it was 300.000
now it is 100.000
I know there's a big piracy market in Russia... but how come the local acts doesn't get "copied" as much?
1. Russia is rather patriotic country
we had several 500.000-1.500.000 sellers (legal copies) last years: albums by Dima Bilan (Eurovision 2008 winner), Zemfira, Maksim
2. The price
average price for domestic albums: 4$
average price for international albums (local release): 7-8$
3. 80-90% of international albums don't get the release on the day of the world release.
Hard Candy was released in july 2008 (2 monthes after the world release). it was just import copies from Warner Germany in may and june in the stores (25$, 15.000 had been sold). Local company aka Warner Russia get more money with this strategy even the market was full of pirated copies (4$) in may and june.
thats why pirates prefer copy international albums
and their legal sales are not so great
