  1. Don't forget "Into The Groove" on YCD/TIC, fans often say that "Shep took out the R&B of the track".

unforgivable imo re what he did to 'Into The Groove' - and actually whilst mentioning 'The Immaculate Collection'....didn't care at all for 'his versions' of 'Holiday', 'Material Girl' or 'Express Yourself' either

  2. "Interesting the you mention a reworking of ‘Drowned World’. That could be very good, I was speculating on that just the other day. The original demos sound magical and golden. But I’d only do it as an exercise in musical possibilities for myself. M doesn’t look backwards readily and there are, naturally, Warner Bros considerations which are way above my head."

personally 'Drowned World' grows old very gracefully...a reworking? didn't think as co writer/co producer he'd need the ok from M and more worringly from WB?!

  3. Jealous of Mirwais

not to be taken out of context...

"Did I really say that I was ‘Jealous’? I never get jealous. But ‘envious’ maybe, And I only put it that way as a tribute to the man. I cannot sound the way he does even if I try and I truly appreciate that kind of musicality when it’s done as well as that! I would be interested to know what he is up to these days. Meanwhile, I’m very happy in my own sonic world, although still pushing away at the borders"

  4. as a follower of William Orbit on twitter, followed comments to his own blog were he answers some Q's re M...

    http://www.williamorbit.com/blog

head to the 'comments' section...and click on 'reply' to whichever Q....it's not all about M obviously, but does indeed make quite interesting reading...

    example:

I had to listen to the ‘Music’ album tracks on which I’d participated the other day for something that Warners had requested. I cringed when I heard ‘American Pie’. A song that truly deserves it’s place at the top of the ‘worst-ever-cover-versions’ roll of dishonour! What were we thinking?

But ‘Runaway Lover’ sounded so good. It has stood the test of time very well and has a superb vocal from M. She very much sculpted the way that it sounds on the album. I was a bit spaced out during that one I recall and Mark (Spike) Stent did an excellent mix.

What really got me thinking is that the song ‘Amazing’ did not ever reach its full potential. i would love to mix that one again. There are elements that didn’t make it to the final. What else?, … ‘Gone’ is sort of alright.

he still speaks in high regard of his work with M...

  5. I can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that Madonna is rerecording one of her early singles, which she consideres 'the ultimate one that got away', to be the lead single on her upcoming 'Greatest Hits & Best Of The Rest' 4 CD package.

    Until next time, 'EVERYBODY'

not ANOTHER exclusive Mr N? :bruised:

  6. And just think, with Leona's total sales of Spirit over 2.3 million (and counting), it means 1 in every 30 people in this country own this album in some format or another. Walk down a busy high road and SHIVER at that statistic every time you pass 30 people.

    Quite shocking really. :scared:

i'm not 1 of those 30....which isn't necessarily a 'true' statistic...some ppl may have multiple copies of LL album?

  7. It's sad that some people feel that stealing music is justifiable.

just as sad is that for all of M's career Warners have consistently 'ripped' off her own fans, left right and centre?

never been 'value' for money corporate organistion has it? and thats not just aimed at Warners either??

  8. The nature of the charts has changed. Many hits from one album or long lasting streaks will be rare (and I mean not just for Madonna). Also I don't think that a video or TV appearances would matter a lot to MA chart position, but perhaps they could have helped the album, which is the point in releasing a 3rd or 4th single anyway.

of course it has, and will continue to change too....i thought M had left Warners already? So why is she gonna be fussed promoting this single?

Obv Warners couldn't be bothered to push for a video either....and the mixes weren't that great either?

and missing the UK Top 40 [possibly] - she's in good company, after a dozen top 20 hits Coldplay's new 'single' fell from its chart peak of #54!!
