Wow! That was so sweet! Redemption Song is one of my favorite songs!
-
What year did she do this?
Not 100% sure, but I thought I read it's from 2013.
-
Don't worry it's not a Kaballah lecture. It's funny!
-
It's a good list. I'm glad they didn't forget Tori Amos!

Crazy! First, it's totally unconstitutional and secondly, how would you know if someone is a Muslim or not other than asking them? Obviously if all Muslims are banned, if you ask someone and they want to come to the US they would say they aren't a Muslim! Because a lot of countries there are Muslims and Christians who basically look the same physically. Plus, there are people who are brought up Muslim by their parents but don't believe in it anymore. Would they be allowed in?

She seems pissed in a funny way, and not that seriously and she did whos that girl
Yes, now that I saw the video. I don't think she was being bitchy. She was just being funny! I'm glad Amsterdam got Who's That Girl the second night. I like it better than Secret!

She cut the medley thats when she talked about why she had to.
Now im done with this fucking thread crushing me, my only show. Sat alone crying when i should be happy.
Don't feel bad. She cut the medley at other shows too. At least she did Who's That Girl! I love the acoustic version. It is so much better than Secret which is a bit boring.
My heart goes out to you. Having a back injury is the worst. My mother suffers from back pain and so does a friend of mine who is a drummer. He loves playing the drums and the back injury really does affect his life, happiness and doing what he loves. I'm sorry if you felt anyone was making fun of you. I don't think that was anyone's intention.
Madonna is like the rest of us. She has good days and bad days. That makes her human.

Video of Secret!
-
It was just a photoshoot/interview with Guy. Madonna wasn't there. It's probably for his next book.
They could still edit it with footage of Madonna from the tour to make the video. Everyone doesn't have to be in the same room at the same time to make a video as we saw with the Bitch, I'm Madonna video.

Larkspur, I like you, but you need to let this go. I like Chelle, but there are people on this forum I don't like and have had big arguments with so I can sort of understand you having issues with someone. But if any of these people I have had fights with were talked to or recognized by Madonna I would be happy for them. Because we may all have our issues with each other, but one thing we share in common is we love Madonna and know she is an amazing woman. That is at the end of the day why we are all here.
Madonna is being honest and sincere, because she appreciates all of her fans. She doesn't know about personal issues that any one fan may have with some other fan. If a fan is there, and Madonna recognizes and acknowledges them it is because she can see their love for her and appreciation for her as an artist and their enjoyment of the concert. It is not necessarily an endorsement of everything that one fan may have done in their personal life or interaction with other people which she has no clue about.
Again, I am so happy for Chelle since it's every Madonna fan's dream come true. We are all living vicariously through her. So cool!

Congrats Chelle! I am so happy for you. How cool!
I can't believe she did Substitute for Love. It's one of my favorite songs and what a great surprise and a wonderful tribute to David.

I've noticed this too. I always think, "Are they ever impressed?"
Well, they don't give that many albums one star either. So I guess they don't really hate anything, but they don't really love anything either. The vast majority of their reviews seem to be either 3 or 3.5. But that does kind of make their reviews sort of meaningless to me.
-
They gave her a 3.5/5 rating for the album so I'm not completely surprised at the ranking. Tbh, Rebel Heart should be in the top 10 for every single end of year list
I'm not sure how they come up with the actual rankings in the year end list, because they give 3.5 stars or lower to the majority of the albums they review. They only very rarely give 4 or above stars.

Beautiful picture of Mmmmm and Chelle! So great to see you guys!

I'm 24 and would be pretty pissed at queuing up all day in the freezing cold and having to leave the concert early to make sure I get on the last train. It's okay in venues where you can arrive at the show and your seat is there waiting and your city has car parking so you can jump in your car and drive home but GA in Europe is a nightmare. A lot of the people complaining were probably cold, tired and hungry. In hindsight I bet they look back and realise they had a great time.
I agree. I think the GA is more the problem than her being a little late. I don't get why they have GA in Europe? Even if she comes on at the regular time you still have to arrive so early and stand all that time. And it's hard to go and get a drink or go to the bathroom without losing your spot. To me, GA should never be in large venues or arenas, it should only be in small clubs with indie or rock acts. That is the way it always is in the US.

How late would be too bad?
11 p.m. isn't that bad. I think before midnight isn't that bad. That would mean the show ends around 1 a.m. How many people really go to bed at 11 p.m. every night before work anyway? A lot of people stay up late occasionally watching tv, surfing the net whatever if they're honest. It's just one night.
-
yes, the email said M will be on stage at 22,15. But she came on stage at 23. So its late. Thats the point we are talking about. Thats the fuss. Its a bit too late, because its monday tomorrow and people will go work.
But that's only 45 minutes late, that's not too bad considering they had to move the stage in one day.
-
I don't know what the big fuss is. They already said she was going to be late.

Super cute picture! I like it when she wears hats!

I was just going to post this but glad you noticed! Celebrity Skin is my favorite Hole album.
I'm happy that ROL is as high as it is. This list is fairly decent although female acts are short changed given how much they dominated the 90s. Still a good list compared to many.
I love Celebrity Skin, but I think Live Through This is a better album.
Fiona Apple and Tori Amos need to be on there! There actually inspired a lot of female singer/songwriters using the piano as their primary instrument.
Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink need to be on there for Tori!
And Tidal and When the Pawn.... for Fiona.
I"ve been listening to the new Vanessa Carlton album which owes a lot to both Tori and Fiona. I definitely recommend that.

I am actually shocked that they included Ray Of Light on their list in the first place! Those albums were all really popular in the 90's but they were all made by the so called alternative artists! Madonna is possibly the only pop star in that bunch. No Spice Girls or Britney Spears or even Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey! Madonna truly conquered the more serious and sophisticated music world with Ray Of Light!
Yes, but in the 90's a lot of what we consider "alternative artists" now were played on the radio. Alternative rock was part of pop music in the 90's which is one of the things I loved about the 90's. Alternative artists were pop stars in the 90's. Even Ray of Light has some alternative leaning moments, it's not pop in the same way the Spice Girls or Britney Spears were.
Oh, I just noticed Celebrity Skin by Hole is on there! I missed it at first. Glad it made it in.
-
Gosh the 90's are my favorite decade. So much good music!!!
Me, too. But besides Erotica, they should have included Garbage and Version 2.0 by Garbage, and Live Through This and Celebrity Skin by Hole.

Yes, I would think Spain would be cold this time of year. Isn't it around the same latitude as NYC? It's not that far south.

On Instagram she says she is singing some songs at Freedom Square? I'm not familiar with Paris. Where is that?
