  1. The problem is the minute a new date was offered at MSG only lousy seats were being offered for $354 a ticket. Thats why people are mostly upset.

I understand that upsets people. But it's not clear to me that it's Madonna's fault that Ticketmaster doesn't have great seats. That's down to a lot of things. Somehow the venue or radio stations or record labels get the best tickets and they aren't put on Ticketmaster.

  2. Thats BS, Van Halen is on a major reunion tour and their highest price is $165, Van Halen are Icons,,People have been waiting 15 years for this tour. go on ticketmaster now for the MSG show, you can find good seats. The bad seats in section 200 is $85

Van Halen is a rock band that plays instruments so they don't have the high production costs of dancers, video screens, choreographers that Madonna does.

But it all comes down to how much you love an artist. It would not be worth it to me to spend $165 on Van Halen because I can't stand their music. You'd have to pay me to see them.

Everyone has different tastes and so you have to make your own decision whether the price you have to pay it is worth it to you to see a certain artist.

  3. Yes, but it's the same for every artist. Ticket prices are going up all the time because record sales are down. Every time you go to Ticketmaster you can never get good seats for any popular artist. I don't hold that against Madonna or any artist. It's just how the system is today.

  4. I really didn't see any difference in this sale than the Confessions sale. If anything, I think my seat is a little bit better than the seat I had at the first Confessions show which was at the very back of the floor.

It's always hard to get good seats at MSG because it's in NYC and MSG gives tons of seats to people like season tickeholders for basketball and hockey. Everyone wants to see a show in NYC so there are so many more people trying to get seats.

  5. I'm in Section 108, Row F for Tues.

It's not the best, but I guess it's okay. I'm just happy to be there.

I don't think I will have the time or money to do more than one show on this tour. So I'm happy with what I got.

  6. As long as I can remember, it is very difficult to get close seats from Ticketmaster or through fan club pre-sales, for any artist.

I used to do pre-sales for Tori Amos and you could never get close seats from a pre-sale even if you tried right when the seats went on sale.

So this is nothing new. I don't blame Madonna personally or her deal with LIve Nation just like that I don't hold that against Tori Amos.

Somehow people have inside connections with the venue or radio stations and they get the best seats and put those up for auction. Nothing to do with the artist.

  7. There's an article about this in the new Entertainment Weekly. It clearly states that Madonna is not giving them tickets. In fact, StubHub themselves doesn't actually have any tickets. It is a site that enables people to buy tickets from each other. It says Madonna isn't scalping. She is saying you can go here if the tickets are sold out.

Ticket agencies have always had excellent seats for Madonna concerts even before she endoresed Stub Hub. So they definitely are able to get them and it's not from Madonna or people working for her.

They say that Madonna is endorsing them and is giving them credibility since scalpers have a bad reputation. But she is definitely not giving them tickets since they don't have any. It's a trading site like ebay.

But as usual people don't want to know the facts, they just want to confirm their opinion Madonna is a greedy bitch.

  8. I don't know all the facts about this scalping controversy. The only way I would have a problem with it is if Madonna herself is holding tickets back from Ticketmaster and icon and giving them directly to Stub Hub. That would be the only way she is scalping her own fans.

However, I don't think that's the case. They are getting them from ticketmaster as scalpers always have. From what I can see, she is just preventing the scalpers from ripping her off by getting a amount of what they collect. Like it or not, we live in a capitalist society. If someone wants to sell something for more than they paid for it and someone wants to buy it, why shouldn't that be allowed? If that's wrong, then ebay would have to shut down now.

If you don't think paying more than face value is worth it, then don't go to ticket brokers or scalpers.

I guess people are saying Madonna should stop scalpers. But it's not clear to me by not being involved with Stub Hub that would happen. Scalpers would still exist. There will always be people who are wiling to pay more than face value for a ticket. It's not clear to me these people will be her most dedicated fans. Most hard core fans know exactly when the tickets go on sale at ticketmaster. I'm sure if you go to ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Monday you will be able to get a ticket. A lot of the people who will buy from Stub Hub will be more casual fans or curious people who had no idea when the tickets went on sale, but now decide they'd like to see Madonna.

I think they are ample opportunities for fans to get tickets either through icon or ticketmaster, so I think this whole thing is a tempest in a teapot.

Some people act like Madonna's charity should be her fans, not people with AIDS in Malawi. She wants to make money from her concerts and her hard work. I don't see why that makes her greedy. I really don't see the problem as long as she isn't herself giving the best tickets to Stub Hub.

  9. Honestly(and I'll probably get bashed for this)I think if she is wound tight it is because her sex life isn't what it used to be now that she is married and has kids. Not just her sex life though. I just don't think she gets to have as much fun as she used to.

Madonna still seems like she has a good time and she enjoys her life. She just doesn't have fun in the conventional sense a lot of people mean, partying in clubs, drinking and using drugs. But she didn't do that when she was single, either. So if you are looking for a crazy party person, Madonna is not the artist for you.

I think she has a good balance, sometimes she is funny in interviews, but she also has more serious things she's concerned about.

There are serious problems in the world like AIDS. What's wrong with acknowledging that from time to time? Life isn't always fun and one big party.
