  1. Odd how things are changing little by little in terms of what MTribe edits.

That leaves 5 IC untouched in the post- Vogue, LAV, OYH, Borderline, CFY. Why even bother including those, unless it's an issue of run time. "Borderline" must be either the single version or TIC version- the original album version is missing some good sounds that the others have.

I've always thought they "shaped" their news. They will get a little info that may have been true at the time or maybe it was a rumor, but then they will revise it later. I can actually understand a site doing that being they are a fan site and want to keep fans updated. But I've always had issue with how some sites (not just Tribe) which will post "exclusive" to their stories and then some of the fans who frequent these sites think everything they post is always factual. The reason why Tribe is known for their accuracy is not because they post accurate news most of the time it's because they shape their info until they get it right. I have no doubt, they will eventually keep revising that track listing until it's been officially confirmed. Therefore; some of their devoted followers will claim they are ALWAYS accurate.

  2. i am a member there. the Admins and mods basically do not interact with members unless it's to bash us members and remind us stupid and pointless we are. and right now the Admins are going all fuckin apeshit on anyone there who even QUESTIONS the source of the tracklist. I was also threatened with a ban because I mentioned it was childish & immature because as a member, I am forbidden from typing out the madonnalicious.com (it turns into Madonnalicker). you are also forbidden from typing queenmadonna.com (0%.com) or madonnafanzine/drownedmadonna. just simply stupid if you ask me.

funny how I can be banned for mentioning a rival website's name, BUT, when another member was harrassing me and defaming me there, no one gave a shit. their priorties are seriously warped.

Oh good gawd??? Are you serious?? Though, I don't doubt it because I recall when I used to post there, a lot of weird stuff was going on. They had this big war with Drowned Madonna and vice versa. I still sometimes go to Fanzine, but both of those sites really turned me off.

But I don't doubt they have some good sources.

  3. Is the "power" of fans really that big then? Also, doesn't it mean they needed to have the LAP album versions remastered ready, if they could do the change just like this? And makes me wonder if the feedback of "Miles Away" was not as convincing?

As I stated above, I don't believe anything was changed because what fans were complaining. I mean let's rationalize this. We found out about the supposed latest track listing Saturday? Yes, a lot of people questioned "Miles Away" and "Hollywood", but it wasn't until Monday when shit hit the fan when fans saw the track listing with Immaculate Collection version. And even then, it seemed it wasn't until yesterday when people started suggesting in writing to Guy and coming up with a silly petition. There is no way they would have gotten together that quickly and changed the tracklisting.

I think either someone is making all this shit up, or the track listing was never finalized and/or Warner is either saving face or maybe there was no real statement on Warners part about being upset about the track listing leaked.

And if the fan base is that persuasive then why can't they put that same amount of energy in making sure her songs get played on radio and her sales go through the roof?

  4. Wow! Thank you. I will definitely look that up. If I have a hard time finding it, I'll let you know. How is the sound quality?

By the way, I was looking online for the 40 disc Japanese boxed set, but the cheapest price I could find it for was about $1,100. So much for that...lol. I think I will look into just purchasing all of the singles individually on Ebay. It's funny that I have all of Madonna's albums, all of the soundtracks that feature her songs, but only a handful of her singles. I've been a fan of hers since practically the beginning, so it is unfortunate that I didn't buy the singles years ago! Thank God for Ebay!

It's CD quality or equivalent being it was ripped from the CD's. The only one I noticed poor quality was "Who's That Girl" single. There is like a pop or crackle right at the beginning. But then again, that may have been an older version I uploaded to my Itouch.

  5. Oooh! Thanks for the info! This is getting so exciting! I can't wait to find out the official tracklisting as well as the versions being used. I've gotten over being upset over which particular versions of songs will be used and am now just enjoying the ride. I'm still anxious to find out though! Lol.

Well, I really don't know what to believe because Warner could just be BSing us to shut us up. LOL!!But like you, I really don't care because we know it will include almost all of her most influential songs and hits. Anything it doesn't include... I still have the songs. It's just nice to get some of the songs that haven't been remastered yet.

Kinda obvious that they are doing changes considering how big the backlash has been. They have been seriously hurt by the feedback.

I don't buy that. That backlash happened over the late weekend. There is no way they got together that quick to say... "hey, we better change these songs" and I don't believe anything any fan said has give them reason to change the track listing.

  6. Nope, though I sure would dare them to. They might put (1990 Mix) but I doubt it.

You could say GHV2 went overboard with the listings, but some said that was to combat the complaints about TIC. Consumers should know what they're getting, but then too much info like that can be confusing and not really necessary unless they're heavily remixed and significantly different from the originals.

Totally agree! I personally think they should just stick the name of the tracks on there and let the fans just figure out which versions they used. Those people are the only ones who will really care. And even that, most of the versions from TIC and the album versions don't really stray away from the originalit. Also, I don't believe anyone before Madonna ever significantly ever remixed a GH's album like Madonna released IMMACULATE COLLECTION. They just usually included whatever version was popular and left it as that.

  7. Right, but it seems very specific for a tracklisting with all the different versions. I don't think WBR would bother to list all those in a sheet, sounds like someone heard it.

But do you really think the album would actually list the tracks that way... meaning.. "The Immaculate Collection Version"? Like HG pointed out before, I don't believe they would. It's just way too long compared to "LP Edit" or "Remix" or what not.

I think if those versions are accurate, someone knew what versions they were considering and that's how they listed it when sharing. But again, this is all speculation. No one will know until Warners and/or Madonna.com finally confirms the track listing. And honestly, I am not sure if it's really necessary to list the versions used. But that's just my opinion. ;)

  8. Surely some insider at Tribe got hold of an advance promo of the album. They couldn't just pluck that tracklisting out of thin air.

Who said they plucked it out of thin air?? It's just a track listing. Someone could have easily saw the tentative track listing, copied it down and shared it with people? You needn't an "advance promo" of an album to know the track listing.

  9. Be careful! Some on here would have you shot for questioning Mtribe ;)

Been there, done that. Read back a few pages. LOL!! ;)

I'm not convinced, Tribe would not have posted it to piss off Warner, that's not their style.

To clarify... I do not think Tribe posted the list to piss anyone off. I'm sure they have a source they consider very reliable. I think maybe some have misconceived the idea that Tribe posted to piss Warner off, when in actuality, I've heard Warner wasn't very happy the list leaked and stated that it's not finalized.

I guess we'll have to wait and see because I am certainly not the type to believe much until I actually see it for myself. Warner could very well just be downplaying the leak, to ward off the criticisms. Or it might just be possible, the list that leak was not actually finalized.

uhm... where'd you get this? if there are still changes being made up to this time, this will not be released on September 29... or even September 25 in some countries...

How do you figure? It's still more than a month a way. In fact, the track listing could be finalized today, but at the time of the leak, the list was what was being kicked around for sometime already.

  10. UPDATE... I've been just informed from a Warner Bros. source that the track listing that Madonnatribe has reported... is only 90% correct, and it is NOT finalized as a few changes are being made. The tracking list Tribe is reporting is what stands so far, yet isn't locked in place. I asked about the versions on the album being used, but have not gotten a reply back on that. I will post it as soon as I do.

  11. It's still being discussed because neutrorocks doesn't recall there ever being any announcement about DADay being included on AL back when it was first released....blame him ;)

Thanks for the proof, though, HG! I knew I wasn't insane

No need to blame me for anything. I was unaware she stated that at the time. I either never heard of the interview or had totally forgotten. It happens! We all can't remember every thing or be aware of every detail of her career even though we think we do. ;)

  12. ITG surely can't be the YCD version, as that would be too long?

And, speaking of the Q sound- would WB bother having that altered? If so, would they sound notably different? I mean, they supposedly are being remastered and such.

I'm listening to TIC right now. Enjoying it as much as I always have. :)

And, I doubt it would label anything "IC version" - would take up too much space.

Good points like usual. I still think it's pre-mature to get all upset about the versions being reported so far. The track listing doesn't seem at all far fetched and even if it was wrong, I imagine it would just be a matter of a few tracks. But I can't imagine the labeling as you stated would be "Immaculate Collection Version". If anything, some insider knew it were those versions and wrote it down, or someone is yanking our chain. Doesn't mean they won't use those versions, but I am not sure they would list them as "Immaculate Collection Version". Like you said... it would take up too much space.

  13. That torrent is missing the rarer single mixes and seems to be based on everything that's been released on CD single. Useful for those who don't have everything, though.

Yes... every CD/Maxi single commercially released is in that torrent... 943 files (which includes jpgs of the covers, inserts, and back covers.) I've seen torrents of her promos as well, but I am not sure if they are around anymore.

  14. Why thank you! All of this info is very helpful! I know that my partner is familiar with torrents, so I will ask him to help me out.

No problem. In fact, if you like I can give a link to the exact torrent if you need be. It's like nearly 4 GBs. So it may take sometime to download depending on the speed of your computer as well as who is seeding/leeching. Madonna- Complete CD Single Discography is the title of the torrent. It includes every single SINGLE released in every format as well as every version made available as a single... including the MAXI singles... up to JUMP.

  15. Okay, much of this is pretty much known, but it does give a few more details about the whole project:

All Madonna's hits together! September 25 will be the day of the release of the ultimate Greatest Hits Collection "Celebration". The songs have all been remastered and selected by Madonna and her fans. The album is the ultimate collection of Madonna's career including 'Express Yourself', 'Vogue' and '4 Minutes'.

"Celebration" will be released as a 1-CD and 2-CD and 2-DVD. All three versions contain the new single Celebration that entered at number 1 in the airplay charts.

  16. But when Madonna announced that it was going to be on her next album, it had yet to reach the Top 10, so it couldn't really be a marketing ploy, could it?

I don't recall any announcement. If I recall, the single was released late October of 2002. It became a top ten in many markets before the close of the year. AMERICAN LIFE did not get released until 6 months later. Madonna may have mentioned closer to the album release the song would be on her latest album, but I don't think any mention of it when it was a top ten nearly 5 months prior.

  17. neutrorocks, seriously, I have a lot of respect for you and I feel sorry for you when people gang up on you all the time, but Madonnatribe is renowned for posting only the most accurate of information on their news page. They have very reliable contacts within Madonna's camp and go to great lengths to ensure that people do not share leaks or even request leaked material on their forums so that they stay on good terms with their contacts. They refuse to allow ICON material that's limited to members only on their site because they support the right to subscribers to have sole access to this material. They hear the news well in advance of the rest of us, but they sit on it until they're given the green light to post it. If the info that they've posted about the track list and the versions used isn't correct, then it will be the first time that they've made a mistake like this and their credibility will be seriously damaged. They've worked hard to build an excellent reputation and they're not going to jeopardise it or their contacts by posting info that they're not completely sure about.

Of course, you have the right to await official confirmation from Madonna.com, but you're not going to appease your detractors by continually commenting on the lack of official sources cited by Madonnatribe. They're *always* first to reveal new track lists, set lists etc. and there's no reason to believe why this isn't the case this time around. I hope everyone will stop pouncing on you over this, but I also hope that you'll see the logic behind keeping quiet over it until you're satisfied about its authenticity.....

What I've learned is that people don't read what others post. They just interpret it the way they like and run with it, over-exaggerate and gang up on people to the point that they start threads attacking them in "The Lounge". Yes, I questioned if it's 'official', but not once did I say Madonnatribe ISN'T known for posting inaccurate info. I simply asked where is the official confirmation? That is all! This isn't a contest between fansites. Madonnatribe may be known for accurate info over the years. Hell, I don't doubt they are wrong about this either, but it isn't "official" unless there is some official source tied to it or a confirmation to back it up.

  18. That is true. Nothing has been confirmed yet, so I can still hold out hope! You are right that it is impossible to please everyone. I guess I should just go with the flow and just enjoy what comes our way regarding this collection. I can always do some tweaking with the tracklisting and I'm definitely going to make a 3rd disc too! Regardless of the outcome of any mixes or versions of songs used, I'm still going to buy a copy for sure!

By the way, I hope you don't mind that I chose to quote your posts! I've been a lurker for a couple of weeks and have seen that you're a diehard fan and very knowledgable and I like your style! :)

Thank you. I actually appreciate that you quoted me and wanted to discuss this in the manner you have. It's a breath of fresh air to know to see that some fans are willing to discuss things without getting unruly.

I think all any of us can do is just sit back and try to enjoy it. No amount of complaining is really going to change anything. It sounds like if this is indeed the set list, it's probably already pressed and all. ;)

And yes, if you're familiar with torrents, you'll be amazed at what you can acquire. That's how I got her complete single discography... well, up to "JUMP". I believe this torrent has been passed around before HARD CANDY was released. It also includes all the b-sides.

  19. I agree with you about making our own compilations, but the only problem is that it is very difficult to obtain most of the single versions of Madonna's hits. For example, how would I get my hands on the single versions of Causing A Commotion or Keep It Together? I know that these songs aren't on the compilation, but I've been dying to get my hands on those...lol.

Aren't the maxi-singles still available for sale? And if I wanted them that bad, there are a fair good of file sharing programs can get you those mixes. I know I downloaded her complete single discography earlier this year which included both single versions you speak of. I have the physical copies of all these singles, but it just seemed easier to download this bunch at once rather going through all my CD's and converting them.

  20. Oh being rude/nasty has zero to do with why you're a problem here. I can't make it any clearer for you. And the playing favorites comment is nonsense. I suggest you drop the innocent act and own up to the fact that you badger and irritate people. And no, I will not discuss anything with you via PM. When there's a problem I'm happy to finish it here. You PM'd me last time when I brought up your name publically because you had a problem with the way it was used. I am not your babysitter. Be an adult and we won't have a problem. Good day.

No, I've done nothing wrong. And you continuing it here after I kindly requested to take this to pm, only concludes what I thought all along regarding you being mod here. You're simply looking for a public stoning/fight! I pm'd you privately about the other issue and you mishandled it and you're doing the same here! I suggest you just pm me from this point on. That's the fair thing to do rather than dragging it out anymore in this thread. All other responses will go ignored! Thank you kindly!!

  21. I see what you are saying, but I think you may be underestimating just how many of her fans detest the Immaculate Collection versions of the songs. I have been a huge Madonna fan since practically day 1 and I can not stand to listen to The Immaculate Collection because of those horrible versions! I was not expecting new mixes of the songs for this collection, but I was hoping for the proper single versions of all of the songs as most fans were, from what I've seen online. I think that a large majority of people buying this new collection will be die hard fans and it seems that alot of us are going to be disappointed!

Or we could say, you are "over" estimating how much fans detest it. Either way, it's just subjective in the end. But I do understand your aversion to it being you do not like the mixes. I have no issue with that.

As for being "disappointed", I personally find it silly since nothing has been officially confirmed. And even so, it's clear some fans will never be happy. It's impossible to please all fans. Some songs will be left off while other songs that don't seem like they belong will be among it. And in this age, the GH's is pretty obsolete since we can pretty much assemble our own hits CD. ;)

  22. Whoopiedoo and Cosmic System, I love you guys, but you guys were being a tad nasty to Neut - cool it. Neither of you have ever done anything wrong before, don't become troublemakers because I don't wanna have to lay down the law on you guys like Judge Judy.

Neutrocks however, you are no angel yourself. In fact you are on way thinner ice than Whoopie and Cosmic. I've gotten about a million complaints about you since you started posting here, and out of laziness and indifference I never did anything about it (because before now I really just found you slightly annoying, but not really a troublemaker). But more and more your behavior is starting to become disruptive and outright bizarre to tell you the truth. Everybody understood the first time you expressed skepticism about... whatever it was you were pissed about. The tracklist. Fine. WE GOT IT. The fact that you had to smugly poke and provoke anyone and everyone who decided to express dissastisfaction (or satisfaction even) about the tracklist and its nooks and crannies is RIDICULOUS. This is the last time I'm coming in here to see what you've been up to. I don't wanna have to babysit a thread I don't give a fuck about. Either you clean up your act or I will happily clean it up for you. Thanks.

Sorry, but I've never been vulgar and disrespectful. Next time pm when you have a valid complaint about me, because other than sticking to my guns about certain topics, I've never been rude or nasty to people. Other than that, I will assume you're just playing favorites here. Surprise Surprise. If you have a follow up, please just pm me. I would agree it needn't to go any further here. Thanks!!

By the way, Whoopie and me are cool now. ;)

  23. Ah. I see. Thought cause it was soundtrack-related it wasn't necessarily meant for the album.

At the time I was annoyed DAD was on the album, I don't like when she repeats things. I wanted it to be all new material! :chuckle:

American Life is still considered the lead-off single though, right?

I guess it depends how one looks at it. But I don't recall DAD having mentioned it was a single for the FORTHCOMING album like "Live To Tell" was for True Blue. Then again, "DAD" was released far more in advance to the release of AL than "LIVE TO TELL" to True Blue.

Also, I just think of DAD's inclusion as a marketing ploy to get people to buy the album which included a top ten hit already.
