She was vocally flawless
Ghosttown was simply superb. Such an intelligent and beautiful woman shining through the entire episode after her 15-year absence from Italian live television. Goddess I agree, totally! At times I almost felt bad for him but it was all part of the vibe of her presence there. And it made for some lovely scene/banter with the audience.
Throughout the entire week the press has been writing what a star above all other stars Madonna is and how she silenced and pulverised the host I can only imagine what they will write from tomorrow now that the full episode was accessible to everyone
I think he was in awe of her the whole time, though he did make some faux pas with some of the questions. And he talks too much. Just ask a question and let the other person answer. He does that all the time. Anyway, I am so proud and emotional about the whole thing. It was the #1 trending topic in Italy and the #5 worldwide. There's only one person who can do that after 32 years. Madonna !!!!!

"It's gonna take a little bit more than that to make me smile."
I loved that! That and the side-eye she kept giving her glass of wine.

She looked JUST like the Evita era during this interview. It's insane!
-
her performances of the ballads remind me a bit of ROL. but her voice is even better! very RIT and DWT
YES!

She was in great mood. During breaks she talked with fans. She did both song twice bifore the interview. Everything was pre-recorded last sunday afternoon.
There goes my wine theory unless it was flowing backstage beforehand.

For a minute there during GT I thought her coat train might be stuck on speaker boxes but thank goodness. She is swimming in that coat though, damn, but it's better than matador outfit imo.
I saw that too! I was all like "oh, hell no, bitch is going down again..."
-
She did not seem in the least bitchy to me. WTF are people talking about? She was poised and fun and having a conversation with a man through earpiece translation... SHE WAS MARVELOUS!
-
Well fuck, I thought both performances were wonderful, esp Ghosttown. I didn't see wooden, it was Madonna performance. MORE!!
BOTH were fantastic!!!!!!!
"Ghosttown" has some of her best live TV vocals ever which I'm attributing to the few sips of red wine before she hit the stage to sing it.

She's just too wonderful to be real...

THE LOOK ON HER FACE WHEN HE GAVE HER THE
WEEDSFLOWERS. -
It was all so good!!!
Petition to get a bit of red wine in Madonna's belly before every performance... "Ghosttown" was vocally her most spot on performance this era thanks to the edge being taken off during the interview.

the host looks like Gary Oldham.
SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID!!!

Almost time for Madonna!!!

Great interview but I'm deeply offended by the parallels drawn between her and an idiot like Kanye West.
No matter what even she herself says, Madonna was always sharp, witty, intelligent and armed with a huge heart. Kanye is a reactive media whore who makes music of questionable value and importance. Madonna was about having fun, unity, lifting people up and educating them. Kanye is about selling himself (and only those he deems worthy) alone and it's hard to find a message there beyond him nurturing his god complex.

I'd love to see a 1920/30's inspired silent film treatment. She'd be phenomenal taking on the guise of someone like Eve Southern...

Is the Taiwanese version the only version with lyrics sheet???
Japan should have one, too, but last time (MDNA) the Taiwan edition had all of the correct lyrics and Japan was full of mistakes.

One of the best from these sessions and all kinds of unique compared to the rest of her catalog. I hope she performs it on the tour.
-
But it does!
That's the deluxe booklet... Sadly there isn't a booklet in the super deluxe.
-
Giovanni Bianco could have at least used a different red paint streak for each panel of song titles. It's lazy and cheap looking... especially with the panels placed next to each other on the super deluxe edition.
And here's the deluxe booklet, where the offending panel is used NINE times:
The photography and title lettering (I'm assuming neither of which involved Bianco) are perfection, though!

Huge thanks to svperstar and dub!

The Immaculate Collection on spotify has the original album version of "Borderline" that's missing from their upload of Madonna and "Lucky Star" is the 12" New Mix...
On Like A Virgin, "Dress You Up" is the 12" Formal Mix from the maxi single
Hot mess.

Has anyone noticed that a couple of songs on Spotify from Madonna's 80s albums are not the original album versions?? I am referring specifically to Borderline and Papa Don't Preach, both of which are extended approximately one whole minute beyond their original album lengths. Does anyone know what these two versions are from??
"Papa Don't Preach" is Stephen Bray's 12" Version and "Borderline" is Jellybean's New Mix both from the original, respective maxi singles... not sure why the official digital releases always substitute extended remixes for album versions.

: the RS spread picture is also omitted. WTF? I need all those amazing pictures in physical format.
Rolling Stone magazine is a physical format.

Thanks. At some point I would love to see her appropriate this look even if it's not for "Ghosttown", but I do think it would be interesting to present an apocalyptic scenario from a 1920's (nearly a century ago) silent film perspective.
