The thing about the shootings is that racism aside...these police officers are abusing their position of power! They should not only lose their job but should be blocked from any public service jobs in the future. They should be given a jail sentence!!! The racist issue of America is much deeper than the police force and needs to be tackled properly. There needs to be a cultural change not just a policy.

He could in theory but if he did, he'd get Trump elected. He'd pull from Hillary but not from Trump, and wouldnt get a majority. Trump would. Hello President Trump. Bernie would forever be known for getting Trump elected and nothing else.

so i'm canadian, so i'm a little lost here, but what i can piece together is:

everyone hates hillary because of some emails? and that's why they do not want to vote for her?

There is racism in Canada as well...in America the target of racism are African Americans and in Canada it is the Indigenous peoples. including apartheid like laws against them & misinformed false beliefs held for generations. We also have a faction of whites that believe this is not the case and canada is perfect. trudeau in some ways is helping change all this, but nothing is perfect. there is racism and race trouble in every single country on the planet though.
meanwhile, BlackLivesMatter here protested Toronto Pride because of police pink washing the parade. There was an uproar over that and BLM also mention the racism faced by the Indigenous people. The public/media have not been pretty to either groups, but has changed a bit over time, and will continue to change.
it's not as in your face i guess. but that doesn't mean to down play it.

the shootings of the police should not derail what the people are saying and fighting for...the deaths, no matter who it is, is horrific and should not be happening...period.
but i want to know who is behind these cop killings...cuz i don't trust no one...when does martial law kick in?...u know...hell, if this forum can't talk about race without boiling over into fighting (meanwhile Madonna is the common denominator amongst us all and she's in Kenya)..then we are all fucked.

i cannot watch it and i will not. i cannot escape it on social media. it is beyond tragic. it is like watching a horror movie come to life time and time again.
