Madonna’s Concert at Jaz Might be Sold Out

    2008-07-24 15:15:25

Budva – Judging by the interest expressed so far – 15,000 tickets sold – concert of world pop-icon, Madonna which will take places at Jaz beach would gather more than expected 60,000 of her fans.

More than 10,000 tickets had been sold only during the first week, after the total amount of 65,000 tickets had been placed into the market. According to the words of concert’s spokesperson, Aleksandar Rados, another 5,000 have been sold since.

“Selling of tickets is progressing remarkably well, not only in Montenegro, but also in other countries of the region. Of course, we are most pleasantly surprised with great number of fans from Hungary, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, Germany and other countries who have announced their arrival.

Also, there is an interesting campaign going on in Greece: ‘If you want to see Madonna two days before her gig in Athens, go to Montenegro”, Rados told “Vijesti.”

He said he expected fans to completely cover the site of Jaz beach, adding that this may well be the best concert during Madonna’s tour.

“We have launched one of the biggest marketing campaigns which had ever been realized in this region.

All media are broadcasting adds announcing her concert, while billboards are on display in all of the most important towns across former Yugoslavia.

Every week, we arrange press conferences. Last week, we had one in Belgrade, this week we go to Zagreb and then to Ljubljana.

By doing this, we wish to promote this music spectacle and make sure that as many fans as possible come to Montenegro to see Madonna”, Rados said.

While in Montenegro, Madonna will stay in the presidential suit of luxurious Becici hotel “Splendid.” Expense of one night in “Splendid”, in that suit, costs “only” Euro 7,000. The same price had already been paid by Spanish singer, Hulio Iglesias and front man of “Rolling Stones” during their last year’s concert.

“Splendid” says that Madonna has reserved 100 rooms for crew. The only request they have received from Madonna so far is to provide a room with mirrors, where queen of pop can continue working on her choreographies.

Budva and Jaz beach had been officially included on the list of cities where Madonna would perform as a part of her “Sticky & Sweet” world tour. Queen of Pop agreed in her contract that she would not perform in any other country of the region.

European part of this world tour starts in UK’s town of Cardiff. Madonna would also perform in other European metropolis’, including: Nice, Berlin, Zurich, Amsterdam, Rome, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Vienna. Two days after her concert at Jaz, Madonna would finish her European tour in Athens, on 27 September.

During her North American tour, Madonna will perform in 25 cities, including four concerts in New York. With this years’ tour, Madonna marks 25 years of her music career and celebrates her 50th birthday.

65,000 tickets had been placed on the market for her concert in Budva. Prices range from Euro 200 for VIP lounge, to Euro 70 for the places next to the stage. Regular tickets costs Euro 35. They can be bought in the offices of “Prva banka” bank.

According to the announcements of the organizers, concert would last two and a half hours. Madonna’s equipment would be brought to Budva with 18 trucks. Stage will be 100 meters long and 10 meters high.

'Give It 2 Me': Don't mention the 'f' word...

    Wednesday, July 23 2008, 14:48 BST

    By Nick Levine, Music Editor

It feels a bit ridiculous to call a top ten hit a flop, so we won't, but #7 is not where the second single from a Madonna album wants to peak. Sadly, that's where 'Give It 2 Me' stalled on Sunday after CD singles sales were added to its downloads tally, and it looks unlikely to climb any higher this week.

Nobody's pretending it's one of Madonna's most awe-inspiring moments, but 'Give It 2 Me' is a thoroughly decent single. Actually, it's better than that: it's immediate, modern-sounding and filled to the brim with attitude and energy. What's gone wrong? Well, the rushed, uninspired video didn't help matters - it's never a good sign when Ma Ritchie can't seem to be arsed - but the main problem seems to be Madonna's new, R&B-inspired sound.

Let's not beat around the bush - pop fans don't seem to be very keen on it. Despite kicking off with a proper smash in the form of '4 Minutes', her Hard Candy album has sold disappointingly so far, shifting around 250,000 copies in the UK since its release three months ago. To put that figure into context, her last album, 2005's discotastic Confessions On A Dancefloor, sold more in a fortnight.

Madonna's yet to announce what the third single from Hard Candy will be, but might we suggest 'Miles Away'? It's very different to what's come before it, being sad, pretty and to all intents and purposes a ballad, but it might inform punters that the album features some impressive melodies as well as a generous smattering of Timbaland/Neptunes beats.

An imaginative, exciting, interesting video wouldn't go amiss either. We know Madonna's got a tour to prepare for and everything, but since when was 'Queen of Pop' an easy job?

Why do you think 'Give It 2 Me' performed disappointingly? What should the next single from Hard Candy be? Use the space below to have your say.

    Madonna Madrid concert is cancelled

    By h.b. - Jul 24, 2008 - 7:58 AM

The concert had been set for September 16, but another gig in Valencia two days later still goes ahead. The planned concert by Madonna set for September 16 in Madrid has been cancelled.

Reports indicate that the artist’s agency decided to cancel the date which had been agreed with the Last Tour International promoter. There is some speculation that it may be reset, perhaps with another promoter, but that has not been confirmed by Madonna’s record label Warner.

It means that the singer’s only currently confirmed Spanish date on her current tour will be in Valencia at the Cheste racetrack on September 18th. Tickets for that are on sale at www.ticktackticket.com

  6. MADONNA wants to reunite ex lovers BRITNEY SPEARS and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE on stage during her world tour.

The Queen Of Pop has turned Madgemaker and wants them to join forces as the grand finale of her Sticky & Sweet jaunt.

Britney has already filmed a sexy cameo for Madge’s tour, to be beamed on to a giant screen as a stage backdrop.

Filmed in a lift, one scene shows a toned Brit looking hot and sweaty in a clinging white vest.

Madge has also asked the Toxic star to make a surprise appearance in person at some shows.

And she is desperate to get JT on stage too.

Justin was heavily involved in the recording of Madge album Hard Candy and she wants him to perform one of their duets from the CD.

Madge’s dream is to shock the world with JT and Britney — whose four-year relationship ended in 2002 — appearing on the same stage at her final US date in Miami in November.

A source revealed: “Madonna is always trying to raise the bar and Britney and Timberlake on the same stage would be perfect.

“They have both been asked but I think both are a bit reluctant. Britney would find it all a bit emotional and JT might not fancy it.

“More likely is that they both appear on different dates.

“But if anyone can make this happen it’s Madonna.”

    How terrifying...

Where is this from? When posting articles please include the source/link, thanks.

  7. The 1989 charts debates were just like that!

I collect album reviews and sales data comparisons since the LAP era:

that album was often labelled as a disappointment, there are many reviews

    stating

"Ok, she tried to shock us with the first single and video, so the album went to no.1. Then she spent millions of dollars for the second video, but the song flopped (= it didn't catch the no.1 spot). Now we've got a third single and video, in which she tries to be sweet smiling among dolphins. But there's a fact: LAP is struggling to sell a half of what TB did, and Madonna lost her identity. USA has its new Madonna now: Paula Abdul. She sings better than Madonna, she dances better than her".

    Other pearls:

"Be careful, Madonna, you are 30 and a series of 20yo newcomers is ready to steal your crown. Their names are Martika, whose Toy Soldier is a tremendous hit, Jody Watley, Tiffany".

"Promise To Try" composed for the fans of Debbie Gibson, because she's a copycat of her ballads.

"Madonna is trying to recupe her lost fans, tired of her sex/religion exploits, so her new single Dear Jessie is a baroque and her new video is a cartoon, but it is already a flop".

"Madonna recycled the vogueing and released a catchy but forgettable song. But the real winner of this 1990 is Sinead O'Connor"

"Nobody is interested to a Madonna greatest hits because everybody owns the albums. She was forced to realize a porno video trying to sell her GH"

    Etcetera.

    :lmao: @ those comments
