On the 40-position Top Music Videos chart, The Confessions Tour inches down 26-27 in its 13th week.
I'm Going to Tell You a Secret logged 10 weeks on this chart. Perhaps a more fitting comparison would be Drowned World Tour- that one spent 20 weeks on the chart. (the chart went throught a little bit of an overhaul at some point, as there were lots of CD/DVD combos that started to chart- then, Billboard set a minimum DVD running time in order for such titles to be eligible).
-
COADF drops 13-15 on Top Electronic Albums, 77 weeks on. It's the 3rd-longest-running title on the 25-position chart- Gorillaz (down 8-9) is at 101 weeks, and Imogen Heap holds at 5 (78 weeks; not certified).
-
There's not much $ that goes into club releases, compared to radio (well, if the label promotes it properly).
-
Her pre-taped msg on Karaoke Idol and kiddie book promo isn't going to cause any grand sales spike fopr COADF.
-
Yes, can't forget about those super-high-sales-chart rankings. At least COADF is still selling somewhat OK, all thoings considering- the Jump single is selling less than 300 units!
-
TCT drops 19-26 on Billboard's Top Music Videos chart.
Sales probably still above 1K, as MJ's Number Ones has been scanning 1K+ for some time (and it's up 34-32 in its 160th week on).
-
COADF is bulleted on Top Electronics Albums, up 15-13*, 76 weeks on.
-
Okkkk... why the United World Chart re-entry?
-
I could ask my contacts, but I really don't wanna pester them on a regular basis. I'm content getting the info I get!

Off the Wall and Thriller usually sell pretty decently, but they saw an increase because of that promo. The Mimi, Whitney and Janet albums didn't benefit as much as LAV (then again, their weekly sales ususally aren't as high as those for LAV).
-
COADF was released right before the holiday season kicked in, which was a great time frame.
JW was Whitney's highest opening in the SS era, but it did benefit from a December release.
-
AL has not yet passed 670K.
Sales of the janet. album have fallen off the last couple of years- actually, in the most recent week, Rhythm Nation outsold it!
-
Alanis hasn't appeared in the catalog 200 recently, I don't think.
Another female album whose studio album sales were affected by a compilation- Shania Twain. Not that Come On Over needs to add any more sales to its total...
-
Ray of Light's sales aren't all that far behind GHV2- but then again, GHV2's catalog sales aren't anything to write home about...
An album like Like a Prayer indeed is a classic, but not in the realm of Dark Side of the Moon, I s'pose. However, the only female record that continues to sell very well even though there are compilations available is Carole King's Tapestry. However, none of her compilations have been big sellers.
-
BR, I put the total to date in this week's sales post (in this thread).
-
Cume stands at 92,900 and change...
-
And have such releases been confirmed? And what DVD content will they have?
Sales in general have slipped, too, keep in mind- TIC has scanned just over 28,000 to date this year- it's on track to do less biz than last year (unless a new album sparks things a bit).
-
Yup, I'd say it will reach 50K in Japan with ease.

COADF Sales Breakdown
CD: 1.514 million
Digital: 108,848
I'd think shipments for the CD would be around 1.9m or so. So, maybe with the next album era, COADF will go double platinum...

Back in business!
(if I get TCT info, I'll post it)

The well has run VERY dry, it seems. Hope to get something soon, as well.
A local Wal-Mart did have a copy of IGGTYAS- no R&R. Maybe a GHV2, not sure.

Holds at No. 18 on Top Music Videos; 9 weeks on the chart.

Well, of course we know that dance music doesn't sell all that well in the USA. But, it's good to look at in terms of how COADF continues to sell. After the first several positions, the sales totals aren't that impressive (except maybe in a bigger-than-normal sales week).
