I think it's the catchiest and best song on the Madonna album. It's exploding with energy. I love it. And the video was the perfect introduction to Madonna, even more than Borderline which is more laidback. Borderline is seriously overrated, I have no idea how that was her breakthrough song because its the least Madonna track imo.
I have no idea how Burning Up would have done. Definitely top 5. It should have been #1. Nice to see this track brought back on Reinvention, included on Celebration and even included in the Glee episode. Its actually quite insigificant really, virtually an album track so I'm surprised its receieved so much attention. Perhaps due to the quality of the song.
Wow, I actually agree with your silly ass. I HATE Borderline and I'm not afraid to say it!!! Burning Up is FAR better!

I think the reason Madonna's off with a lot of her siblings is because they all seem to have fucked things up with her. Anthony used her father, Martin is on drugs and went on talk shows in the 90s to talk about her to probably get drug money, Paula's crazy jealous even though Madonna's done things for her as well, Christopher got opportunities he didn't deserve, fucked them up and is now crying about it, he was also on drugs. On top of that they all seem so entitled.
My oldest sister ran a million dollar company and still has a lot of money left from her business (she shut it down two years ago because she grew tired). I worked for her and she gave me opportunities I'd otherwise never get and I'm eternally grateful to her for them and the money I made. I never ever felt entitled to her money or jealous of her. I was only extremely proud of her accomplishments and that I could call her my sister. Christopher needed to put the drugs down and he should have focused on the future. I bet he thought he'd be working for her forever.
That all being said Madonna has said in interviews that Melanie is one of her best friends. She went into detail about her relationship with Melanie in that Evita interview and said that Melanie is like a mother to her because she has their mother's nature. I wonder what Melanie's opinion on Madonna is? She's the only one that hasn't spoken about her in the media. She was also hardly mentioned in the book.

Why doesn't she just do another Girlie Show type tour and not spend months and months in Europe, and months and months in North America. Your reading comprehension is as bad as Janet's incomprehensible mumbling. Everyone who knows me on here knows I tell it like it is, and to people's faces. It's nothing to do with following the crowd, it's about slightly adjusting your posts and attitude to fit in certain places - like how in real life you put a face on and you're different around certain people. I never said it was about changing yourself entirely, it's about small adjustments - you can still be yourself. God. You obviously didn't understand a single word I said.

Well as I've said before, I've said more negative things about Madonna on Moopy (so has even Suedehead actually) - it's a different vibe there. Life is all about PERSONAS and adjusting to suit places and fit in.
I consciously chose to tone it down here (yet am still negative

For a person who has so much free time posting in various forums, I guess he's unemployed.
In Germany, if you're unemployed, the government will compensate you with a small amount of money. And according to most of the unemployed, they rather stay unemployed 'cos even if they manage to get a job (Non-professional/high profile job), the difference between the salary and the money they receive from the government was not much different. So why work if one can still receive the same / slightly lesser amount of money from the government?
I guess it's the same thing happened in Greece. So when the greek government has decided to tighten up their budget and reduce / cut down that compensation, most unemployed greek ppl are unhappy about it and oppose the idea.
It wouldn't surprise me if he's one of them.
I'm unemployed too right now and I can't imagine spending that much time online talking about Madonna, Gaga, and Britney. I still don't have enough time. Doesn't he have to clean, take a shower, cook, eat, take a shit, fuck, see friends, I mean really! I guess he doesn't spend any time looking for a new job.

I don't know (I've never talked to him) or care to know this Gimme person but he seems like someone with waayyyyy too much time on their hands. I'm unemployed right now and I still don't haven enough time to post here. He's posting here as well as other places and he seems to be a regular and someone everyone knows on all of these message boards as well as having multiple personalities. Why didn't she just put this on the album too? She could've had a Gang Bang part 1 and 2, Beyonce does shit like that all the time! This song is a lot better than some of the other songs. It's also different in terms of Madonna music. It could've been a hit. The thing I like about it is that it sounds really happy but the subject matter is so dark. It makes the song very interesting just like Till Death Do Us Part was on LAP.
