    True, but it’s a very important process. If you use a great final mix but you screw the mastering...well, you know how it ends. 

    Mastering requires critical listening; however, software tools exist to facilitate the process. Results still depend upon the intent of the engineer, the accuracy of the speaker monitors, and the listening environment. Mastering engineers may also need to apply corrective equalization and dynamic compression in order to optimise sound translation on all playback systems.

    Actually those shows are the only ones that sound great on CD, and RIT Like A Prayer was AWESOME live with Siedah Garrett on Backing Vocals, it was stripped down, but fantastic live.

    I saw 5 RIT shows (one from the PIT) and 3 Confessions. Thank you very much. 

    That band worked very well for the more electronic songs, but for others..not. The drummer was the worst. RIT Vogue is musically the worst version of the song she did, even S&S was better. And I'm not saying the new band is great, because it's not.

    Let's get real, the Re-Invention/Confessions band was SHIT. Stuart did some pretty great remixes as a musical director, but to me Like A Prayer from RIT still sounds like a karaoke track. Stuart was "ditched" because probably he didn't want to go on as a  Madonna musical director forever, and after Confessions her did other projects. Also he became musical director and producer for the Pet Shop Boys. He also married Angie, Madonna's ex "manager/assistent" and I still believe Madonna didn't like it for some reasons. They both disappeared from her life at the same time.

    I was watching after years the Girlie Show from Fukuoka yesterday. Now THAT was a fucking great band. And say whatever you want about Niki and Donna, but they were amazing together.

    NO. Even the Vogue Germany video was retouched to death. Luigi is ok, but she needs new blood.

    Oh yes, I forgot. I love the Vogue Germany shoot but they tend to retouch her too much. And Luigi is was actually her hairdresser in the 90s. She needs new people. The world is full of great photographers.

    Mert is on vacation, so if she's really doing it he's not (with Marcus) part fo the project. Giovanni Bianco works for Vogue Italia, so I doubt it's for another magazine. But he has a house in NY so maybe the fact that he's in town has nothing to do with M. Aaron yesterday was in Italy. I would love a change for the new album shoot, new make up artist (and I looove Aaron), hair, photographer. Not gonna happen probably but dreaming is free. She should really work with another photograher though. For the last 10 years she only worked with Mert & Marcus, Klein and Tom Munro (and Munro has not worked with her since the W.E. promo I believe) Oh yes, she works with Ellen Von Unwerth too for Cosmopolin, but that's it.

    And yes, a good promo strategy takes time, MONEY and effort. If it takes them longer to organize that and to commit to that, then so be it. 

    How do you know the promo is not already planned? Yes it takes time and strategy, but if they are not interested in that it doesn’t change a single thing if she release the album in november instead of april.

    The RH promo was good to me because she finally did some TV shows. She was back on Italian tv after 15 years, she did promo in France, Uk, America. She did lots of stuff compared to the zero promo she did for Hard Candy and MDNA.

    I want a critically acllaimed album more than a best sellers. I know it’s not important in a way, but I want a fucking great album. That’s what I want. It looks like it’s what she wants too since Diplo, Pharrell and the “hit makers” are out of the picture and Mirwais is in again.

    I put it in the context of where I live. The UK, which is (was) Madonna's second biggest market. RH opened on a shockingly low number, it has sold badly in total, her reputation is in tatters and her last tour took forever to "sell out". The sum total of her promo was a performance where she fell on her arse and one television interview. People think Madonna's last record was that one with Justin Timberlake. Get it? So ANYTHING better than that is what I want, not "20 million albums sold". 

     

    So tell me Kim what do you want from her next promo? She did the fucking Brits last time and it didn't work. Why wait spring for the album then? She can do Jonathan Ross (another promo that didn't work) and Graham Norton in the fall too. Do you want a spring release just for the Brits?
