I just love how every fuckin' thread at this forum becomes a bitchfest! Good fuckin' lord people... act your ages... or are your really 11 and 12??
I'm outta here! Takin' a break from this place!! I'm sorry I even posted this thread!!

remember ?
she not in because of her naked photo in playboy
but "crazy for you" beat the "we are the world "down on billboard single chart
haha
Yeah ha ha ha! You're right Madonna's song did beat out "We Are The World"... AFTER it was already #1 for four weeks prior. "Crazy For You" only topped the charts for one week.
Chances are that "Crazy For You" probably would have reach #1 on the Billboard charts earlier if not longer if it wasn't for "We Are The World". But since both songs were popular that spring, it played out the way it did.
And as someone else stated before me.... that nude photo in Playboy came out after the song was recorded, released as well as it hitting #1 on the billboard charts!!

Where are all the haters in this thread? Maybe they don't want to admit that they actually like what they hear after so loudly declaring that the song was garbage based on the 20-second clip
Give them time. Not all of them have checked in since it leaked. Also, I suspect the majority of them are probably playing it a zillion times, sucking it up and then bam... all of a sudden it's time to pick it apart. Meanwhile, they are ready for something new, begging/hoping that it will be better.
Mark my words, this song will be sooooo old to them before it even hits the radio!!
-
Oh just looked it up, it's the Hollywood (Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix) song I was referring to earlier. It's probably my favorite Madonna mix from him.
-
That "Justify My Love" performance was fucking awesome. I also love "Like a Wergin". You know she was sick and tired of that song by that point, but leave it to Madonna to find a way to put a new spin to it.
-
The Hollywood remix is killer!
I have to agree. The mix they used for the tour is just great. I know it's one of the remixes on the Maxi, but I forget the title.
As for the question, I really cannot compare. Both are quite different and have produce some great remixes. I really like Stuart because he really was able to take some of her classics on RIT and really work them out to sound amazing. I'm still hoping a full MATERIAL GIRL remix from that era will come out. I doubt it though.
-
With all the talk of using fans, etc. for the video, I do envision some parts of this video will have Dance CLUB setting like scenes in 'Deeper and Deeper' and 'Ray of Light'.
-
Anyone reckon she will do some guest appearances at clubs to promote Celebrate like she did with Hung Up?
I doubt it! If all goes well, this song will be huge by the time she done touring. I have no doubt every country but the U.S. will play this song to death. Let's hope Warners does a big push for this song on U.S. radio. It really deserves a lot of attention. I can see it being just as successful as "Music". In fact, I like it better than "Music" from what I can tell from the DUB. And I love "Music".
-
The question is... will the U.S. get on board with playing this track? I hope they do because this track is too good to pass up... and I'm just judging it by the DUB.
FANTASTIC!!! I can't stop playing it over and over. It's been awhile since I've done that with a Madonna track.
-
I can hear why this is comparable to Holiday. Definitely not a sound a like, but it still has that same vibe. A lot of the beats and sounds give you the old school Madonna feel. I bet the remixes of this song will be kick ass as well.
Can't wait to hear the full original. The word is that the original song will surface by next week.
-
yeah i noticed that too...wonder why...so lame Madonna...it sounds like a dub version
You did read the title of this thread didn't you?? "Dub" is also is included in the body of my post.
-
hardly any vocals!!!
Yep, that's why they call it a DUB. Some vocals, but not completely an instrumental.

Full Oakenfold 12'' DUB

Nope. If "TB" was included, it would mean 5 singles from that album, and there's no room for that. I wouldn't even be surprised if "Open Your Heart" is out as well.
While I understand it's all about making room for other songs, I would say that those five singles were during a time she was really successful. If we're talking about eliminating any of the True Blue songs to make room for less successful songs such as "Bedtime Stories", "Nothing Really Matters" or even "Jump", it's a pretty much a crying shame.
Though, I do believe "Open Your Heart" will be included. I also get the impression that this collection isn't so much about her BIGGEST hits, but more about the songs that fit the theme of "Celebration"... fun party songs where you "dance and get up and do your thing". Though, it's hard to imagine a career retrospective without including songs like "Crazy For You" and "Live To Tell".
-
I'll wait until I see an official tracklisting before putting any faith in what DW has posted. And even so, I could simply guess "True Blue" would be left off considering there are a number of hits she could include instead.
As for the photoshoot... we'll just wait and see. I have a feeling Madonna is interesting in doing something special rather some normal Greatest Hits package.

No, it's because you go on and on when it could've been condensed to 3 or 4 sentences. This isn't an appreciation post, by the way. This is about a 20 second clip. So keep rocking on with your 3 paragraph replies. You act like you're above it all, but it seems to me that you love throwing yourself in the middle of it.
Okay is this short enough for you... "FUCK OFF!!" You don't see me criticizing how many sentences or words you post here!!
*IGNORED*
-
reviews after 19 seconds of play is more than Hard Candy got around here, so things are improving!
-
I saw the first 5 words, and was over it. This guy needs to understand how to condense his words.
And why am I not surprised that an appreciation post for Madonna gets attacked? Pardon me if you haven't the comprehension or patience to read my lengthy response, yet have all the time in the world to read a 32 page thread and respond many times within it.
I'm betting if we added up all your replies in this thread to my very few replies in this thread, I bet you've probably said more than me!! Please do fuck off if you're going to attack me. I'm not here to play these little juvenile shitty games some of you like to play here!!

Dude, when I first heard the Hung Up clip, I went INSANE. It was so good.
Don't call us who don't like the clip non-fans. We adore Madonna. God damn... when is this thing going to leak?!?
It's not a matter of calling people who don't like the clip "non-fans". It's the fact that a number of fans (???) have made up their mind base on a 19 second clip. Not only that, it's usually the same people who bitch about what she is doing anymore. It's like they are never satisfied with what she does which brings to question... "are you a fan anymore??"
Does that mean you weren't a fan or still not a fan just because you don't like it?? No. But if you spend the majority of your time disliking what she does, I would say your appreciation for Madonna is lost.
For me, I've been a fan pretty much since the mid 80's. I love her stuff even before I was a fan, yet have accepted that she's never going to be the same entertainer she was in the 80's, nor the 90's. I will agree that over time, there are songs I dislike of hers, but there still isn't one album I totally dislike. Over all, she's still a great entertainer. I'm still in awe of most of the music she produces no matter who helps her produce it.
I would be a bit more accepting to the criticism of this track if people were hearing the full thing, but the fact is, no one here has heard the full track. I certainly understand if it's not hitting a home run for you, but some have taken a 19 second clip and dissected it and judged it before it's been heard in it's full context. I don't think that is fair.
I really can't say 19 seconds really is enough time to judge if it's "dated" or not my cup of tea. All I can say it sounds promising and I am enjoying the clip so far.
As for the statements/opinions of it being dated... again, I don't think it's fair to make that judgment at this time. However, let's say it does sound dated? What does it matter? There are plenty of great songs I love that sound dated. And honestly, this is for a collection of the past 25 years. Even if it is dated, I would think the song would fit well in the context of the album, don't you think?
In the end, I just find it silly and ridiculous to carry on about the things I dislike when there is so much more to Madonna that I do like. Again, there are a few songs I just can't stand to listen of Madonna's. And the moment that she makes an album full of tracks I can't listen to, I will consider maybe my appreciation for her is no more. But I suspect that since she's produce 25 plus years of music that I've enjoyed, there is hardly a chance of her recording an album I dislike. She's pretty much stayed pretty true to what I've enjoyed all along.
The problem I am seeing more and more as the years go on at a many of these fan forums is that I detest participating in them more and more because the fans are sounding more like (if not worse than) the anti-Madonna fans/forums. It's depressing and I think that is why some fans are annoyed by all these negative comments. It's not that someone has a different or negative opinion of Madonna or her latest track or what not. It's the fact that it's usually the same fans who overwhelming are always negative about everything she does anymore. But for me, she's outlasted most entertainers and have kept me entertained through it all. I know that all good things usually fall. Madonna has many great years of producing great music. But for many entertainers, they cannot sustain the popularity and keep evolving as Madonna has in the past. Eventually, I suspect there will come a time that her ideas and entertainment will not be as interesting as in the past, but that's because like anything...all good things do come to an end. But I feel Madonna has a number of great years still ahead of her. This is why you won't see me carrying on about the things I dislike as much as what I do like.
"Celebrate" may not be her best work, but it does sound like a fun track. And being Madonna is most noted for producing the most fun dance/party music than many other artists, I'd think this track from what I've heard so far seems to fit quite well in the context of the GH's set coming out.
-
Nevertheless, i look forwards to the collection. Hope Cool and Broken are either B sides or iTune extras!
I keep reading this comment from various people, but "B-sides" are pretty much non-existent anymore. Now, we have "Bonus Tracks" to albums which is possible with the digital album copies.
She hasn't had a B-Side side since "Jump" (History) and even with the Confession singles there weren't really proper singles released other than digital. All the hard copies came in Maxi/EP Remix sets.

Generally, at least what I have noticed, straight guys are not die-hard fans of any female singer. It is not that being a Madonna fan is a "gay" thing. Being a male devoted follower of any female singer is considered "gay". Straight males do like female singers and Madonna is certainly one of them. But they generally don't post on forums as much as a female or gay male.
Stereotypically, this may be true, but realistically, it isn't. I will give you that a lot of straight guys may avoid fawning over Madonna or such as a lot of people do here (gay or straight), but there are a lot of straight males who do like female artists to the degree a lot of die hard fans do of Madonna. In the U.S., it's stereotypically the COUNTRY female artists such as Shania Twain, etc. And I also think a lot of straight males are just so uncomfortable admitting the artists they like whether it's a female or male artists unless it's some kick ass edgy group like AC/DC or something in that caliber.
It's a shame that (especially in the U.S.) straight male fans feel they can't express their feelings towards a female artists like gay males. Though, I think this is pretty much restricted to U.S. I don't think Europe puts so much of an emphasis on what is considered "gay" or "straight" music.
It's pretty ridiculous.
-
which one is gay shit song? "Celebrate"?
i think madonna was being fair for her fans - " Celebration" single is for her gay fans and 'REVOLVER' single for her young hip-hop, or straight fans. -
So it's gay vs. straight fans?? Honestly, we have no confirmation other than speculation that REVOLVER is even the other new track. And even so, I guess I'm one fan who doesn't look at her songs as "gay" or "straight". They're just songs... songs I either enjoy or don't enjoy. What I've heard of "Celebration" it sounds promising. And I also really enjoyed the demo leak of "Revolver" (even with the rap) and think if hers is anything like the leaked demo, it will be pretty great.
I just don't understand why people have to label music... especially for straight or gay people? Certainly, I do understand there is an overwhelming general gay fan base for Madonna, but there is also a lot of straight fans who just enjoy her music, no matter how it sounds. I know I do.
"Celebration"- Oakenfold 12'' DUB

You know... it can very well be a dub much like her earlier hit's dubs which pretty much sounded like the original mix, but extended.
I suspect this dub we've heard is pretty close to the original with a little extra!
