Well i only listen if i like the album so there's your answer! I didn't mind it at all. In fact i went through a bad break up in 2013 so i played that and hard candy a lot during my healing process. Love spent and i don't give a, best friend and i fucked up were on repeat lol.

Yes. Madonna's albums are a road map of my life, especially since I've been an adult. And HC/MDNA/RH/MX are just as good as the others. The moaners just got louder because of social media, etc.

MDNA saved my life in many ways after a break up in 2011. I was angry, it was angry. I was trying to move on with some joy, and so was it.

I really feel that since COADF (and you could even say with American Life) we get a true album cycle that includes the tour of the album. I didn't get to see Madonna live until DWT. It's been great getting basically a tour an album and it really is such a statement. Her live show accompaniment of the album has taken prominence over the music video for her in many ways. While the tours are likely quite hard on her body and emotions, you can see it's such an artistic adventure she loves and controls.

Post of the year. I'm obsessed with this song.

  3. The album is so good it changes every day. Today -

    1 Extreme Occident

    2 Crazy

    3 Faz Gostoso

    4 God Control

    5 I Rise

Also, in a perfect world M and Mirwais would win the Pulitzer for God Control. It’s that good. He’s an absolute Picasso of song structure and I live for it. No one comes close to Madonna in pop.

Also, I don’t consider Ciao Bella for the list as the deluxe is the album to me. That said, it’s possibly my favorite song from her this decade. It’s perfect. I wish it were a single.

  4. IB<E>BS<ROL<Music>AL>COADF<HC>MDNA<RH ... 2 months in I can't decide between RH or MX...both incredible albums and an embarrassment of riches.

Also M/LAV/TB/LAP are all = to each other for me...I have no preference...the 80s output of Madonna is too good (see IC).

Every album is quality. She's never released a subpar album.

I was wondering why there was an uptick in trolls and bots commenting on the video today.

Yep. Drudge is right wing central. Interesting line from the song they used...if people don’t actually watch the video they can surmise M has sympathy for the shooter. That’s no accident.

  6. She’s back on the front of drudgereport with GC video...almost as if it was just released. It’s the photo with blood on her face. She made a stunning manifesto about this topic...it should be front and center after the last 24 hours in the US.

The headline links directly to the video on you tube.

Such a versatile and underrated vocalist.

More so than the voice distortion, it's her phrasing and pacing on the Starrah tracks that really represent a very different type of singing and song from Madonna. It takes getting used to but I actually love it and think it hugely benefits MX and makes the album uber-contemporary. It reminds me of how Pharrell pushed her to sing different on the HC tracks. They are a new sounding Madonna and proves to me her relentless pursuit of modern and different as it relates to creating songs and using her voice in a melody. Sometimes I think she is very much "bored" with her voice or wants to sound different.

As a songwriter and as a vocalist, she is unmatched in the pop world.

  8. I always loved the distortion of her voice (and her natural voice also) on the MUSIC album and this album is its sibling to me. They created a sound and it's clear Madonna and Mirwais wanted to create the tension that voice altering creates. I love it. I still think there's plenty of gorgeous Madonna vocals on MX. No one records Madonna's natural voice better than Mirwais.

Batuka is definitely a special chapter in the Queen’s illustrious visual history. What an important time to release this flawless, emotional video.

Me too! I think it's perfectly done and essential to her visual history.
