  1. Xavier69 tells guy he loves "Celebration" album version... "Working on a few more remixes.. stay tuned" is what Guy tells him.

    Materiallboy asks him about a new tour next year?

    " I don't see a new tour next year.. definitely not summertime..." Guy says.

    Later on, her confirms that "as I've promised... we will definitely go to Australia next tour."

    There are no plans for Madonna to do SNL or any other TV as of now

    Then Guy says goodnight to the Twitterers saying "thanks again to all of you for helping Greatest Hits sell 2 million albums in just 2 weeks.."

  4. Streisand bids to hold off Madonna Celebration

    10:32 | Tuesday October 6, 2009

    By Paul Williams

    Two of the most successful female artists of all time are in a battle to top this coming Sunday’s UK albums chart, with just several hundred sales separating Barbra Streisand and Madonna.

    A Jonathan Ross special screened with Streisand last Friday has helped sales of her current Columbia album Love Is The Answer lift by around 44% week on week as she looks to achieve her first UK chart-topper with a new studio set since 1980’s Guilty. Her number ones since then have been retrospectives: 1982’s Love Songs and The Essential Barbra Streisand 20 years later.

    However, Madonna is not too far behind at this stage of the week with her Warner best of Celebration and could well recapture the number one crown taken from her last week by Paramore’s Fueled By Ramen/Atlantic album Brand New Eyes.

    Island signings Mumford & Sons are likely to claim highest new entry honours with their album Sigh No More presently among the week’s biggest sellers, while veteran rockers Kiss also look poised for the Top 10 with the newly-issued Roadrunner/Warner album Sonic Boom.

    At least half a dozen other brand new albums should debut in the Top 40 at the weekend, among them new retrospectives from Chris Rea (Rhino/Warner) and Andy Williams (Sony) and new studio albums from Tiesto, who is signed to Musical Freedom, Jive/RCA’s Backstreet Boys and Virgin’s Air.

    Jive act Chipmunk is strongly placed to debut at one on the singles chart with Oopsy Daisy, which is currently outselling its two nearest rivals combined: Fascination/Polydor act Saturdays’ brand new single Forever Is Over and the Roc Nation/Atlantic-issued Empire State Of Mind by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys. Island act Taio Cruz, who secured a third week at one last Sunday with Break Your Heart, is the next biggest seller.

    Whitney Houston is on course for her first Top 40 hit in nearly seven years with the Arista/RCA release Million Dollar Bill, while expect a number of double-digit climbers within the 40, including from Epic’s Daughtry, Island’s Tinchy Stryder and Atlantic’s Jason Mraz whose long-running I’m Yours’ sales have almost doubled from last week after X Factor contestant Lloyd Daniels performed it. Meanwhile, 4AD act The Big Pink should make the Top 40 for the first time with their new single Dominos.

    The full midweek singles and albums charts are on Musicweek.com.

  5. Madonna vs. Lady Gaga on 'SNL'

    By Roger Catlin on October 4, 2009 12:23 AM | Permalink | Comments (0)

    The first TV encounter of Madonna and Lady Gaga came during "Saturday Night Live" this week, when the Material Girl appeared unannounced in a Deep House Dish skit alongside the contemporary hitmaker when a similar bizarre visual bent.

    A few bars into a song and dance number, Madonna grabbed Lady Gaga's blonde hair and here was one of those cliched hair-pulling catfights in skimpy outfits. "What the hell is a disco stick?" she demanded.

    The dance number didn't seem to go as planned. Lady Gaga sang while Madonna didn't. It didn't matter -- seeing them together was the big thing.

    Invited to sit on the couch, they continued their fake fighting.

    "Guess what Madonna I'm totally hotter than you!"

    "Guess what I'm totally taller than you," she replied adding: "What kind of name is Lady Gaga. It sounds like baby food..."

    "The kind that's No. 1 on the Billboard charts," Gaga replied lunging on her.

    Keenan Thompson's character wanted them to make up. And because some dude wrote it, he asked them to kiss. Madonna's kiss to other female pop stars has been some kind of annointment in the past, as when she laid on on Britney Spears at a past MTV video music awards. But Keenan's character interjected himself between them to receive their kisses.

    Madonna was the biggest of several guest stars on the show, ironically hosted by one of the least known stars, Ryan Reynolds.

    Darrell Hammond, apparently freelancing on the show after the longest run as a cast member made his first "Saturday Night Live" appearance as Arnold Schwarzenegger, behind so much prosthetic makeup he was hardly recognizable.

    The Letterman situation was mentioned in "Weekend Update" as a "Stupid human trick." But a whole retro "Celebrity Family Fued" skit was built around the John Phillips revelation.

  6. YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 (OR 15) CHART PREVIEW: A shitload of debuts (figuratively speaking) will infiltrate the top of next week’s chart. Outside the holiday months of November and December, next week could mark the first time in nearly two years when each of the Top 15 sells more than 40k. Next Tuesday they may well be popping the champagne corks at Hollywood, in Disney’s first hat trick since they sold the Mighty Ducks. Congrats to topper Peter Paterno… Scratch that—we just learned Peter’s no longer at the label… Columbia could hit the trifecta as well, if you throw in a certain blonde bombshell from Area Code 615. Anyhoo, here’s what we’re looking at—and while we’re at it, here’s looking at you, kid....

    * Paramore (Fueled by Ramen) 185-195k

    * Mariah Carey (Island/IDJ) 160-170k

    * Barbra Streisand (Columbia) 150-160k

    * Breaking Benjamin (Hollywood) 140-150k

    * Alice in Chains (Virgin) 130-140k

    Jay-Z (Roc Nation) 80-85k

    * Miranda Lambert (Columbia Nashville) 70-75k

    * Madonna (Warner Bros.) 65-70k

    Pearl Jam (Monkeywrench) 65-70k

    * AFI (Interscope) 55-60k

    * Selena Gomez & the Scene (Hollywood) 55-60k

    Whitney Houston (Arista/RMG) 45-50k

    Miley Cyrus (Hollywood) 40-45k

    * Dethklok (Williams Street) 40-45k

    Harry Connick Jr. (Columbia) 40-45k

    * Denotes debut

    You may now return to debating a possible re-fi with your spouse. (10/2a)

  7. http://www.billboard.com/#/news/mariah-carey-paramore-battling-for-no-1-1004017631.story

    Next week's Billboard 200 albums chart is going to be flush with new releases, including a race for No. 1 between Mariah Carey's new "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" and Paramore's third album "Brand New Eyes." Based on early prognostications from industry sources, each album could sell between 160,000 to 170,000 in their first week.

    For Paramore, the Fueled By Ramen/Atlantic act will easily charge in with their best sales week and highest charting album ever. The band's sophomore set, "Riot!," peaked at No. 15 in 2007.

    As for Carey, if her Island effort hits No. 1, it will give the diva her seventh chart-topper and would tie her with Madonna for the second-most No. 1s on the Billboard 200 among women. Only Barbra Streisand, with eight No. 1s, has more.

    Speaking of Streisand, the legendary Columbia singer's new "Love Is The Answer" is on course to start with around 150,000. It should easily enter the top 10 next week, marking the icon's 30th top 10 set.

    Also aiming to start near 150,000 is Breaking Benjamin's new "Dear Agony." The effort is the Hollywood Records band's first release since 2006's "Phobia" debuted and peaked at No. 2 with 125,000.

    Alice in Chains is also going to make a splash next week, as its "Black Gives Way to Blue" could move between 110,000 to 120,000. It's the band's first effort with new vocalist William DuVall, who picked up the mic in 2006, replacing the band's late frontman Layne Staley.

    Other albums in the hunt for handsome debuts next week include Miranda Lambert's "Revolution," AFI's "Crash Love," Madonna's greatest hits set "Celebration," Selena Gomez & the Scene's "Kiss & Tell" and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "God & Guns."

    Nielsen SoundScan's sales tracking week, as reflected in Billboard's sales charts, runs from Monday through Sunday of each week. Next week's album charts will be revealed on Wednesday, Oct. 7 and will reflect data through the week ending Sunday, Oct. 4.

  8. StreetPulse FAQ

    How is the music tracked for each format determined?

    All songs on the Mediabase Tuesday Rolling Chart in each format have a minimum of five spins for the week. These songs are assigned to the appropriate CD, and every morning sales are compiled and a top 50 sales chart is created.

    How are ranks determined?

    Ranks are based on pieces sold throughout the country.

    When are the sales charts updated?

    All the charts are updated daily at 8a (east coast).

    Why is the #1 most played song in the format not on the sales chart?

    Check the street date. Release date to retail can sometimes be much later than radio.

    I know this CD is selling at retail, why don't I see it on the sales chart?

    Because there isn't a song from the CD with at least five spins on the Mediabase Tuesday Rolling Chart.

    A CD is released on a Tuesday. When will it debut on the chart?

    If the song has enough airplay and sales to qualify, the CD will debut the day after street date.

    If an artist appears on national TV, when will I see a sales spike?

    It will take a total of two days: one day for purchase, and the following day it will register on the chart.

    What is the percentage Sales up/down based on?

    This measures the increase or decrease of sales from the previous week. An arrow represents a sales increase from the previous week.

    What type of retailers are you tracking?

    StreetPulse reporters run the scope of major, chain, independent, and websites.

    How often is the sales information updated?

    We track sales information directly from the point-of-sales system from each individual store location at the closing of every day. Our data is updated seven days a week.

    Madonna Makes History In The UK!

    Filed under: Madonna > Music Minute

    That-a-girl!

    Madonna, with her new "Greatest Hits" album Celebration, has just acquired the top spot on the UK album list.

    This marks her 11th number one in the UK. That ties her with Evis and puts her just behind the Beatles for most #1 albums in UK history.

    This feat marks yet another record for Madonna, the most successful female solo artist of all time. She has also:

    Spent more weeks at number one (29) of the Official UK Album Chart than any other female solo artist.

    Had more UK number one singles (13) than any other female solo artist.

    Achieved the chart double (simultaneous number one album and single) more times (4) than any other female solo artist.

    Completed the highest grossing tour in history (her recent Sticky & Sweet tour) for a female artist.

    Madonna’s UK number one albums:

    Like a Virgin (1984)

    0ATrue Blue (1986)

    Like a Prayer (1989)

    Michael Jackson tapes reveal love for Hitler and James Bulger killers

    Last updated at 09:03am on 25.09.09

    Add your view

    Michael Jackson praised Hitler and wanted to hug the killers of James Bulger, according to a series of taped conversations which have only now come to light.

    Interviews: Michael Jackson reveals all

    The singer also wanted to date Princess Diana and thought Madonna was in love with him but jealous of his success in more than 30 hours of interviews he recorded with a rabbi.

    Jackson talks of his admiration for Hitler and believed he could have rehabilitated the Nazi mass-murderer if they had an hour alone together.

    He said: “Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate he had to be a showman and he was.”

    Asked if he had the ability to make Hitler change his ways, Jackson replies: “Absolutely. I know I could. You have to help them, give them therapy, teach them that somewhere, something in their life went wrong.”

    Jackson, who died in June aged 50 from a drug related heart attack, was recorded speaking to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach eight years ago for interviews which he is claimed to have known would be published.

    The singer tells the rabbi how he argued with his first wife Lisa Marie Presley who called him an “idiot” for wanting to visit Robert Thompson and Jon Venables in jail after they murdered two-year-old James Bulger in Liverpool in 1993.

    He said: “I said (to Presley): How dare you say that? I bet if you trace their life you can find they didn't have parents around, they didn't have any love, nobody there to hold them, look in their eyes and say I love you.

    “They deserve that, even though they're going to get life. I just want to say I love you and hold them.'”

    The interviews have been in a new book The Michael Jackson Tapes which goes on sale in America and online today.

    Rabbi Boteach, who was based at Oxford University, met Jackson through mutual friend Uri Geller, and made the recordings at the Neverland ranch.

    Speaking candidly about women he loved, Jackson said he secretly wanted to date Princess Diana, but was too shy to ask her.

    “I thought she was very special - very feminine and classy. She was my type for sure and I don't like most girls. There are very few I like who fit the mould. It takes a very special mould to make me happy and she was one of them,” he says of Diana.

    The singer also claimed supermodel Cindy Crawford had flirted with him and he considered dating his friend Elizabeth Taylor, but was worried the press would label them “The Odd Couple”.

    Jackson said of Madonna: “I think she was sincerely in love with me and I was not in love with her. She did a lot of crazy things. I knew we had nothing in common. She is not sexy at all. I think sexy comes from the heart in the way you present yourself.”

    He goes on to claim Madonna was jealous because she wished she was in his “shoes” with screaming fans and the “fainting and adulation” that Jackson received.

    Rabbi Boteach, 42, claims the interviews were meant to be published while Jackson was still alive, but were held up because of the child abuse allegations.

    He said: “He was a man who yearned so deeply to do good with his life but was ultimately consumed by indescribable loneliness and pain.”
