Madonna breaks her own record in Montreal
News is coming in that Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour date in Montreal on Wednesday 22 October sold out in 7 minutes this morning. Another show was added straight away for Thursday 23 October and both shows were considered 'sold out' in 27 minutes.
This beats the record of a 32 minutes sell out for Madonna's two Confessions Tour dates in Montreal back in 2006.

landing in the Guinness Book of World Records . Confessions of a Dance Floor has been #1 in 40 countries, "Hung Up" has been #1 in 41 countries, with both of those statistics being records.
That's the first time someone has stated that COADF was #1 in 40 countries, it's always was 29 countries in all the articles I've seen. Can you provide a link to that info?
-
coadf #1 in 41 countries (a record for any artist)
No. COADF #1 in 29 countries. HU #1 in 41 countries.
-
Very smart move on her part.
-
Wow, who would have thought 4m would top the charts for 4 weeks (hopefully even more…).

Hard Candy is only the second artist album to post a sales tally of more than 90,000 so far in 2008, trailing only the 183,874 first week tally, and second week 97,645 scored by Duffy’s Rockferry in March.
Hard Candy’s efforts helped overall album sales last week to improve by 9.8% to 2,004,380, providing a modicum of relief for the retail sector, following the previous week’s total of just 1,825,428 sales – the lowest for 54 weeks, and the sixth lowest tally in 382 chart weeks in the 21st century.
Damn, albums sale are fucking low; and they keep on descending….
Most record stores in my area have closed down in the last year or so.

Great. Thanks!

Where's Moomoo?

I don't want to tire anyone here but something is again strange here. I'm from Europe and I really don't get it
So Hard Candy does 100 k in US for its first day (including here all the pre-orders from Amazon and iTunes)
So if it sells an average 15 k per day then it will do what the official sources predicy
1. But doesn't Hard Candy do 15 k per day in UK, a country 5 times smaller than US? WTF?
2. Now how come Payollah Crazey's E(wwww)= M(ore) (Cows)2 did close to 150 k in its first day when its pre-orders were less bigger than Hard Candy, which did only 100 k in its first day?
So it's like her fans didn't pre-order her album but then went to buy in its first day likecrazy? I'm not saying she didn't do those numbers but it's strange if u think about it
How come an album that has less pre-orders sells more in its first day? It's not normal
Agree actually. Was thinking that same thing; it's not right…
-
mariah's only had 6 #1 albums? i'm surprised by that. is that including her new one too?
Yes.
-
Good, but not great after she whored the fuck out of this album.
-
HC #1!!!!!!!!
-
HD @ #5.
Moomoo @ #3.
-
Hate AI; lowest crap ever.
-
Ugh, I thought it's gonna be higher.
-
WOO HOO!
-
-
Hard Candy doesn't seem to be doing that well on Amazon UK x
Idiot lambs rated it with 1 & 2 stars, so now the average rating of HC is 3 stars. I'm sure that doesn't help to the sales...!
-
HC @ #4.
4M @ #1, still.
Same right now.
TMB only @ #11.
-
HC @ #4.
4M @ #1, still.

Another 14 concerts to be announced
The hype for Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour is still going strong as tickets are selling like hot cakes across the globe.
Sticky & Sweet has already surpassed the 1 million-ticket mark and 14 concerts have yet to go on sale. Madonna has a total of 55 concerts scheduled for her tour. Eight concerts in South America, four concerts in Europe and two concerts in North America still haven’t been announced.
90 percent of Sticky & Sweet Tour tickets are already sold out. Live Nation’s chairman of Global Music and CEO of Global Touring, Arthur Fogel, said, “With Sticky & Sweet, Madonna is on track to break her own record as the top grossing female artist of all time.”
Madonna is ranked by the Recording Industry Association of America as the best-selling female rock artist of the twentieth century and the second top-selling female artist in the United States. Even the Guinness World Record lists her as the most successful female recording artist of all time.
Is Madonna on her way to breaking her own ticket sales record?
