thanx for the scans neutrocks...they are sublime.
They are indeed awesome. Definitely a "must have" for die hard fans. And you're welcome.
-
Of course another great fun version of the video. I enjoyed it. I guess that's the intention. Lourdes was great and looks like the fans had fun. Nothing else needs to be said.

*GAY COMA*
I Need That Poster! (The BIG One Of Her Face)
I know. I saw that poster and thought... hell, I've got to have it!!
Here's the poster in the 1 CD format:
and here's just 2 pages of the booklet in the 2 CD set:
-
This is part of the 1 CD booklet. I do believe the 1 CD booklet unfolds out to the poster as seen above. The 2 CD booklet is much more extensive.
Okay, so I've decided I'm buying both the 1 CD and 2 CD formats after seeing the artwork. I know it may sound silly, but I've invested over 25 years
in this woman, and I feel the need to splurge on this. The fact both formats have different artwork and posters is an added plus to this. This is definitely
a collection that's worth owning. And most definitely, I'll be picking up the DVD set on this as well. Though, I'm pretty sure I am passing on buying the digital
collection. I just feel the only reason I would be doing it is for the one new song which I am sure I'll find somewhere. And the video collection isn't complete
with the digital deluxe version vs. the DVD.
So who is going to buy both physical formats? Who is going to buy all the formats? I'm sure if enough fans who do this, it's possible this collection could
hit #1. We'll just have to wait and see.
Here's the poster that comes with the 2 CD set. The 1 CD set has the same image but it's the black and white version.

Again, I just don't understand why these women (or anyone for the matter) took it the way they did. It really made me feel that they only listened to the first 30 seconds and nothing else. Because if they did, they would have seen exactly what Latoya was saying... "Madonna was drawing parallels between her brother and her". And it only makes sense that she did, but for Joy to say as if it "went on forever" is just ridiculous and unfair. I'm quite disappointed with her to think that since I've had some respect for Joy and would think she wouldn't just judge this on the first 30 seconds when so much more was said and if heard in full, the first 30 seconds would have made more sense to them.
Good for Latoya, even though I think she tries to paint everything as if it is "beautiful and glorious". But of course, if there is one thing you can count on from the Jackson camp these days is they stick together and do not sabotage their siblings. No doubt Latoya had her moment of doing so, and I think she also is the one who seizes any chance to get attention. But I think she's probably more settled in not bashing anyone from her family.

the demo is alot better I think they took a song that could have been a hit with the radio and made it into just another pop song. If I hadn't heard the demo I would have thought that it was a good song but since the demo leaked it makes this version seem weak. They should have kept the rest of lil wayne's verse which was the best part
My love is a revolver. Do you want to be my target.
Cuz I’m a sharp shooter. Matter of fact im tha sharpest.
My aim is so flawless, girl you can be the farthest.
Ima still shoot my love, let me know that you caught it.
Im the trigger man, I pull it. I will when he wouldn’t.
Do you want to eat the bullet? And I know where to put it.
Its weezy. F baby. Im shooting like the army.
Girl I should be illegal. Better put the safety on me.
This entire part was cut. You can really hear a boost in energy from Wayne in this part and this is what makes the verse. I will even go as far as saying that without the part the track goes from one of the better lil wayne features to just another pop song featuring Lil Wayne. Also the song is to short and there is to much of the hook which gets annoying
Hey, don't count the verse out just yet. It's possible the extra versus can turn up in mixes.

I want REMIXES.
Oh, i thought the same when first listening to these. The remixes could be SUPER HOT!!!
I am loving this song more and more with every listening. I am not even going to say it's going to be a "big hit" because without radio support and much promotion, it won't get much recognition unless it's a fluke. I hope that I am wrong because I do think this could be a killer song on the radio.
-
You've got that wrong for a start. I loved Hard Candy and still rave about GI2M, both song and video and think it's her best album from the last ten years.
As for the 2 songs on Celebration, I think when the album has been and gone, people will look back and say they weren't her greatest songs by a long stretch. I'm used to people on here thinking they have to like everything when it's first released to be a 'true fan'. I'm old enough to know it's fine for me to not like something of hers but I can still remain a true blue fan. 25 years and counting.
Unfortunately, like so many forums, many people don't like to hear opinions that are different to their own. So much for freedom of speech and tolerance of others.
Funny thing, I agree with that (in bold), but I have no issue with your differing opinion. My issue is everything I read from you, regarding her seems ALWAYS negative. Some of it's not even opinion. It's just bagging on her. If you have an opinion why you don't like it, share it, but it just seems everything I read from you regarding Madonna is negative. If I am wrong about you losing your appreciation for her, good to hear.
I am not saying these two new songs are greatest things she's done and I suspect most people will agree with that. But I do feel some just are so critical about anything she does, they seem to lack the appreciation of just enjoying that she's still here, making music, etc. Surely, not every song will be a winner even with Madonna fans.
On that note, I do like "Revolver" much better than "Celebration". Why? Because it's not exactly what you expect from a Madonna song? She's willing to branch out and accept someone elses work and put her stamp on it. All in all, I just try to enjoy it because one day, it could be all over. No one wants that, but it will come. And the fact, she's been at this nearly 30 years, I say that she really hasn't much to prove anymore, nor do I expect everything she does will be accepted by everyone or be a hit.
-
So, speaking as someone who only heard the original demo once, months ago, how is it different (aside from the vocals obviously)? How did she get that (rumoured) writing credit?
Key word is "rumored". Doesn't mean she actually got any credit for it. And if she does, I don't know why?
-
Honestly, if that had been sung by Rhianna or similar, I would ignore it. It's just generic pop. Pleasant enough but, like Celebration, catchy but ultimately disposable pop.
Okay, I am convinced you just don't like anything she does anymore. Everything she does, you are always negative and disappointed with. Maybe it's time to move on buddy!!!
-
DAMN, This is hot!!! Thanks!!
-
Whatever....she didn't get lost in any shuffle. The bitch was wack. End of
Deal with it.
LOL! There isn't nothing to "deal with" dude. While Madonna may be getting some press, it's nothing to the level Kayne West, Beyonce and Taylor Swift is getting.
You tend to enjoy tossing the smart ass remarks, but if you're going to pull that shit on me, I'm done discussing this with you.
Their level? They sit and talk about people who are DOING.
Okay, I misworded. I didn't mean it in that sense. I just feel that these gals are quite outspoken. Whoopie and Madonna have had some big big moments in the 80's and 90's. I just think of these three more like friendly colleagues. I am a little annoyed Whoopie dissed her if that's what she did. I like Whoopie and she's has had a number of controversial moments in her career. I just expected a little more compassion and respect from her. She's always seem to have pretty decent common sense.
This whole MJ thing hits home for her... and I think she was trying to make a case for people being nicer to her, too. Better than acting like they were so close or sounding like a typical MJ "Artist Of All Millenium" lead-in.
I actually kinda felt the same. Not sure if she was intentionally aiming for that, but I think at least subconsciously, I can see her doing this.
-
"The View" ladies were fucking bitchy about Madonna. They completely made fun of her, acting like her whole speech was about bringing the attention back onto her instead of MJ. Of course Joy added she looked beautiful but had to say a snarky comment about plastic surgery. Whoopie said Madonna sounded "silly". You can tell Whoopie does NOT like Madonna.
Then that cunt Kate Gosselin had to add in her 2 snarky cents.
I swear, Madonna cannot do ANYTHING without people finding some huge fault with it.
I was unaware of this when I posted my above response. But it just proves my point, how some focus so much on the "negativity", rather the good. I mean; why tear her speech apart when the whole intent was to pay tribute to a legend in music? Seriously, is this all they can talk about?
I don't watch the VIEW, but I respect that they have a voice. I don't have to agree with them, but it's quite disappointing to hear these women tear Madonna apart as if she's done something wrong?? I mean; we have Whoopie and Joy who are pretty much around the same age as Madonna. They all have made a career of being controversial and saying things that got a lot of attention. You'd think they just respect the fact someone on their level (Madonna) has taken the time out to just pay tribute to a legend in music, rather dissect it into some "ego driven" speech all about her. It wasn't. It was about her experience with Michael. How else do these people want her to approach it? It's not like Madonna pretended the two were best pals. She didn't sugar coat it, yet she got up on stage and pretty much respectably gave her perspective and shared her experience she had with Jackson.

I thought all of the press coverage today, was supposed to be about Lady Gaga, and her star making performance last night? At least that's what her loon base kept going on and on about.
Thank you Kanye, Madonna, and Janet for sparing us that.
You realize, that Madonna is hardly a mention, other than among the Madonna base. The same goes for Janet. Kayne is the big story here. And why? Because as usual, negativity prevails. People prefer to talk about the negativity than focus on the good. Granted, Beyonce came out as the hero and Miss Taylor graciously got her acceptance speech, but the fact it's based on something negative that happened, it's a story.
Yet, we have Lady Ga Ga who just did her thing and did a smashing job at it, and it definitely has gotten lost in the shuffle since what's a better story than showing up with ridiculous costumes when you have some asshole who steals a mic from a 17 year old when she makes her very first acceptance speech at the VMA's and a 3 month long tribute to some creepy accused pedophile.
Honestly, I don't mean the above as disrespect, but I am just putting it in perspect here. People love to concentrate on the negativity and the only attention GA GA is getting is by few who want to rip her to shreds because of her silly outfits when it's really not surprising that she showed up that way. It's part of her act.
-
Madonna hasn't appeared on TV yet. We're talking about the pre show. If someone looks like a fucking asshat, people are going to talk about it. Would it be any different if I was talking about Taylor Swift or Leighton Meester? No. We can talk about whatever we want. Okayalrightgoodbyethankyou.
Funny you chose me to quote when many people before and after me were much more blunt about getting back on topic. And my point was that some people just can't help to bag other artists, rather stick to the discussion regarding Madonna.
What do you do around here again?
Anyway, Madonna looked HOT!! Her speech was awesome!!
-
AND LET'S TALK ABOUT MADONNA!!!!!
It's impossible. Some Madonna fans prefer to bash other artists. Many have forgotten that Madonna has been criticize for her "ridiculous" outfits and performances, etc., throughout her career.
-
she looks ridiculous!
and you all know it!
Of course she does, but I don't look at it as a negative thing. She stands out. It's part of her act. It's not like we're surprised at the fact she's dressed like that. She's been doing it since she came on the scene. It's all part of the act. Just like acting like Kermit is a real live frog that talks, etc. Just enjoy it! That's what entertainment is about... enjoying it.
-
GaGa looks fab
I agree. All the people bagging on her just doesn't "get it"!! It's all about a persona she's playing. Just like all the previous acts (especially in the 80's), who wore wild outfits and did outrageous things, it's all part of the show.
-
Well, you can also say that MTV abandoned Madonna in the 90's as well. As a matter of fact, they abandoned all music artists cuz they completely stopped playing all music.
As far as tonight's show goes, my understanding is that the MJ tribute will only be at the beginning. I don't think it will be scattered throughout the show. I'm sure people will mention him in their speeches though. But as far as the tribute goes, it sounds like it's only at the beginning of the show. The whole show isn't dedicated to him, just the first performance.
Don't disagree with anything you said really. I agree how they have abandoned the whole concept of their channel for "Reality" shows.
And i hope you're right that it's just a portion of the show, but I have sneaky suspicion it's going to be just more than the beginning.
-
i doubt it. it's gonna be all about MJ.
Yep. They are going ram Michael Jackson down our throat all through this show. And while, I don't object MTV paying tribute to him because like Madonna, he helped paved the way for their channel.
I still would love to see Madonna perform something of her own, rather just doing a speech and/or tribute of some sort. I mean MTV really abandoned Jackson in the 90's, so it's just odd now they are going to kiss up to his legacy now that he's past on while all the other artists who have been honored will be playing second fiddle to all this. I feel bad for many of the artists who are supposed to be honored as well. On the other hand, what a better way for these people to get exposure by appearing on the show dedicated to Michael Jackson. I am sure this will be one of the most watched MTV awards shows in many years.

I don't really care what Mtribe said in the past, present or future to make them a reliable source or not. I never said they weren't reliable. I just said they aren't always accurate, nor are they an official source, but some prefer to enjoy twisting words. For me, it's not a contest of websites. I think some people are so far up Tribes ass as much as they are up Fanzines/DM. In the end, it doesn't matter. All the sites are known to post info that have come true. Who said it first? I could give a flying fuck. But all sites (including Tribe) always posts info that isn't always accurate, yet may shape their info until it's accurate. I've seen it done over the years with all the popular fan sites.
The only site that I've notice that doesn't usually post anything until it's confirmed, it's Madonnalicious. They play it safe. Not only that, I appreciate their reporting of events because it's not about getting the "exclusive" first. It's about informing the Madonna fan without leading them on for weeks on end. Those sites are the reason we have threads that go on for pages and pages, speculating because one site will divulge something they've heard which is basically hearsay. I don't doubt there isn't some accuracy in what is posted, but that doesn't mean they are an "official source" or always accurate.

I like it because it's pretty wicked and different from her usual stuff. Of course, it's not her best song. But it's just fun and enjoyable.
I do think this has more potential to be a bigger hit on radio in the U.S. than "Celebration". Now the question is if they service it to radio, promote it and radio is willing to play it? I doubt it. But I hope they do so.
