I walk slow motion around my house to the intro of EASY RIDE.
Like you said, now whenever I think of AL I think of fat men in sheers and it's a bit of a TURN OFF.
-
Honestly I don't even HATE IT but when someone tries to constantly shove something down your throat you end up disliking it even more. It's fine if neurotica_blu has some sort of AL fixation but all this YOURE WRONG IM RIGHT YOURE DELUDED shit needs to STOP.

I don't think she'll throw herself into another film that quickly.
If anything, I have a feeling she'll write a lot of material on tour and I expect the next album to come out sooner than we expect. Probably for 2014.
Does she ever write on tour? The only song I know that was made on tour is ILNY and that was severely reworked.

What did Orbit say?
That there wasn't enough time because one of the engineers was shit and Madonna was caught up in other endeavours.
-
I think some of the stuff on it is BRILLIANT and easily stands next to her other great songs (Gang Bang, I'm Addicted, LoveSpent, Falling Free). The middle part sags though and especially the Solveig songs. They're so... limp. Especially if you add in some of the bonus tracks it's clear he just WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH.
-
Could u elaborate on that?
I got spit on my screen
-
But the massive portion of MDNA is radio friendly pop songs?
-
"We were very pushed for time, due to a rather interesting and shall we just say, 'traditional' method of recording that the esteemed engineer Demo was partial to, and various pressing commitments that took up the artists limited time, such as perfume ranges and teen fashion contests and other such endeavours which are beyond my own limited understanding of pop star agendas"
To me this expresses not only that the way of recording the album was a bit rushed (to be fair, i don't feel any rushing in the tracks produced by Orbit, in fact they sound so good!). I think it expresses that the album released was rushed. I felt that too: I think that Superbowl was the thing that changed everything.
I think the recording was rushed and was done in fits and starts as she was still tweaking that GOD DAMN film, more because they had to have an album she could tour behind, than because she felt inspired and passionate. I said the same thing the other day and everyone (okay just Kurt) jumped down my throat. And now William corroborates it.
-
He seems more upset about what happened during the making of the album than how it was handled subsequently.

I'm afraid to say that I like this version. The final version is Meryl Streep overrated.
American Life better than ROL. Bidet Song the best thing on MDNA. The Gang Bang demo better than the final version. Mmmm hmmm, mmm hmmm, I can see that.

This is one of those songs (along with Superstar) that truly show how "aged" and not "with it" Madonna fans are.
I own a retail store and 90% of my staff are teens and they LOVE this song. I notice young teenage customers enjoying this song as well when it comes on.
so there...
Being 'with it' means loving Bidet Song (and LMFAO I guess)? Okay...
-
I do like her vocal but the song is completely forgettable in this incarnation. The album version feels light years away (thank God).
-
Blimey, where did thy get all those old 12" singles from?!
I wish I owned a turntable sometimes. They look so lush. The ROL ones especially.
-
Exactly
+ "Gangbang" instead of "Gang Bang"
+ "I Don't Give A Fuck" instead of "I Don't Give A"
He clearly hasn't heard it. FAIL.
I suspect it was more that he was taking notes while listening to the songs and not reading the actual liner notes on the CD.
-
"The MDNA tracks... I'm thrilled... though I have to say.... I saw how they could've been better from day 1."
He's proud, but not proud enough apparently.
Er... if he saw how they could be better why didn't he MAKE them better? I don't think they're bad but he apparently thinks so. What a weird way to undercut your own work and undoubtedly piss off Madonna in the process.

DAMN

oooohhh MDNA only sold 100k copies in the UK so far. It's at 40 in the midweeks chart oooohh she's sealing the end of her career oooooohhhhh boooh
Where 100k copies of MDNA = $1m for Madonna (vs $500m)
And anyway as if the younger acts were selling better than she is, all the whining in that thread is just ridiculous and pointless. MDNA top 10 best-selling record year-end worldwide, after 30 years (and no promo)

Some Girls is too effects heavy to be performed live. Love Spent though
-
They did this to a certain extent for S&S (at least for S&S 2009). Guy posted several backstage/rehearsal/special footage on Youtube
Oh so cool, I hadn't seen this before.
-
I wish she would revisit some of her old hits instead of playing the same songs.
Its time she did Gambler, Take A Bow, and Rain.
I haven't read through this whole thread but I agree with this in principle. She has such a vast arsenal of hits and amazing songs, why stick to playing Music, Vogue and LIB over and over.
-
Did I read correctly? She's not performing the best song from this entire project ie LOVE SPENT? wtf
-
Can you help me out in the UK chart thread, my love? XXL is being a right ol twit!
There's a shocker.
-
I am confused, there's so many setlists floating around. I need some SOLID INFO
Two months later - MDNA is still an Album of Life.
in ARCHIVE - Madonna
