  1. If it's created "in partnership" with the Bob Marley Estate...doesn't some of the responsibility fall with them?

Who's running his estate? They need to be read for filth.

Mr. Marley would surely gag if he saw his likeness on t-shirts & beach towels... but this is a bit too much. The app does nothing to honor his music, his legacy, or his personal beliefs; it reduces Rastafarianism (and Bob himself) into a 1-dimensional mask to celebrate a 'holiday' that has NOTHING to do him. 4/20 & cannabis culture are not synonymous with all things Jamaican.

I can't wait to see what Snapchat does for Cinco De Mayo.

  2. Look I totally agree that there are silly ass cases where "social justice warriors" take it too far. But I have seen enough videos and read enough articles from the OTHER side that is combating these people to know that their underlining agenda scares me WAY more. Pretty much if you watch their videos or read their articles the comments left by people are nothing but racist, homophobic and transphobic.

  3. hm yeah okay i see that.. maybe that was a problem. but for most of the cases it seems to be harmless and people looking for something bad.

I agree, but then again, I can't argue what other people find harmless.

Martin Luther King would be proud to know he was assassinated for this.

MLK would, considering in his day speaking out against ANY form of discrimination would often lead to public death.

  4. if you are gonna look for something to get offended about, you're gonna find it.

Very true... BUT the other 2 are clearly doing some kind of Yoga stretch. Why is she not posed similarly?

I see subtle advertisements like that all the time, like in the toy aisle a while back. Each doll baby was dressed in a different animal costume; the blonde was a bunny, the brunette a deer, the red head was a fox... and the Black one was a skunk. My Aunt & I weren't OUTRAGED, but we definitely caught the shade! "Isaac, you see this shit, right?" :rotfl:

  5. Is it just me or is this sjw crap recent?

    It's a side-effect of the internet.

THANKFULLY, there's more awareness about race & cultural differences, it's just that some people don't know how to distinguish actual discrimination from petty superficial issues. I've had to educate more than a few White folk on what they should be more mindful of, but I do so with good intentions. Putting hands on people is NEVER the way to go about it.

  6. Of course. Everyone is allowed to dress or wear whatever they want.

We have so much bullshit going on here in France with head scarves...Today the minister of family said that girls wearing head scarves were like american negros being for slavery. Yep she used the word negro (nègre in french) ...a word no one EVER use especially about black americans....so not only the comparison is outrageous but her choice of word is completly ignorant. All that just for a head scarf.....We came to the point were we just can't accept anyone that is not ourself anymore. It's very sad. Let people be and wear whatever they want.

WOW. Even READING the word negro sent a jolt through my body. :rotfl:

I think the youth of today (I'm only 24 but I will not be associated w/ these dumb ass, hyper sensitive children) have way too much time on their hands. The young lady in the video probably had some legitimate opinions, but a random hallway was not the venue, nor was that the correct approach.

Yep she wanted to get hit. I would've gladly done it too :lmao:

    You are so Bmore. :boxing::rotfl:

CLEARLY, miss thing with the curly bush was wrong as hell for invading that boy's personal space, especially after he tried to walk away from her several times. She (and her girlfriend in the peacoat) went about the situation entirely wrong. Cultural appropriation is real, but what we're not going to do is police what people can & cannot wear on their own heads. Maybe that white boy knows the cultural significance of dreadlocks... maybe he just thinks they look cool. EITHER WAY, it's his scalp. Don't expect him to respect dreadlocks if you can't respect his physical boundaries. My people have bigger issues than some college student's matted follicles.

With that said, there IS a double standard when it comes to hairstyles, especially in the workplace, but that's a topic for another time.
