  1. Im not up on all this scalping stuff. So StubHub could pretty much buy up every ticket and then charge crazy prices? But couldnt they do this anyway to begin with with any concert? They only difference being that Madonna gets a cut of it now?

The difference is that this time Madonna is giving them access to the best seats, before they had to find other ways of getting them. Before they got some good seats, this time they might get most of them

  2. See the NYC show tickets there, http://www.stubhub.com/madonna-tickets/mad...-7-2008-636250/

Those are the seats with the best views. Look at the prices. Sorry but I would rather book a vacation to London than buy a concert ticket.

Shes also encouraging other bands/singers to do this as well.

I thought ticketmaster was evil. wow was i wrong.

If those tickets sell, those are probably going to be the ticketmaster prices for her next tour.

  3. The only way to shut this down is to NOT use it. So, it's easy people. Don't buy your tickets through there. Simple. There is no way I buy from there unless the price is face-value. Why should these people make a profit off Madonna??? fuck that.

That sounds good, but its not going to happen. There are a lot of rich people that will pay those prices. The demand is there, so the prices will keep going up. The main problem with scalping is that now Madonna is going to figure out how much she can get away with. If she charges thousands for the first 10 rows we know they would sellout. I have a feeling this is going to happened during Madonna's next tour.

    Row 1: $8,000

    Row 2: $8,000

    Row 3: $7,000

    Row 4: $6,000

    Row 5: $5,000

    Row 6: $3,000

    Row 7: $3,000

    Row 8: $2,000

    Row 9: $2,000

    Row 10: $1,000

She can probably get away with charging that much right now.

  4. Maybe if those tiks dont sell on stubhub they will lower those insane prices. Maybe they want to see what they can get away with, Madonna too.

Maybe its a litmus test! For her next tour the first 3 rows will be $5,000, 4th row $4,000... etc. They can use the scalping experience to figure out how much people are willing to pay  If they figure out that the demand is there, they will be charging 1000's for the first few rows.

  5. Egypt, India get big names from time 2 time but they're very low money concerts - Aerosmith, Whitney

Egypt could afford an Madonna show. When Shakira performed there last year her tickets where: Egyptian Pounds 400 EGP, 750 EGP, 1000 EGP, 2000 EGP, 3000 EGP (United States Dollars $70.09 USD, $131.42 USD, $175.23 USD, $350.46 USD, $525.69 USD)

100,000 people where at the show. Spazz was at this show :)

  6. COADF came out before Christmas. So yeah it sold more. April is a low month. If HC came out in November it would have opened with a 350K easily.

I agree, the problem is that this is the # people expect from a new Madonna album. Timbaland/Justin didn't help Madonna very much. With that being said, it doesn't really matter. Madonna is past the point in her career where charts matter. She could flop and her legacy would remain intact. She just needs 1 hit from the album and that's enough for her to do another record setting world tour. Actually, she would even do a record setting tour with a flop single/album. Charts really don't matter to Madonna at this point. Only online fans that care about charts care about this type of stuff.

  7. They are seriously obsessed :scared:

E=MC2 is the worst album by a major artist i've heard in a long time

TMB is one of the worst first singles i've heard by a major artist in a long time

    Bye Bye is even worse

    I just can't get it

Sorry US... but you must have some of the dumbest people on earth... this would have never worked elsewhere

She has a team that cares about her chart performance. Mariah was the first artist to release a song on a Monday. If Madonna would have waited a bit to release the song on iTunes it would have hit #1 for sure. M's team doesn't care about charts. I even mentioned this a few weeks ago at this forum. I was wondering why Madonna released 2 minutes so early on iTunes. Waiting would have ensured a US #1. Oh well.

Mariah is releasing the safe stuff first that will sell the album.
