  1. :dramatic: at Pink. I do believe that's the biggest jump in UK chart history, 38-1.

    SURPRISED at Will Young at 2 in albums. Thought this would FLOP as hard as his ghey lisp, but I was wrong. SHAME at his last album AND first single stalling at #2 behind COAD and Hung Up respectively.

  2. :rotfl:

    He performed it on GMTV this morning and let it be known he's a BOTTOM BOY - when the presenters said "make way for Liam Neeson" he thought they'd cut to the break and said "I'm laying on the floor already" and then put his hands against his mouth and gasped when he realised he was still live. :lmao:

    :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

  3. What's the capacity for Brazil? Stadium shows usually are one-offs for most, no? I know Madge isn't most or just anyone, but still...

    75,000-80,000 per show, which is fucking incredible, seeing as she struggled to play just ONE stadium show in London, her so-called "biggest market".

    But then again, is it so hard to believe. She hasn't been to SA since Girlie, and the population of Sao Paulo is over 22,000,000.

  4. The thing that is unfornatute is that unlike Madison Square Gardens, which is located pretty central in NYC, near Times Square and other tourist hotspots, Wembley is far from Central London and is GHETTO.

    Walking around there alone at night to escape the crowds for a better chance of getting a cab or bus is no joke.

    But then what can you do? It's no-one's fault. Perhaps poor organisation on Live Nation's part but don't they charge 10,000 pounds for EVERY minute past the "10.30 curfew". So, for whatever reason Madonna was late, it's cost them DEARLY.

    Been chatting to a friend whos partner works at the Millenium stadium, REM have had to switch venues cause they were not selling enough tickets. They now play the indoor arena, just shows tickets sales aint at their best.

    But heres the gossip.............. Madonna is scheduled to do a period of rehearsals at the millenium stadium but no 1 knows when she is gonna start and the last time she was rehearsing there all stadium staff including managers in their offices and all clerical and grounds staff had to leave the stadium. Apparently 'her people' were a nightmare! But they have been told she could arrive anytime between now and showtime.

    Here is the Box Office Score Data for CT 2006:

    Millennium Stadium Cardiff 55,795 / 55,795 (sellout) $7,788,845

    I could have sworn Cardiff CT wasn't a sellout but I stand corrected. She must have filled seats VERY close to the date of the show.

  6. I was looking for hotels near Wembley area and they are all full. any londoners got any tips for me ?

    I know it will be hell getting back home after the tour is over as there will 100 000 ppl.

    It will totally impossible to take underground as the last one leaves around 00:00 and that will be the time we will probably get out of the stadium. Are there any night busses to central london?

    Please help :)

    Are you from London?

    Wembley is GHETTO.

    I would get the fuck out of there after the show.

    You can get the tube from Wembley Park although they will probably close the station entrance because of the crowds. Best bet is to get a nightbus.

    www.tfl.gov.uk has a journey planner for all routes into Central London.

  7. Listen, honestly speaking, people are either going to take a liking to her songs or not. Word of mouth, combined with airplay, combined with "artist excitement" = success. Take Rihanna and UMBRELLA for example. Look what happened with that song. Not the BEST song in the world,. but, a good hook, a lot of excitement surrounding her and then followed by a semi-cool ok-video and then a boat-load of re-makes. Either the lightning strikes or it doesn't, no special magic formula really

    Objectively, Umbrella is one of the greatest songs in pop music history. The production, melody, lyrical content and the arc of the song are perfect, the "ella ella" frame is borderline genius. It was more than a song; a marker in pop-cultural history. The video could have been a crock of shite and it would have still sold eight million copies.

  8. Yes, the climate is THAT different. Second singles won't be reaching high chart positions now. And Madonna is lazy? Did she promote "ROL", "Hollywood" or "Sorry"? :rolleyes:

    Fine, there wasn't promotion for second singles per se but plenty of promo when the album was released.

    ROL= National Lottery performance/Johnny Vaughn interview

    Hollywood= Jonathan Ross/CD UK/TOTP?

    Sorry= Parkinson/Brit Awards/Dermot O'Leary Interview

    HC= Nothing from what I can remember. Let me know if I'm wrong

  9. Guys, the tour will start in 4-5 weeks, so HC sales can't be so catastrophic. Then there will be a third and a forth single to help sales. She can easily stay in the top40 until Xmas time and if that happens, HC won't catch Coadf, but could be more than 2xP.

    That's another problem with releasing a spring/summer album. There are virtually no shows to promote her shit on as all the shows have finished. What do people feel about her doing an X-factor performance when the season returns? Would people have an issue with that? Remember that show, along with Strictly Come Dancing, garners up to 11/12 million viewers. I know it's all very "Kylie" but The X Factor is a big-budget show and she doesn't necessarily have to talk to the contestants, simply perform in the results show. There's Saturday Night Takeaway which would be a good atmosphere because the audience are pissed from the free alcohol they're given before the show.

    At the moment, where is there to promote? It's either Loose Women or T4, both of which would lower

    her status completely.
