  1. LOL. You guys are funny. I don't think that anyone can deny the impact that Madonna has had and still has in the music industry. But you do have to admit that when Britney came out she was outselling any other female artist out there. Her songs were very generic but fun to listen to. There wasn't anything behind any of her songs. But she always seem like a nice girl. She never intended or pretended to be the next Madonna. She knew her place and respected Madonna a lot. Let's not forget that she even collaborated with Madonna when at that time Madonna was going through her backlash because of American Life.

  2. I miss the old Britney. I remember when she first come out back in '99. I really thought she was going to be taking Madonna's place as the Queen of Pop and for a few years it seemed like she was destined for it. But then her major breakdown happened and everything began falling apart for her. I'm happy to see that she's doing well. All the medications that she's on have had a major impact on her attitude. Some of the pictures you see of her now a days makes you wonder if she's really all there. I still enjoy some of her music. I hope that her next album is better than her last one.

By the way, I never heard her version of Burning Up. I love it.

  3. Dear Madonna,

Can you call BestBuy and tell them to reimburse me for the money I spend (wasted) on the blue ray dvd for the MDNA Tour since it seems that an immature film this tour and decided to put it on DVD?

    Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, one more thing...can you please get rid of those ugly ass grillz that make you look like you just had shit for breakfast/lunch/dinner. When did you started follower? If I'm not mistaken, Miley beat you to the punch.

    Ok. For now that's all.

    Love you. :brenspin:

  4. First of all I think American Life the album was a masterpiece although I'm not crazy about AL the single specially being released as a 1st single for the album. Second of all, I from the first time that I listen to Intervention, there was something about this song that I completely adore and ever since I still LOVE This song. I think this song is pure perfection. Too bad it never got to see the light of day as single. Nothing Fails is also another great song but I will always be in love with Intervention.

  5. Also its for the poor sods that pay a fortune to see her but dont know half the songs. I was ringing around mates asking if they wanted to go (its expensive for an average fan) they didnt even know she had an album out, hadnt heard it and said they didnt like the last album. Im now going on my own.

My really good friend Neil is really wealthy, but said he only heard GMAYL and Madge has lost the plot and he's not interested.

Its just gone a bit pear shaped this era, we know theres some great songs on the album but no-one else does.

Yes, is very sad to see that she's not putting any effort at all in promoting this work. This album is one of her best one's she done in years, a whole lot better than Hard Candy but the casual fans don't know about it or are just not that interested anymore because GMAYL was not that great of a song. It's hard to justify paying a lot of money to go see an artist who had a hit single over 6 or 8 years ago.

  6. OMG!!! Azteca Stadium is one of the BIGGEST stadiums around the world!!!! :wow:Capacity: 104,000

I was thinking the same thing. If she sells out both dates than it will be amazing...only a few acts have been able to do it as far as I can remember.

  7. What does whether she promotes or not have to do with whether you are willing to pay $300 for a seat on her tour? You are paying that money because you want to see a great show. She is working hard on rehearsing for the tour to give you that. You are not paying for her to promote. Yes, it would have been nice if she had done more promotion for the album. But I really don't see why people get so worked up about her not doing interviews or tv appearances. If she doesn't promote, that may hurt her album sales but that only affects her really. I don't see why so many fans take the lack of promotion as some kind of personal insult.

Ok....Promoting an album can lead to having a hit single(s) and album...when was the last time she had a hit single? I'm not talking about the quality of her music because in my opinion MDNA poops all over other albums that are out there by younger singers. Not everyone that pays over $200 is a die hard fan and if they've never heard anything recently from Madonna on the radio a lot of them will not want to pay that much money. It's like Cindy Lauper or Mariah trying to charge that much money for their concerts where they'll be playing songs you've never heard before.

  8. Because she seems to surround herself with arseholes who will not tell her the God's honest truth about her ideas, plans and decisions. She is surrounded by 'YES' people whose main job is to blow smoke up her rear passage rather than help her to really sell her shit with some degree of intelligence. She is becoming the way Michael Jackson was before his demise - completely out of touch with the real world.

I agree, she's becoming out of touch with the general public not just her fans. I don't think she's as screwed up as Michael was, at least she' not a drug addict, but when it comes to handling her promotion it seems that she doesn't care or doesn't want to be bother by it. She has to remember that she's in her 50's, she should be thankful that she's still relevant because in pop music, everyone has a shelve life and she's very lucky that she's been able to out good music until now but she has to work on promoting it as well. Just because she's Madonna doesn't guarantee it's going to sell anything. Just like at her last movie, although it was limited release it still didn't do that good in the theaters where it open. And now we have this album, which is a great album but nobody is bothering promoting it. But yet she's expecting us to pay at least $300 for a decent seat on her tour?

  9. They are in panic mode.

And they should be. You have to wonder sometimes who's more stupid, the person that gives the bad advise or the person that actually follows it. It doesn't make any sense to release an album and not bother to take some time to promote it. Instead she's spending her time preparing for a tour from an album that's dropping "quicker than a ray of light" sales wise. When was the last time that she actually had a hit single on her own? If you expect to overcharge your fans to see you on tour then shouldn't we expect at least a recent hit single? She can only live off from her past hits from the 80's and 90's for so long before we all get tired of hearing them over and over. She's a great performer, in my opinion she's the BEST but when it comes to promoting she's awful at it.

  10. At 50 year old only Madonna CARES to be a popstar trying to stay current with the music scene. It's not that we have others popstars at her age struggling to keep it up with the young public.

The other "old" pop acts like Cher, Cindy Lauper, Roxette, etc, are living from their past. The radio won't play them because they have nothing current good enough to be played.

Ofcourse she's trying to stay current this is why she's releasing these type of songs. But do you really think that a lot of these younger artist are releasing masterpieces? I mean, come one a lot of the stuff out there is crap with the exception of a few songs, I like Riri and Katy but some of their songs clearly suck but yet they get play all the time. I'm just glad that Bruno Mars is finally beginning to go away.

  11. I have a feeling that even if Madonna released the best song ever radio would still ignore it. :americanlife:

I agree. I think that no matter how good a Madonna song is the radio still going to ignore her music because of her age. She's not within the age category which they want to attract their audience. THis is truly sad. Let's give Katy and RiRi 10 years and see where they are, hell let's see if they're still having hits in their late 30's or even early 40's. Enjoy it girls because it won't last forever, what's benefiting them right now (that they're young) will bite them in the ass later down the road. This is how it's always been regardless of the quality of the music unfortunately.

  12. You guys don't understand how it works. It's -831 spins because it's being compared to last week's numbers. Last weekend was the Clear Channel deal, so she got tons of airplay. That drop signifies the difference between the highest number of spins from last week and the highest number of spins this week. It was to be expected that her drop for this weekend was going to be massive, because the regular airplay that she'd get for this week could not compare to that of the Clear Channel deal. The fact that, up until Friday, she was still showing gains, plus the fact that she's still in the top ten on iTunes (even with Whitney's surge in sales) is good news.

Thank your for this information. I'm just surprise how many idiots and drama queens this forum has. A lot of them are already asking for a 2nd single when this one was just release. Some of you need to chill out. Although this is not my favorite single of hers I still think it's a fun song. Just give it time and stop whining so much.
