Wal-Mart only had 3 Immaculate Collection CDs. Nothing else. Not even DVDs.
I guess I'll spend my money at BestBuy.
Did you ask?
Wal-Mart employees are idiots.
Ask for a manager. Ask them why the new releases are not on the floor.
-
I could not find the DVD collection. I'll look again at lunch.

Forgot this at J&R:
LAP
YCD
IB
Music
BS
R&R
All $4.99.
-
I just went to J&R Music World in downtown NYC. It's the last traditional record store in NYC.
1cd $9.99
2cd $16.99 (Ouch!)
22 1cds
10 2cds
I'm sure they have more to stock.
No displays.
They had Babs new album for $6.99.

from holidayguy:
Some recent-times compilations:
Celine Dion's sold 56,165 (58,110 including street-date violations) in early November 2008 (debuting at #8), and had scanned 325,651 through mid-June. 1cd and a 2cd release like Madonna's.
Christina Aguilera opened with 72,870 (#9) in mid-November 2008, and through mid-March, had scanned 260,525. It was a Target exclusive, and was a single CD (had a deluxe edition with a DVD).
Rascal Flatts' Gretaest Hits Vol. 1 opened with 88,655 in November 2008; it has scanned 717,965 though this month.
Toby Keith's 35 Biggest Hits opeend at #2 in May 2008, scanning 138,105 in its first week; it has scanned 682,310 through this month. A 2cd release.

Babs will not be #1. C'mon people. Think!
-
I think it will sell about 72K on its first week in the US but I think it will have legs and stay in the Billboard 200 charts for 20 weeks or so.
I'm expecting something like this
week 1: 72K
week 2: 30K
week 3: 22K
week 4: 19K
week 5: 16K
week 6: 17K
week 7: 30K
week 8: 40K
week 9: 30K
week 10: 25K
week 11: 50K
week 12: 50K
week 13: 18K and then go down from there
I would love for the first week sales to be above 100K but I'm doubting it this time around
That's 419k.

Mariah goes retro .....
I love it!
-
Babs is not going to sell 90k.
It will be interesting to see if Celebration will be in the Target and Best Buy circulars in the Sunday papers. I'm sure it will be.

Madonna is looking to equal Elvis Presley’s total of 11 UK album number ones this weekend with her new retrospective Celebration opening up a narrow lead at retail.
The double set is presently a few thousand sales ahead of its nearest rival, fellow Warner Bros release The Resistance by Muse, which debuted at one last Sunday.
If Celebration remains in front it will place Madonna in joint second place with Presley behind The Beatles with the most UK chart-topping albums. Her tally of 10 album number ones dates back to 1984’s Like A Virgin and also takes in the Evita soundtrack, which features both her and other artists.
