It's fun, flirty, sexy, hip, and catchy as all hell. I even think Lil Wayne's part is perfect.
In other words, it's everything that Celebration is not.
Revolver is just pure fab.

...and Kanye's bringing the whole proceedings to a screeching halt was the moment of the night, obviously. Yes, he was a complete asshole for doing that to poor Taylor Swift. He was also 100% right. None of the other nominees were anywhere near the caliber of "Single ladies," but with MTV's new policy of making sure all their target audiences are pleased, we'll never have a sweep by a single video again, methinks. Their politics and rigging are simply too transparent. But still - Kanye's interruption was totally uncalled for, and completely hilarious. At least it made for good TV, something MTV has been incapable of for over a decade.
He may be right, but I thought it was rather easy of him to invade on Taylor Swift's personal space and make his assessment, since she's a 17-yr-old teen. Had he dared to do that while Pink or another, more aggressive performer were on stage, his ass would've been handed to him right on a a platter. He really is an outright asshole for that.
And if he hates the voting policies of these awards shows so much, then why bother showing up? If he really wants to take a stand then he should relinquish his nominations and not show up at all. He can't have it both ways.

thats bizarre. joan never had long blond hair.
I'm thinking more about the few scenes in the film where Faye is sporting this rather bouffant hairdo like Joan. Madonna seems to channel that for me, with a little bit of Ann Margaret.

she reminds me very much of dietrich at the show.
^
I was thinking more Faye Dunaway doing Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest.
She still looked foxy though.

Saw the clips of the VMAs. I'm convinced either Kayne is battling issues with being bipolar, or that he's just be a general ass. Either way, he's kinda worthless as a musician.
Madge - awesome speech. She also looked her age, which isn't bad at all; in fact she looked radiant. Hope she continues to feel comfortable about aging now.
Janet - looks good again, shame her segment was so short. And bigger shame that we had to see cutaways of Jermaine and the devil incarnate that is Joe Jackson.
Pink - I don't get why she had to do the theatrics, tbh. She has the voice that she doesn't need to do the Cirque du Loleil type performances.
Gaga - eh, period blood. Whatever.
I suppose this will be one of the more memorable VMAs based on the star power alone.

Pfft, screw Oprah!
I think she should do Maury Povich.

Oh Christ! It's called an opinion. If you don't want to hear it then you know where ignore is.

I think it's just sad how Madonna just doesn't seem to give a shit anymore. I don't for a second buy that she's saving all the good stuff for the next album. I think she's just spent these days.
And I hope I'm not the only one who thinks it's just bizarre and somewhat inappropriate that Madge is trolloping around with her rebound-guy in a video that features her kids. I can't imagine Lourdes is the least bit thrilled to be watching Mommy undressing her rebound guy in front her, esp. after years of being raised by a real father like Guy Richie.
They must have quite the interesting family dinners these days.

First pic from Madonna's new Celebration video. Thoughts...?
Joan Rivers has never looked sexier!

That tracklist does look pretty good for a 2-disc. 3-disks would do her real justice though because she has too many hits.
If that tracklist is indeed true, I give her credit for leaving off "American Life", but leaving in "Hollywood". I mean who wants to be reminded of a middle-aged white woman attempting irony by rapping about her lifestyle and failing miserably? That song did her such damage for awhile. "Hollywood" was a massive flop, but at least it's listenable enough to fit alongside her hits.
I'm looking forward to hearing Madonna's "Revolver", because at least the demo we heard around back sounds far meatier than "Celebration", which is just....okay, I suppose.

OMG, that looks like an Olivia Newton John album artwork (the fanmade one that is). And I mean an OLD Olivia Newton John album art.

I just honestly don't see the correlation she's making, that's all. Still - Madonna on a disco cross. Looks good.
That's cuz music is her real savior! The disco cross is just fab!

But in "SNM" she only sang the verses live, the rest was the album version playing and she just shouted over it. It's going to be more noticeable if they cleaned up the vocals in "Human Nature", "Borderline", ROL" and "HU" (any reason why she sounds the worst when she's just standing there? )...
It's that fucking guitar. Whenever she straps it on and starts to do rock versions of her songs, her voice takes on this brittle, harsh sound where she screams the lyrics rather than sings them. I guess it's her version of "rocking out", but I just cringe when she does that. She used to be better at handling the guitar playing while her vocals came across as softer.

She's been more musical that visual for me as of late. Which isn't a bad thing, because she's still capable of crafting great pop records.

Kids, can you say emotional blackmail?

LOVE HER!!!
when i first saw the hung up video, the first person that popped into my head was sally o'mally!!!
I did too when I first saw it, lol. But once she walked down London in her leather jacket with her good arm in the pocket, she still looked like the baddest bitch.

I hope these are fab, but i do kinda wish that she hasnt got one leg kicking up in the air in all the photos...we get it, you can get your leg above your head...get over it
I know, it's getting a bit too Sally O'Malley for me.

Nah, nothing is worse than the Drowned World Tour Book. Her first tour in 8 years and all we get are rehashed images from previous photo shoots because she couldn't be bothered. Didn't help that she was really cunty on that tour (still loved it though).
At least she made a real effort for the Reinvention and S&S Tour Books, they both look great.
Madonna on "Saturday Night Live"?

Whatever she's been doing the last few months, I hope Madonna keeps it up.
I don't find Gaga to be the least bit attractive, but she also looked pretty good in the sketch. But Madonna just oozed sex appeal, I was at a party where we all stopped to watch this bit and everyone was so shocked to see Madonna being...well Madonna again. She did me proud. The sketch kinda fell flat though, considering the potential.
