What would be the correct seating chart?
Do you have it? Can you post a pic here?
I don't have a pic. According to MSG when you call or email them they say that the chart on ticketmaster is supposed to show a catwalk. And there's a pod section (the section in front of the ministage) again like there was on the Confessions Tour. They sound a bit baffled about the layout when you call them and say there's supposed to be a catwalk. In the presale this month they sold tickets specifically located in the Pod section. For the past week other shows on ticketmaster (especially the NJ Izod place) they keep changing the chart with a generic endstage and catwalk layouts. We still don't know for sure what the layout for this tour is. This is unprofessional to sell tickets without the correct chart displayed. This needs to be cleared up soon! They should've had the correct chart on ticketmaster there ever since the presale started!

And they still haven't corrected the seating chart there

I doubt I will find anything I want today but I will look anyway of course. I rarely get anything from the initial public sale pandemonium and usually get excellent floor seats months later.

"Change" closing credits with "Miles Away" by Madonna
As I've reported a few months ago, Madonna has licensed Miles Away, expected to be the album’s third single, as the theme for a drama called Change on Japan’s Fuji TV.
Today you can watch the closing credits of the series that aired yesterday with Miles Away in the background (as you can hear, the song was slightly edited): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0za0xhvwq8g

Maddie on again
DESPITE reports that Madonna won't be heading our way this year, industry rumours emerged last week that the Material Girl may be planning a trip in November - when she will be 50 - to promote her latest album, Hard Candy.
Madonna is yet to confirm or deny any of the whispers, although it's believed that if she comes, she'll be bringing her collaborator on Hard Candy, Justin Timberlake.
She hasn't toured Australia since 1993 when she brought her Girlie Show here.

This really clears things up, NOT
"Thank you for contacting us regarding Madonna in NY @ Madison Square Garden. According to our website, the stage layout is what is listed online. Regretfully, we do not have the catwalk information. We apologize for any inconvenience"
Where is the catwalk going to be on that map?

Icon's value and service has been a wreck for awhile and it seems to only get worse. I'm glad I didn't renew when my subscription expired. I know I will find great seats at face value for the tour without that club's help. I hope the members there are giving Icon and that Johann guy HELL for the service they're getting. If they really want to see Icon make positive changes they should massively threaten to cancel their subscriptions. $$$ talks!

Madonna teams with ticket seller StubHub
May 14, 2008, 01:12 PM | by Chris Willman
Has Madonna taken to scalping her own tickets? Not exactly. But many music fans feared a bad precedent was being set when StubHub — a popular eBay-owned website where individuals and brokers resell sports and concert ducats — announced they’d forged a “partnership” with Madge and her promoter, Live Nation. Some assumed this meant blocks of tickets would be directed to StubHub, where they typically go for a much higher premium. Not so, says Chuck La Vallee, StubHub’s head of business development for music.
“She’s not going to be selling tickets on StubHub,” La Vallee says. “StubHub doesn’t own inventory, ever. It’s an endorsement, with Madonna saying: 'Look, if the show is sold out, you can still find tickets here.'” The company won’t discuss terms of their deal with the superstar, though The Wall Street Journal reported that Madge will get a flat fee as well as a percentage of the income from the tickets being resold for her tour. StubHub doesn’t owe Madonna or any artist money from secondary market sales, so what’s in the cash handover for them?
For starters, their logo on all the print ads and promo e-mails for her tour, offering StubHub a leg up on rivals like Ticketmaster’s TicketsNow site, not to mention Craigslist. More importantly, Madonna’s imprimatur lends legitimacy to an industry some still associate with Fast Times at Ridgemont High’s shady scalper, Mike Damone. But won’t every artist be stampeding to get a piece of their StubHub action now? “I don’t know if it’s quite a stampede,” laughs La Vallee. “We’ll weigh our options on an artist-by-artist basis.”

I'm hoping Madge lands a spot on So You Think You Can Dance, or maybe even allow GITM to be used for a dance routine.
I'd love that

are you sure this isnt from CT?
Nah, she didn't perform at this venue on the CT. And this seating chart wasn't on ticketmaster for the NJ Izod show earlier this week.
If you call MSG they say there's supposed to be a catwalk and that the endstage map on ticketmaster for MSG is incorrect. They sold tickets for the Pod section (in front of the catwalk ministage) in the presale yesterday.
-
If you call MSG directly they says there's a catwalk for the shows there. And at the Icon presale today fans claim to have BOUGHT seats for MSG located in POD A (section in front of the catwalk ministage). The map on ticketmaster is still the generic endstage layout. More confusion and chaos. They should've had this shit cleared up before the presale began. MESS!

Madonna inks ticket deals with StubHub, viagogo
Mon, May 12th 2008 2:25 pm EST
By Alfred Branch Jr.
In what could be considered a boon for both companies, and further indication of the validity and growing influence of the secondary ticket market, StubHub and viagogo will be the official secondary ticketing companies for Madonna's upcoming Sticky & Sweet world tour.
The tour, which is in support of Madonna's new hit album "Hard Candy," will likely be one of the top concert draws of the year, and in fact the tour is already the 10th most popular overall ticket event, according to TicketNews's exclusive weekly ranking. StubHub is the official "fan-to-fan" ticket exchange, while UK-based viagogo is the official premium seat and secondary ticketer for the British and European markets, except in Germany and Italy. The tour is the first one under the singer's landmark 10-year, $120 million deal with Live Nation.
StubHub spokesperson Sean Pate told TicketNews that the deal is the largest music deal the company has ever done. Madonna and StubHub worked together a few years to promote a charity event, and the company has done that with other artists. Last year, StubHub was sued by Ticketmaster when the Rowdy Frynds tour used StubHub to sell premium tickets, but under the Madonna deal, she is not selling tickets through StubHub, according to Pate. StubHub is a tour sponsor and has received her endorsement.
"We're obviously pretty excited by the arrangement," Pate said. "It's a big stamp of approval from a major artist that will hopefully lead to more partnership with the music industry and less resistance. Madonna has always been a trend-setting artist and business person so it's no surprise that her team would be willing to get this deal done."
The move to StubHub and viagogo would appear to trump Ticketmaster and its new secondary ticket division TicketsNow, which are in a pitched battle with StubHub, viagogo and other secondary ticket brokers for market dominance. Ticketmaster is a primary ticket seller for the tour, and brokers can still resell Madonna tickets through TicketsNow, but the companies are not the ones authorized by the artist for secondary sales.
Eric Baker, founder and CEO of viagogo, told TicketNews that the unprecedented deal marks a triumph for the company. "Madonna and Live Nation are remaking the music scene, and we're thrilled to be working with them." Last year, viagogo and Live Nation signed a deal in the Netherlands for viagogo to be the company's official secondary ticket seller in that country.
"This is the first time a major artist is publicly endorsing a company as a premium and secondary ticket seller for a worldwide tour. And when Madonna is first with something, as she so often has been over the course of her career, she is never the last. This could have big repercussions for the industry," Baker said.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PASSCODES
2008-05-12 11:16:05
Please be aware that fans are only allowed to pick up one passcode, and that in many cases passcodes are good only for the show the code was obtained from. Please do not attempt to "test" the ticketing system by picking up a code for a show you are not interested in attending. Once you have picked up your code, you will not be issued a second one. Please choose the show you would like to attend carefully, thank you.

Iconers are complaining on forums that the pre-sale is a mess with the passcodes and that the tickets they're getting offered (for assigned seating) sucks!

If the site doesn't come up then you've been IP blocked by ticketmaster. It happened to me once years ago. They block people if they think they've done too many searches in a short time frame. The block on that IP # is usually for 24 hours. You'll need another IP to get back on the site in the meantime. They do this IP blocking to deter scalpers, but of course scalpers are sophisticated enough to circumvent this with a gazillion IPs at their disposal. And they have programs which bypass that whole captcha code crap. This is a part of the reason why tours "sell out" so fast. Scalpers are able to buy up many seats very quickly. Literally 1000s of tickets per show. Watch stubhub and and scalper ticketing sites swell with many more NY tickets soon.
