I cannot get over how phenomenal this show is. Happy to see most of the reviews are conveying that.

I can't even deal with all this anymore. My stomach hurts and I need sleep.
I hear you, sister.

All delusions of Chris being of the intelligent persuasion shattered years ago when this piece of shit was published:
-
She misspells a lot of things on Instagram.
It's clearly "pain", though.
-
I wonder, why is there no VHS recording from any fan in the planet of Vogue at the VMA's?
I've got it. A lot of fans probably do.
It's just that a little over 2 months later The Immaculate Collection home video in the US (and the "Justify My Love" video single abroad) included the performance rendering those TV recordings largely unnecessary.

The amazing Glenn Close wearing THEE dress in 1988's Dangerous Liaisons:
-
Viva Madonna!
-
Amazing.
Love and agree with what you said, Papi!
-
As for Hillary mantel. I like her. She is a really good fiction writer.
Demonstrated by her above critique of Madonna.
-
Beyonce is the only one that can be compared to Madonna. Charismatic performer, deeply involved in the creative process, a true worldwide household name.

I recall a radio interview she did with Jo Wiley where Jo went through a list of songs that didn't make it on to GHV2 and she Jo mentioned TUTBMP and Madonna just groaned at it....

I was crushed the first time I heard her groan.

Bless you for enabling my laziness! You had the answer before I could even get my CD out...
-
Now I just need to compare the running time on the version that appeared on Something to Remember to figure out whether it was different from any/all of those or not.
Something To Remember has the Single Version on it.
-
58 about to turn 59 (he was born in June of '31, Madonna was there a week before his actual birthday).
-
The shortest edit version (found on Barcelona Gold) was also included on a various artists Warner Music promo CD in Japan, credited as "This Used To Be My Playground (Short Version)".
The Instrumental and movie versions are an earlier mix of the song while the Short, Single and Long versions are different edits of a remix by Shep Pettibone that has never been released in full.
Though shorter than the Long Version, the Single Version is the only one to include the "I wish you were standing here with me" chorus at the end.
-
All I took away from this is that Madonna is nearly the age her father was during that "Happy Birthday, dear daaaaaaaad" moment in Auburn Hills.
-
I say Jody Watley.
No lie, I had a stack of Jody singles out at work today and committed to a marathon! I called my husband during Most Of All and he's like "are you listening to Open Your Heart"?
(Both were written by Gardner Cole and produced by Patrick Leonard, though I don't think they sound very much alike. Must have been the connection.)
Jody was fabulous, but SO up her own ass. Read the liner notes to her mid-nineties best of, but keep your gag reflex in check.
