I got one of these scam e-mails this weekend:

    https://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2020/04/10/sextortion-emails-and-porn-scams-are-back-dont-let-them-scare-you/

They'll claim to have malware infected on your computer and will send out videos of you watching porn among other graphic things to all your contacts.  It's an obvious scam but what was a little scary is they did use an old password of mine I used to use.  At some point some site most have been compromised I used it on.

But yeah if anybody here gets an sextortion e-mail asking to pay $2000 to some britcoin account please ignore it.  There is a special place in hell for someone who would try to take advantage of somebody's non rational thinking in these times we live in.  This is what the scammers are hoping for

OMG I got an email saying they knew my password ( to a now defunct email account but it was accurate ) and unless I transfer 2000 bitcoins to him he would release my

masturbation video which sadly I don't have any .

In Thailand we are going to ease the lockdown. We are down to single digit infected cases .The curfew and state of emergency will remain till end of May but they will allow certain businesses to reopen ( Malls , non air con restaurants etc ) with strict measures . We will see how that works.

  2. WHO please use some of  the money for that shiftiest/fake caring concert on these countries .

    https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-52382234/coronavirus-how-will-the-developing-world-cope

Coronavirus: How will the developing world cope?

Hundreds of thousands of people already die every year from preventable diseases in the developing world, where resources are scarce.

But how will they cope with a health challenge on a truly global scale?

The BBC's Secunder Kermani and Anne Soy compare how prepared some countries in Asia and Africa are.

Ever heard of "Human RIghts" gurl?

They have the rights to die. :rosey:

If they wanna die, please don't stop them.

Lesser the Dumpster supporters the better.

But do they know that they will be taking the hard- to- find  bed spaces from the people who actually want to live

as well as valuable time of doctors /nurses who have to care for them before they finally kick the buckets ?

In Europe you don't get to see ANY such absurd thing, anywhere on the continent. And there is such a diversity of nations here, each one with a different language, culture and sensibility.

But on the important issues sane people all come together. People are obviously fed up to be confined at home, and we've had it for longer than say the UK or the US, so all the more reasons, but nobody dared to stage or even contemplated to stage an anti quarantine protest!

Further proof that for a country who supposedly leads the world it is actually still plagued by massively ignorant and uncivilised areas and corresponding part of the population.

It's scary. Add to that the constant war mongering, the toxic and moronic gun culture etc and it makes it one of the unsafest places to be. Certainly UNFIT to lead anything or anyone

Do they even know what they're protesting about ? It's not about second amendments or their rights be taken away .

It's a deadly virus . It's science . Has nothing to do with the constitution .

I mentioned earlier ( back in March ) that my yoga teacher came into contact with an infected person ( a Thai actress who was infected by her actor

husband ) . She went into quarantine for two weeks and she's negative.

The actress and actor were just released from hospital yesterday . It took them over 30 days for the Cover-19  test results to read negative

and they are young & super healthy couple .

So to me it's almost like these people are protesting for a chance to be infected and died because they think it's their constitutional right .

    Madness.

I feel bad for the other USA citizens who understand the situation. I would be mortified if this happened in my country. There's stupid people everywhere.

But seeing Trump, Bolsonaro or Salvini saying the stupid things they're saying. Watching the Spanish far right behaving like complete retards. Seeing Boris Johnson's mistake turning into a big death toll, really shows that is ALWAYS the same people. The same stupid liberal selfish population the ones that make this world a worse place.

I think it's because it's such a vast country . We are seeing a few people breaking curfews here In my country but nothing in the

scale of organised protests like in USA.  Do they know they will probably be dead in a few months  ( maybe weeks ) and worse they will probably take

those hard working front liners as well as family members and loved ones down with them .

I hope you and your loved ones are ok.

That's so sad. I hope the government pays part of the salary. In this crisis we can see that those countries where liberalism is the mantra the population are suffering. This virus should be the death toll of liberalism.

The Thai government is doing selective payment of just over 151 USD per household per month . They have just paid the people their first month and the PM came out and said there was enough money only for the one month instead of the promised six months stated in his previous statement .

On the other hand we have recovered from the virus quicker than expected and will be easing our lockdown in probably 6-7 days .

Thailand is a democratic country but if we are being honest it's always been under military's firm grip.

I hope you are OK . Spain seems to be doing better and so has Italy and rest of Europe ( except UK ) .

I've a few friends in the US and they are saying it's not a pleasant place to be at the moment . A good friend of mine who works for the Thai embassy in New York hasn't left his house in 48 days .

  7. I can not believe what is happening in USA especially in NYC . The images from that mass grave will be haunting me for a long time.

In Thailand our confirmed cases are going down . We are in the tens ( +30, +28, +33 etc ) as opposed to a few weeks ago where it was in the hundreds .

A LOT of people are facing unemployment and uncertain future. Most hotels / departments stores / shops and restaurants have been closed for a while .

I have a few friends who work for our national carrier Thai Airways and they are doing everything they can to make ends meet as they company can only afford to pay their

salaries ( which have been lowered by 10-50 % )  to the end of April . I've seen captain with 20 years experience selling off his prized vinyl record collection to flight attendants

cooking / selling food that can be delivered to your home .

One of my best friends used to work for a Christian based charity, with a particular focus on global warming.  He always found the churches the hardest to talk to about global warming because their reply was generally “well, if that’s God’s plan...”

I don't know what to say...God's plan kind of suck doesn't it ? I mean you do all this works , you go to church , you sing the hymns and you pray etc and here it is global warming and cover-19 . Thank you worshippers !

A lot of people I know are out of ,or trying to hold on to , their jobs because of this . I've never seen air travel almost ground to a halt before .

Never seen so many deaths around the world from one disease before . Never thought I would live to see the day when westerners are wearing face masks to go out in public . What a time.

Boris Johnson has been moved to the intensive care unit.

I read that this morning in The Guardian  . It says al though he has no known underlying health condition , he has struggled with obesity and is considered overweight .

I hope he pulls through .

  10. Wear Mask

    Wash hands regularly

    Use hand sanitiser

Avoid touching face / nose / eyes / lips

Do not shake hands or kiss ( as greeting or saying goodbye )

DO NOT share any personal things ( have your own set of utensils like fork/spoon/knife / cup/ glass etc I know it sounds silly but those things will have one's saliva on them . It will be strange in the beginning but you will get use to it . )

We as one world have to come together and help combat this virus . It sounds noble , pretentious and ridiculous but this is what everybody on here and around the world  is doing at the moment I think .

  11. No . They are flip flopping because in Asia ,and I imagine the rest of the world now , people are hoarding face masks . A box of 50 N95 face masks that costs less than 5 UK pounds is now on the market for almost 25 pounds if not more . Front liners do not have proper gears due to the greed of these people and the inefficiency of the some governments .

Also the virus is spread through droplets so face masks give you a certain level of protection . If you want to feel super safe you should combine it with a face shield but that's if you are in a heavily contagious areas such as hospitals / next to a sick person .

  12. I can not believe Trump has come out and say he wouldn't be wearing a face mask .

Wearing face mask has saved many lives in Asia I can tell you that .

The WHO is flip flopping on the issue is stupid but predictable . I think they're afraid people will stock up on masks ( as is the case around Asia and the whole world now probably  ) and there won't be any supply left for the front-liners ( doctors , nurses , people who work in hospitals etc ) .

That's happening right now in Thailand . Doctors/ nurses Thailand  have to make  their own masks from fabric which is not N95 and will give 50-60% protection instead of the hard to find N95 version. We are also running out of PPE as well.

Curfew has been imposed on the country . Deadline is 30th April but I think it will last probably until June / July .

  13. ( Am replying to Promise to Try earlier post ) They also saw it happening in Japan, S. Korea , Hong Kong , Taiwan and  Singapore and even Australia which are

developed ( first world )  countries too and they did almost nothing at all in preparation .  How could they think it wouldn't reach them in these day and age ?

We've seen a lot of kindness here in Thailand with people giving out free masks , food etc but we've seen a lot of ugliness too such as people charging

over the top prices for necessities such as hand sanitizer .

I still ( STILL ) can not believe that cruise ships are still allowed to operate when most airlines have reduced or grounded their fleets .
