All I have to say... is that there are too many people in this world who enjoy being negative and hope/watch people fail.
I wish them all success. If they don't do well, I am sure it won't be the end of their careers. They are too prominent in the music business. Older artists tend to sell less anyway, so it's not surprising they won't sell like back in their hey day.

Can't wait to see the video in full. I know that I won't be disappointed because I'll just enjoy it, rather over analyze it and compare it to everything under the sun. That isn't why I became a fan. I just appreciate the fact, she's still doing her thing.

Seriously, what happened? I was watching some videos on youtube from The Virgin Tour a few weeks ago and she was such a natural dancer - so full of energy vitality and style. Now, its a hot mess every time she moves without the help of a choreographer. I miss her energetic spins also... can't remember the last time she did a triple spin... or even double. I think Tracey has a lot to do with it - that bitch and her aerobic/pseudo-dance routines. That leg up move she does in that clip is totally a Tracey-move.
Why are you here? I've yet to read one positive thing from you regarding Madonna? I don't mind difference of opinions. Hell, you're free to say what you like here. I am not saying you are not, but I just don't understand why you are even part of a community that is about appreciating Madonna when all you do is put her down? Maybe you were a fan sometime back, but I just feel like you're only here to just rile up people who enjoy her and not dissect and piss and moan about everything she does.

Sept 13th, but i think that was mentioned several times in this thread.

"I want To know What Love is" is a remake of Foreigner. Doesn't sound too bad, but I have to hear the full song.

MTV Video awards show has lost it's edge. I think a lot of it is due to the fact, videos aren't even played on the channel, but a few hours in the wee wee hours of the morning. It's almost a joke to have award's show on that channel when they don't feature videos for a good part of the day. And the shows are contrived now. Back in the day, it was almost like you never knew what was going to happen. It's true... when Madonna comes on, you never know what's going to happen.
I think she should do it though. It could help promote her new song. She really needs the exposure. But I am not sure she'll have time to prepare for something being she's just getting off tour and I suspect she has plans to just chill.

Darling why do you think I've been so quiet lately? I'm enjoying my MADONNA to myself. Coming to this place these days just ruins the JOY.
I have to agree. It's like 90% of the posts these days are from people making silly ass'd complaints. Honestly, complaining about a DVD that is pretty much complete is ridiculous when the videos omitted are found on the previous DVD video collections aside to "Everybody", "Dress You Up", "American Life", and "Dear Jessie". I wouldn't mind having the original version on DVD of "American Life", but oh well. I have it among my digital collection anyway as well as the others that were omitted.
I cant' fucking wait for all this is released. And I doubt it will happen, but I am just hoping there is going to be some "extras" which are not mentioned.
-
from the clips i think we can confirm its gonna be one shitty ass video sorry but watching a bunch of fat gay blokes dancing around with feather boas is hardly gonna sell a greatest hits to the mass market. fucking hell.
I wouldn't expect you to think any different!!

is it true theres a really steamy scene in the video where madonna undresses jesus?
I am not sure if it's "steamy", but there is mention she undresses him, but it may simply be her taking off a few layers of clothing. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Sounds like a wild video!!
-
I hope you are right.
I hope I am too, but in the end, I don't really care. I'll enjoy it either way. I don't pop a blood vessel simply because Madonna doesn't do it my way. If I want it "my way", I hear that's what Burger King is for.

Oh god, the chart brigade is here to make me feel guilty now I don't like the album version. It sucks. I prefer the remix. Hence I'd like the remix to be in the video. It's a perference thing.
It's an awkward version to release to the masses. Also, it's missing a verse. I don't think it should be used. I hope it's not. But yeah, you're welcome to not like the album version and state your opinion. But I suspect you're going to be greatly disappointed because I have a feeling the album version is being used.

*headache strengthens*
I figured that is what they did... They played a different version to keep the original more under wraps. And the more I listen to the Benny version, I am not as impressed. I prefer Oakenfold's remix.

It's great! Really makes me want to dance. I only wish it was M herself doing those dance moves, she still has the energy & flexibility, so what gives?
It's a teaser. Doesn't even mean it's really part of the video. It may be an uncompleted scene. And I suspect Madonna will be doing some moves as well.

Lovin' it so far. Far more entertaining will be the fans bitching, moaning and heavily dissecting it. For gawd sakes, just chill and enjoy.

I love her Erotica album and obviously you do too
To have one track represented and those fillers (Everybody, Burning Up, etc.) added is a crime.
This whole GH is one big mess. I would wait for it in the bargain bin or get it as a gift.
I would spend my money on better things.
I don't see it as "one big mess". I understand your point about "Deeper and Deeper" may have been a bigger hit in terms to the first two singles, but those first two singles were never included on any of her GH's. So here is the chance. If we're going to nix anything, it should be "Miles Away" for "Rain" if we're talking about adding another track from Erotica.
And while chart wise those two old tracks may have not scored very well, both have become huge classics from her catalog. "Everybody" started it all for her and while it may not been a huge radio song at the time, it was a huge club hit. I do feel that it's essential to include this song for sure. And I think we all felt it was a given to include it on a set like this. At the same time, "Burning Up" was a complete surprise for me.
But of course, this is providing the latest track list is accurate.

I can't see many people buying the single. I think most would pay that little bit more for the 18 more songs.
Well, I wonder which stores will stock more of... the 2 CD set or 1 CD set. I suspect the 1 CD set could be the top seller for people just wanting some of her best hits on one album. I also can see some people just being confused with both sets being available. Of course, fans are well aware the difference, but some people may not care to differentiate between the two. I suspect Madonna and company are hoping to cover all basis here to appeal to the casual fans who don't own all her songs and wish to pick either collection.
But of course, being a huge fan I can see why we would rather spend the extra few dollars for the 2 CD set.

i think madonna doesnt wanna do any promos cuz she probably doesnt wanna get asked certain questions
-the divorce
-jesus
-her new face
-mercy
-lack of inspiration in her music lately, oops thats my question i would ask her
Ridiculous, but even so, she can simply stick to the music.

It's not wrong for someone not to like the song. It ain't exactly the next Like A Prayer.
You bet there are a many who dislike Like A Prayer. But I think the point is... Madonna's always been givin' shit with the press. They were all over her in 1989 (and before) with negative reviews and it's really no different now, other than they are far more intrusive and personal. Back in the day, most reviews of her were professional and NOT full of snide juvenile remarks. Not that it didn't happen, but not to the extreme it is today.

Anna said she was going to do a brand new photoshoot to promote the album this month.
Really, how is a freakin' photo shoot promotion for the single or album?? She needs to get out there and either promote it or/and do the rounds on the radio station like she did with "4 Minutes". She no longer can just release a song and video and let it rise on it's own. She has to do more leg work... promote it with appearances... especially musical appearances.
-
Can't wait!! I hope Warners and Madonna does a push for the song.

I remember 16 years ago The Sun printed a scathing review of The Girlie Show opening night in London. They basically said she was over......
And boy they were wrong. Weren't they?
Really, how come these kind of "articles" are even allowed to be published?Freedom of speech. It may not be something we like to hear from some people. And I agree, there is far too much negativity in the press, but it sells papers unfortunately.

I'm lovin' what I am seeing so far. It's all about having fun.. wig and all.

Madonna, Mariah Carey, & Whitney Houston: Why Queens of Pop Will Flop

Most older artists don't. If you look back at some of the big entertainers from all genres... Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Elton John, Cher, Blondie, Loretta Lynn and I'm sure sleuth of others I can't think of off hand, have all had huge success into their 40's. Some of them managed to score a few hits even longer, but the fact is that they never really have the same impact and success then that era they were most popular.
Too many people are too hung up about her being successful wherever, when they should just realize she's never going to be the global phenomenon she once was. Certainly, Madonna is one of the few who still makes a dent in current pop culture, but fans need to get over being disappointed, etc. Just enjoy it. She's made some great music this last decade. She toured more times than any other decade. Even more, she's personally done more promotion for all her music than she ever did when she was in her prime.
I have no doubt Madonna will prove that she isn't going to let radio or anyone brush her aside because of her age, but the fact is they will. She will do what it takes to remain in the ranks, but it will never be like before. I've accepted that and now it's just great to see what she will come up with next. It's not like she's going anywhere just right yet. She'll still make music. She'll give us plenty to enjoy and yes, plenty of music some people will always critique. Me... I'm just going to enjoy it as long as she's willing. She's entertained me much longer than any other artist, so I have no doubt she won't let me down even if I may not like of her directions in music from time to time. Though, I usually am able to enjoy something from each project she releases.
