  1. The title of this thread couldn't be more fitting. :inlove: She looks incredible. Too bad the Daily Mail has to take swipes at her for wearing finglerless gloves saying she's only wearing them to cover up her wrinkles. grrr...

Daily Mail is the Daily Mail. I think what is sadder is the fans who actually think she gives two shits to the wind what people think and that is why she's wearing the gloves... as if she's wearing them because her fans has given her some sort of complex about it. Puhleeeeese!! In fact, I'm betting in person it's not as bad as the photographs and people are making it. In any event, I could care less. I think she looks stunning... especially in these latest pics.

  2. This is a woman that prior to the dreadful books was a true leader in the pop world, a sluttly, risk taking genius then she (for a while) turned into a wimpering middle aged twat. no need.

Ridiculously extreme. She was evolving into a more reserved woman at the time of these books and motherhood was the reason behind this. I also feel like she was trying to prove that she could write something respectable for children when everyone has this "slutty, leader in the pop world" label tied to her. To say this wasn't a "risk" on her part is wrong. She certainly took a risk in doing this since the only book she did before this was a book full of nudity and sexual fantasies.

As for the topic at hand... I don't really find anything that appalling from her that I would change. Even she doesn't really regret her past, so why should we sit here and dissect what we think went wrong when in the end, she's still as successful as ever and those films, books or whatever other endeavors some don't like she's done, has basically allowed her to explore other genres and other art forms. I see nothing embarrassing about her children books. And obviously, they aren't that embarrassing because they are still quite popular.

  3. She's definitely smartened herself up since the divorce - no more parkas and track suits.

I was reminded of her in the mid-90s the other day when that Paloma Faith said she didn't own a pair of jeans - Madonna said that in an interview when doing the STR promo.

I just think that we don't see her as often (as in the past) just being casual or heading off to the gym. You can bet if she was heading off to the airport or to they gym or something very casual, she'd be wearing something more casual wear. You just wait in the next week or so, she'll just be out and about and she'll be wearing something much more casual. I think she was on a mission here since she was all dolled up. The hair has natural waves and if she's just casually hanging out, you can bet it wouldn't look that good.

  4. Why? Between Confessions and now, there's only been one studio album, Hard Candy. I don't think you should stop being a fan because you don't like one album. Now if someone said I haven't liked any of her music since 1984, then I would say yes maybe it's time to leave and stop complaining.

Nah, if I had that much time between an artist I didn't like their stuff, I would have moved on. Of course, I'd probably have an interest in listening to what is new (if I had been a fan for a long long time before) to see if I can get back into the artist, but if it's the same ol' disappointments, I would just move on. I don't see the point of going somewhere to discuss things you dislike when you can concentrate on the positive things you do like or can actually have a discussion without looking for faults in something someone you do not favor anymore.

  5. Oh, this is getting to become a "contest" of sorts. Isn't it sad that some are at this point in the thread taking pot shots at people and other artists to prove Madonna is far more relevant. Lady Ga Ga has been brought up many times, so I guess it's fair for me to say that as much as I think she is great and yes very talented, Madonna is still the queen here. Why is that? Because she's worked 20 some more years than all the others people compared her to. Maybe Lady Ga Ga will be around just as long and I hope she is. I really do enjoy her work, but even then, she is her own entertainer in her own right. I don't need to bash another artist to prove Madonna is anymore relevant. She obviously is relevant because if not, no one wouldn't be talking about her. Maybe there are aspects of her career which isn't as relevant as the past, but her persona and her music and her status in the entertainment industry is still quite relevant. It's not like Madonna is performing only GREATEST HITS tours. She's performing new work which a lot of people are enjoying. People see her as a great entertainer and touring act. And fortunately, that is where the money is. And while so many are focused on the influence artists have on the youth, what about all those fans who grew up with Madonna? Some were nearly her age if not older when she emerged. I know a lot of the Wannabee fans abandoned her as quick as they celebrated her, but there are a lot of fans out their who still appreciate her. And I can't see why her older fans can't also influence what is considered the youth market?

  6. She's older now. It's as simple as that.

As if that is going to have any "relevance" on how Madonna will continue to do what she does best which is entertaining. The thing is that Madonna isn't the only one who is struggling to get people to buy her records or get on radio. Yes, age plays a factor, but she is bound and determine she's going to be a public entertainer for years to come. The number of people who enjoy her versus 10, 20 or nearly 30 years ago doesn't matter. It shouldn't matter because in the end, she still has a much bigger following and always will. Even when she's dead, she will have a massive fan base. And for that fact, she is relevant. Not only that if someone is talking about someone regarding their relevance, only proves they are far more relevant than they give them credit for.

  7. All that matters is that she's still relevant to me. And the fact is she's such a huge star, she will have a shit load of fans long after some of the newer acts are long gone and forgotten. She isn't just a musician. She's an entertainer. She'll be entertaining millions until the day she drops or decides to just hang it up for good. And I hardly believe Madonna will be hanging it up anytime soon, nor comes off as a person will let public perception of her "relativity" determine if she should stop entertaining.

  8. Whatever you say.

Warner has it, they just dont wanna put out the coins.

If I were Warners, I wouldn't "put out the coins" either. I don't see how it would be financially beneficial for them to pay out for a video which may not help the song gain more sales because that's all they care about. After all, they are a business.

But let's be fair, they have paid out on a lot of promotions. Those billboards are cheap. And there have been a number of teaser videos/commercials with some great art put into them, and no doubt that didn't come cheap.

  9. They are not even doing a video for it, so why even bother with a release?

Do you people want her to flop?

No video doesn't mean the song would flop. There are plenty of hit songs without videos. No fan wants to see her flop, but I do think some fans do not understand the fact that videos DO cost money. Maybe a video could help the song get more exposure, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case for her videos of lately. Though songs do not have to have a video to be a hit on the radio. I'd rather them spend the money getting the song radio exposure rather going all out on a video and the song not going anywhere.

I agree that a cool video could be made with this song, but I just don't see Madonna and Warners spending any cash on a video when they know it most likely will make no difference on radio impact or sales.

  10. I agree the whole write up has a negative twist to it. I believe she was just being factious when making that statement. No doubt, it probably was a tough time, but that comment was simply words in how disappointed she was. Furthermore, I don't believe even the comment regarding Paul McCartney was meant to be harsh. I think she was just pointing out that she isn't the type to pull off a great show (as Paul could) by just standing there, playing guitar, singing songs.

  11. I would love her to release it as it's growing on me but from a musical perspective, I think it adds nothing to her work. However, given just how great and sexy she has looked on recent appearances, if she carried that over to a video and had fun I think the song would do well. I think if she wore the outfit she wore on SNL and had a Barbarella theme, it could be good.

A video just doesn't guarantee her success for a single anymore. After all, "Celebration" had a video and it's not become a huge hit (at least in the states).

As stated before, in the end, her radio days are over. U.S. will always be a lost cause for her with maybe a few possible exceptions. I think '4 Minutes' was one of them. I mean; you couldn't go wrong by including two producers and popular American acts of the time (Timberlake and Timbaland). There is no doubt she would have crossed fan bases with this song, making it more successful. But I am more convinced than ever without including current and fresh acts into her songs, she wouldn't have had a huge hit with '4 Minutes'. And this could very well work with 'Revolver' if given a chance.

Of course, much of what I say goes out the window outside of the U.S. because people internationally aren't so hung up on her age and who is popular marketing brand of the moment.

  12. I concur. This track has more potential than this Lil Wayne shit. She shoulda released it the day Cuntye grabbed the mic from Swift. That'd be a bold move! LOL

Well nothing surprises me anymore. Thank god she decided to leave WB.

Not a "bold move" at all. It wouldn't even make sense to do it at this anyway. And people would surely catch on, that she would be releasing it on the coattails of someone else controversy. Odd that some would approve of that, when many here are so quick to bash other artists which may take up an opportunity to cash in on controversy, etc.

The fact is; radio wouldn't have played it anymore than if they played it now, so releasing it is wasting money and time when the album will not sell anymore based on releasing it.

  13. I think GaGa was supposed to sing first while Madonna was dancing, then Madonna was supposed to sing something, then the fight was to start.

I also think Madonna's microphone wasn't working quite right, because the camera was off her (on Kenan and Andy) but you could almost hear her say, "You are such a little b*tch?!" or something like that, but it was really muffled -- and then the camera went back to her for "What the hell is a disco stick?!"

Gaga clearly sang, "Watch me work, what's wrong Madonna? Can't get into the groove" Then there was a beat (maybe here one might think M was supposed to come in, but ...) Then Gaga came in singing "I guess..." and then Madonna sang "Looks like your wig needs a fix." The backing vocals matched when Madonna sang -- but the backing vocals did NOT match Gaga, so that would make me think Gaga was not on cue somehow. Considering she had two performances to worry about later, I suppose it could be forgiven.

Madonna at least seemed to hold her own, anyway. There were a couple awkward moments, but... she looked great, so, all is forgiven.

I really think it all was intentional, the mess ups, all of it. The whole point was to poke fun at two divas of the day... on older and one quite younger. It makes total sense to have the younger one try to steal the spotlight and fuck up the lines, so the older one can poke back.

I rather not take it too serious as some are here. It's just a silly skit from two great entertainers of our time.

  14. It was cute but not funny. Madonna looked so much better than GAGA. That stupid GAGA messed up her intro so we didn't get to hear Madge, what a dumbass. Anyways, I usually don't mind and sometimes enjoy GAGA but her performances tonight her totally self indulgant and ridiculous. It was one random thing after the next and didn't work at all as a performance IMO.

It was intentional. She was supposed to mess up her line. Didn't you follow the skit? She was trying to one up Madonna.

Anyway, I am not surprised at all the negative and nasty replies here. It's become the norm. Oh well! I know that I enjoyed it.

  15. Neutrocks you started it!!! You are simply looking for trouble that isn't there.

Huh? This thread is 7 pages in. I started nothing! In fact, if you read my posts correctly, I said there wasn't any trouble there. Furthermore, People have already voiced their opinion regarding the animosity they THINK is there. I just shared my two cents that I disagree and yes, I think some people are looking for more trouble BETWEEN Madonna and Ryan than there actually is.

  16. He didn't say it wouldn't be a single - it just won't have a video which as Miles Away proved, means FLOP for Madonna.

Yet the song "Celebration" HAD a video? So your theory is shot there.

I just can't understand why people can't just own up to the fact Madonna isn't going to be the hot commodity like she was in the past with or without videos or constant promotion. I am not saying that a little more effort can't be put into her projects since it is much harder for her to get the exposure she once had, but honestly, I don't see how this really effects you or her fans since we still get the songs, videos, or what not she chooses to do. It's not like she released a video for every freakin' single she did in the past. It's not like she whored her self out, promoting all her albums in the past. In fact, I would think one of her most promoted efforts... "AMERICAN LIFE" got all kinds of treatment regarding great promotion, but it didn't help the album sell any better and it's become her worst selling album (at least in the U.S.).

Again, I don't see Madonna's career down in the tubes. Yes, she isn't going to have the same exposure and success in the past, but as fans, we're not losing much here. If anything, we're getting far more appearances and, touring, etc. than she's done in a long time.

Some people just need to chill and just enjoy her. Be happy, she's still plugging away at it nearly 30 years later.

  17. megalolz at trying to cause trouble :lmao: Maybe some people just have that opinion and that is that? Did you ever consider that?

Read again. That's not what I said, and if you were the one who read more into Seacrest's intentions, you only proved to me that you read far more into things that are intended or said, since misreading what I posted. But whatever! I am used to that here!! Carry on... make this a twenty page drama fest. I won't be part of it.

  18. I agree that some are reading too much into it. I think they both had a nice time during the interview and Ryan clearly understand her level of success and power in the industry. I think people are reading to much into it because he seems to like Mariah a lot and people think that everything associated with Mariah is inherently anti-Madonna.

BINGO. And the fact, some people just enjoy to think the worst of people or make judgment calls, when they haven't the foggiest idea what is really going on. Anyone who came a way from that interview, detecting animosity from those two are simply looking for trouble that isn't there. I think Ryan was simply trying to be a gracious host. Whether he meant what he said about her being "hot" or wanting to date her, I don't care. If I was going to question anything from that interview is how Ryan was overtly trying to impress that he thought she was someone he'd like to get with. But I'm willing to admit that I don't know that for a fact and just speculation.

In the end, the interview served it's purpose.

  19. Enjoyed the interview. Ryan is a great interviewer. Don't understand the animosity for him, but then again, I am not surprised by some of the people carrying on about him. But whatever. Mission accomplished. She went on a very popular national radio program and plugged her GH's. Guess what folks... that's promotion. And on radio, at that. Not that radio will be inclined to play her newer songs, but oh well.
