Listen people, don’t you get it?????????

In the last several weeks Celine Dion has added extra dates in her Taking Chances Tour because she knew that she couldn’t gross more than Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet 58 dates, despite having twice more shows scheduled (about 120 dates).

Celine Dion fans have been complaining on her forums that they have been tricked, they bought expensive tickets for her supposed final shows, but after that several more date have been added continuously. Don’t you get it, what Celine’s team did was to add those extra shoes so that they can make sure she overpasses Madonna’s SS Tour?

Celine’s tour was officially programmed to be over around 12 February (the same when her tour started, a year ago), but now it’s 26 February, because team Celine added more shows, realising that TCT couldn’t outgross Madonna’s SS Tour with only those dates, even though they were already twice more shows than Madonna’s 58 (around 120, now thay are 134 because of the last dates added in the last moment).

What Madonna and Live Nation should do is to quickly announce a 2nd part for her SS Tour early this year and put ticketes for sales. Madonna can easily sellout several stadiums in Australia, Asia, Eastern Europe (Turkey, Russia etc) and for instance easily add 50 million $ to her total so far (280 million $), from only 10 shows

It would be such a shame for her tour not to ramain the first tour for a solo artist, because there were only 58 dates in only 4 months, whereas Celine’s has 134 dates in more than a year (with the extra shows added in the last moment on purpose to outgross Madonna)!!! and even so it will be so close!!!

Madonna should stop directing stupid movies next year that nobody cares about, cancel all her side projects and concentrate on adding some extra dates to her SS Tour, she only needs 10-15 stadium shows (over 50 million $ in gross) that she could do in a month or so to maintain her record! I’m sure that’s what her fans want!!!!!

  4. Madonna - Sticky And Sweet Down Under

Local News, By Christian Taylor, 28th October, 2008

First Madonna was coming to Australia. And then she wasn’t coming. Now this morning on Channel Seven’s Sunrise Molly Meldrum confirmed that Madonna is infact bringing her Sticky And Sweet Tour to Australia after all, and it could be as early as January 2009.

According to Sunrise there are two promoters fighting over Madonna right now, and ticket prices are yet to be confirmed. It’s also unknown whether she will bring the entire stage and production elements of the Sticky And Sweet Tour, or if it will be a scaled back version of the show.

Media reported on the last round of negotiations, alleging that Madonna was offered “millions of dollars” to play two stadium gigs in Sydney and Melbourne. Whether the current offers will see her touring to more Australian cities remains to be seen.

Madonna hasn’t toured here since her Girlie Show in November 1993.

  5. http://perezhilton.com/2008-09-12-madonnas...ucified-by-fans

We love her, but - by many accounts - Madonna failed miserably to impress her non-A-list fans at her London concert on Thursday.

In fact, a number of reports like this one and this one called the show a disaster!

We also received quite a few emails from disgruntled fans in attendance at Wembley.

Perezcious reader, John, tells us :

    Was a disaster.

Noone could see the stage, or the video screens.

She came on 1 hour late, and couldnt be arsed. Mimed 98% of the gig and due to her being late, left 40,000 people stranded with no transport links in west london. Dont know about anyone else, but it took me 6 hours, 3 cabs, 6 buses and £100 to get home….

Another Perezcious reader, James, also expressed his displeasure with Madge:

…I wasnt prepared for the awful sound quality. When the show started everyone around me was shocked for the poor sound quality in the stadium. All we could hear was a buzzing noise. I couldnt understand what she was saying and it took me about a minute into each song to actually understant what song she was singing. Also watching her singing in the screens i realised that the sound was coming to us with 1-2 seconds delay. It was just a big awful mess. I dont know how the sound was in the arena area but on the upper stands of the stadium the sound was appauling. And we aint talking about a few hundreds of people being affected. Around 30.000 people must have been sitting on the upper stands. Also the atmospehere because of that and because of the stage being so far was really cold amongst the fans. You know the feeling when you are passing outside a concert and you can just here the songs with that buzzing noise? It felt like that and it didnt feel like we were inside a concert event. People around me started leaving just after 45 minutes (of a 2 hour show) and just after the hour they were leaving in masses, You could see the dissapointment. For such a bad sound and visual quality you would expect tickets on the upper stands to go for $20-30 just to fill the space. But instead tickets were going for $150 to $300. Seems that Madonna knowing that her fans would kill for a ticket and sell out the venues, replaced the quality of "smaller" arenas of 25.000 people with the quantity of 80.000 stadiums. I also left before the show ended. I read that she was really angry when their were problems with her giant screens in her concert in Nice as she is a perfectionist. I would forgive it if the screens werent working in London. But to not be able to hear the music in a music concert is really unforgivable.

James also went on to say that the UK's Times review was on point when it wrote:

Madonna was least convincing when she grabbed a guitar for a rock remake of Borderline and a dreadful Ray of Light marred by shrill, brittle vocals that surfaced sporadically throughout the 90-minute set. She even spoilt Hung Out with faux metal guitarist antics that set women in rock back about eight years.

In its review of the Madge gig, The Daily Mail also makes mention of the transportation problems fans faced due to her late start.

It really sucks to be a regular Joe.

Hope Madge has a long think about things and won't screw the little guy over in her upcoming shows!

  8. Kaine: Madonna Concert Montage is ‘Stupid’

    by Associated Press

    Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Facebook Stumble Upon del.icio.us Digg Email

RICHMOND, Va. — Governor Tim Kaine said Madonna’s allusion in a concert video to Republican John McCain alongside Adolf Hitler is “stupid.”

But Kaine said Tuesday that Democrat Barack Obama has no duty to comment on what a pop star is saying about political figures in her new “Sticky and Sweet” concert tour.

In his monthly call-in show on Washington’s WTOP radio, Kaine said he was unaware of the video montage. Played as part of the concert, the montage grouped McCain’s picture alongside those of Hitler and Zimbabwe’s dictator, Robert Mugabe.

When a caller to the show from Warrenton asked Kaine about it, he replied that if anyone is making that kind of characterization, “they’re stupid and it’s wrong.”

  9. The video segment was also condemned by Mr Obama's campaign, but they did not miss the opportunity to attack their rival's attack adverts. "These comparisons are outrageous and offensive and have no place in the political process," Obama campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor said. "We hope that John McCain will offer a similar condemnation as his allies increasingly practice sleazy swift boat tactics."

  10. Coldplay number one again in static top three

    10:00 | Monday July 14, 2008

    By Alan Jones

In a frozen top three, Coldplay’s Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends is the number one again yet again, with sales of 40,111 providing it with a comfortable cushion over Duffy’s Rockferry.

In a frozen top three, Coldplay’s Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends is the number one again yet again, with sales of 40,111 providing it with a comfortable cushion over Duffy’s Rockferry – number two for the fourth week in a row and seventh time in total, on sales of 29,227 – and Chris Brown’s revised Exclusive which holds on to the new peak placing of number three it achieved last week, selling a further 19,802 copies.

Viva La Vida has sold at a slower clip than its immediate predecessor, X&Y, but beats that album’s four-week reign, and becomes the first album to spend five weeks at number one since Leona Lewis’ Spirit spent seven weeks at number one in a run that started last November.

After reaching number 11 with their debut hit single I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You, and number 36 with follow-up Hurricane Jane, Florida’s Black Kids provide the highest-ranking of nine debuts on the album chart this week, with their introductory set Partie Traumatic.

In at number five on sales of 14,175 copies as the group continues a gruelling tour of clubs and festivals throughout the UK and Europe, the album was produced by former Suede man Bernard Butler, who also helmed the biggest album of the year to date, Duffy’s Rockferry.

The eclectic genius that is Beck celebrated his 37th birthday last Tuesday (8th) and marks the occasion by securing his highest charting album yet, debuting at number nine with Modern Guilt on sales of 11,478 copies.

Of six previous chart albums dating back to 1994, his highest charting was 2005’s Guero (number 15), while 1996’s Odelay was his biggest seller (367,821 sales). Because each copy of his last (2006) album The Information had a different sleeve, it was not eligible to chart but would have reached number 17.

Although Give It 2 Me is becalmed ahead of physical release today (it moves 18-17 on sales of 9,260), its radio, club and TV support are helping Madonna’s Hard Candy album, which rebounds 24-14 on sales of 9,751.

The album has sold 228,725 copies since its release 11 weeks ago, putting it a little ahead of the pace set by Madonna’s last studio album American Life, which had sold 216,541 copies at the same stage of its life in 2003 on its way to total sales of 335,115.

With the Mamma Mia musical now attracting big audiences to UK cinemas, the soundtrack album – featuring contributions from the likes of Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan – debuts at number one on the compilation chart, after attracting 35,766 sales.

Meanwhile, the London original cast recording, dating back to 1999, vaults 66-35 on the artist album chart (4,631 sales), while all of Abba’s back catalogue enjoys increased sales.

Gold: Greatest Hits explodes 43-12 (10,156 sales) to achieve its highest chart placing since 2004, while 2005’s 18 Hits compilation – number 46 in 2007 – re-enters the chart at number 54 (3,558 sales).

Beck’s XL Recordings debut, Modern Guilt, enters at number nine to eclipse the peak position of his six previous chart albums, all on Geffen.

Beck’s album is the sixth on XL Recordings to chart this year - a record for the 19-year-old label from The Beggars Group stable – following Radiohead’s In Rainbows(number one), Vampire Weekend’s eponymous debut (number 15), Adele’s 19 (number one), The Raconteurs’ Consolers Of The Lonely (number eight) and The Colourful Life by Cajun Dance Party (number 49).

Overall album sales dip for the fourth straight week, falling 6.2% to 2,018,440. That’s the 17th biggest total in 28 chart weeks in 2008 but the lowest for seven weeks. It’s also 5.62% below same week 2007 sales of 2,138,669.

Already number one on download sales, Dizzee Rascal’s Dance Wiv Me was released on 12-inch and CD last Monday, and consequently romps to an easy second week at the singles chart summit, with sales increasing by 7.4% to 53,083 – the highest for a number one single for 15 weeks.

Although overall singles sales are marginally (0.1%) down at 1,922,169, the rest of the top three also find extra thrust, with Basshunter’s All I Ever Wanted (3-2) up 31.3% at 34,189, and Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown’s No Air (4-3) collaboration enjoying a 34.2% surge to 28,442 sales.

Labels like Positiva, Multiply, Manifesto and Data all had envious early success rates but the Ministry Of Sound’s Hard2Beat is the first dance imprint to open its account with four straight top five hits.

First release, Now You’re Gone by Basshunter, reached number one, H Two O’s What’s It Gonne Be reached number two, September’s Cry For You reached number four and now Basshunter’s second single, All I Ever Wanted – whose H2B08CDS catalogue number suggests it is the label’s eight release - improves 3-2, as noted above.

Comprising Arctic Monkeys’ vocalist Alex Turner and Miles Kane of The Rascals, The Last Shadow Puppets reached number nine with their debut single The Age Of Understatement in April, and topped the album chart with their long player of the same name a week later.

Their second single, Standing Next To Me, seems set for a lower peak, having debuted this week at number 30 on combined sales of 5,037 copies of downloads, CD and two 7-inch variants.

But it’s had a galvanising effect on their album, which has rocketed 105-40-15 in the last fortnight, and sold 8,685 copies last week to take its 12-week career tally to 128,358.

Brighton band The Kooks had the biggest hit of their career with Always Where I Need To Be, the first single from their second album Konk, which reached number three, surpassing the six singles they lifted off their debut album, Inside In/Inside Out.

In the Top 10 of the airplay chart for three weeks, follow-up Shine On was issued on seven-inch and CD last week, and advances 53-25 on sales of 6,514. Konk catches a very slight updraft, improving 45-38 on sales of 4,432.

While predecessor Rockstar dips 56-64 on the 39th week of its Top 75 residency, Nickelback’s “follow-up” Photograph climbs 29-18 (7,869 sales) to reach a new peak.

In reality, Photograph was a single before Rockstar, and reached number 29 in 2005. It received scant attention from radio then but is now a major airplay hit, and its success seems to have reassured many ditherers that the album All The Right Reasons – home to both songs – is worth a punt, as it returns to the Top 10 after an absence of 11 weeks, jumping 15-8 on sales of 12,230.

With three UK singles chart entries between 1999 and 2001, none of which went higher than number 25, Kid Rock was so cold that So Hott, the first single from his current album, Rock N Roll Jesus, sold just 220 copies when released last Autumn, and US follow-up Amen didn’t get released here at all – but he’s hot now, as All Summer Long storms 46-6 on sales of 21,015 downloads.

The track, which samples both Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama and Warren Zevon’s Werewolves Of London, is in the Top 10 of the airplay chart with massive support from Radio Two (16 plays last week) but only three spins on Radio One.

It recently topped the charts in Germany and Austria and makes its US Hot 100 debut this week at number 80. Britney Spears will soon collaborate with Madonna again, and the embattled singer is psyched to reunite with her idol, says a pal.

The pop icons are teaming up to film a segment that is expected to be part of Madonna's upcoming Sticky & Sweet tour. "Britney is excited, but in a grown up way,” says the source, who has seen the singer through her recent ups-and-downs. “She has come a long way in the last year.”

According to the source, Spears, 26, who used to make headlines for her late-night outings and reckless driving, has been showing new signs of maturity. “She has settled down and is full of life but not childish,” says the pal. Under the supervision of her father, Jamie, Britney regained overnight visits with her sons, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, and has also re-teamed with her former manager, Larry Rudolph.

“Working with Madonna is a dream, but I think she feels like it’s one she’s earned," says the pal. "She’s respectful but full of her own ideas about the work."

The friend also maintains that Spears has also regained her focus, both mentally and professionally. "I think that so many people have no idea that Britney is fully aware of what’s going on. She may not always have been, but she is now," says the pal. "And she is – if not in control – in partnership with her father and her managers in her future."

  12. Madonna Throws Britney A Bone

    By Sara Schaefer

Britney Spears is going to appear in some video footage for Madonna’s new tour. Shooting is expected to begin today and Spears’ reps say that the video will be very “deep”. I believe it. I had the great pleasure of seeing a Madonna concert a few years back - and it’s no joke. The videos she plays (on gigantic screens) are frighteningly weird and are definitely making an attempt at being deep. The one I saw was reminiscent of the video from The Ring. If we’re lucky, we’ll see Britney dancing around on a horse carcass and then throwing herself off a cliff.

But what fascinates me about this whole situation is how it came about. Britney and Madonna have worked together in the past, but since Brit’s downward spiral, I imagine this video is a charity move on Madonna’s part. Because let’s face it: this is essentially like playing an extra in a video that appears while Madonna changes costumes.

Anyway, I imagine the conversation went down something like this:

Madonna: No sweetie, you can’t actually be ON stage with me. [britney begins shaking and crying.] Oh…no no no…it’s all right, shhhhh - don’t worry about it, maybe next time okay? [Madonna reaches out to comfort Britney.]

Britney: [Violently smacking Madonna’s hand away] No! [sobbing] Don’t you touch me, Madonna!

    Madonna: Oh dear. Ummm…

Britney: BRITNEY WANT TO DANCEY ON MADONNA TOUR!

Madonna: But you don’t have it any—

    Britney: BRITNEY WANT TO DANCEY!

Read the rest of this intense scene after the jump.

Madonna: Oh my, okay okay…[suddenly getting an idea] HEY! I’ve got a GREAT idea…why don’t you be in my VIDEOS? You wanna be in a special video that plays on a 50 foot screen floating above the audience? Huh?

    Britney: [sniffling] 50 foot screen?

Madonna: Yes, it’s sooo big and it moves too!

Britney: [calming down] I like moving.

Madonna: I know you do. Now why don’t you come over here and wipe some of that lipstick off your forehead.

Britney: [smiling] I gonna be in Madonna video!

Madonna: Yes, yes you are. It’s going to be REALLY deep.

    SCENE.

As always, feel free to use this scene for acting class / auditions.

Madge asks Britney back on stageBy PETE SAMSON

    Published: Today

MADONNA has asked troubled BRITNEY SPEARS to join her on tour — and pals hope she will give guidance to the young star.

The Queen Of Pop, 49, is set to record a video with Britney, 26, in New York tomorrow.

The footage will be broadcast on huge screens as part of Madge’s Sticky and Sweet tour, which kicks off on August 23.

Madonna has also invited Britney to appear in person on some of the world tour dates.

A source close to Britney revealed: 揟hey are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show.

揂nd they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too.

揟here’s no doubt that her and Britney together will spell fireworks again.

    Comeback

揑t’s hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self. Appearing with Madonna would really kickstart her career again. She’s been there and done it so could provide some great guidance.?

Britney and Madonna stunned fans at the MTV Music Awards in 2003 by sharing a passionate kiss.

The source added: 揑f anyone can mastermind a Britney comeback, it’s Madonna.

揕ots of people will be hoping there’s a repeat of the kissing incident a few years ago.?

The Toxic singer has always been a huge fan of Madge — and even converted to her Kabbalah religion. But it has been reported that their relationship cooled after Britney lost interest in the mystical Jewish faith.

The source added: 揗aybe this means Britney is ready to devote to Kabbalah again as she tries to sort herself out.?

Madonna’s new tour to support album Hard Candy promises to be her sexiest yet.

She will turn 50 a week before it kicks off in Cardiff — but still plans to shock fans with a controversial stage show.

The singer will even pretend to be MUMMIFIED as part of a routine.

Britney lost custody of kids Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James as she battled her demons.

  14. Celine will break madonnas ticket sales record.
