I love this song, even more now than 4 months ago... i like everything of it, i find fitting even the Quavo's featuring, he's got the right vibe for a dancehall song like this. She and Diplo have definitely improved what they came up with Unapologetic Bitch.
I'd like it to become the next US single...

Grammys are the new VMA nowadays, mostly album with good sales and high chart placement are taken into account... get ready to see Grande, Swift, Gaga, Eilish, Khalid, Beyoncè nominated and Madonna snubbed again.
What a shame Grammys were so snob towards pop music when she was at her peak (commercially speaking)...

It's not that bad, but if this is one of her best remixes i cannot imagine the others lol
Sorry i'm not a big remix person, mostly when a slow song has turned into a fast one (i prefer when the arrangement is changed but not the vibe of the song, à la Express Yourself for example), and i usually don't listen to them. This time i tried though because she is singing this version on tour... well i hope it will be better and most moving live because so far the album version is waaaay better (same for Future).

She is well aware of what she's doing with her "processed voice" and its juxtaposition against "natural instrumentation."
This!
I can't believe so many fans seem no more able to appreciate how beautiful and original contrasts and juxtapositions can be instead of flatter and more predictable settlements.

It was one of the songs that i loved the most during the first week of listening and i still think it's a gorgeous ballad, really moving and with the typical vibe of Something To Remeber's songs. But now i also think that in the album context is also a very safe song (like I Rise) and thematically far from the braveness and experimentalism of the other slower songs... i can see why she decided to put it as a bonus and not perform it on the show (i'll never understand the standard-exclusion for Extreme Occident instead... maybe too similar to Killers to some extent?).

What i find curious is that most of the fans seems to appreciate more the songs i find a bit sonically out of place in the album context... I Don't Search I find, Dark Ballet and even God Control. They're all beautiful tracks but i still feel like they don't fit the ethnic vibe of the record, its bond with Portugal and countries related.
I would probably have preferred if God Control was the opening track and Dark Ballet was at at the very end of the record near I Rise and IDSIF, in order to create a sorta of border to delimit the real core of the album, more latin tinged.

I really like Batuka, i know many people cannot stand her heavily processed voice on it and that would have preferred a more natural vocal delivery but i think it would have been more predictable that way, just a "normal" attempt to ethnic music. The final mix is instead quite interesting and original, a great contrast between the robotic and futuristic tone of her voice and the tribal and ancestral vibe of the batukadeiras, it's different from standard world music.
Not very fan of the videoclip thought... well i do actually like the message, the beautiful images of the batukadeiras en plain air and theis sadness, but i'm not fond on Madonna's look and acting in it. I know she probably didin't want overshadow the musicians and the message but i miss her "star attitude" in this video.

In no particular order (i change my mind every day)
Come Alive
Extreme Occident
Future
Killers Who Are Partying
Crave

I would not put Madame X among my favourite albums from her but it's still a great work, very solid and full of ideas and beautilful music. Given she's almost 40 years on this business it's almost a miracle that she's still so creative and brave in her artistic choices. I still listen to it quite often!

I like all of them but at the moment it would be like this:
15. I Rise
14. I Don't Search I Find
13. Dark Ballet
12. Bitch I'm Loca
11. Faz Gostoso
10. Crazy
9. Medellin
8. Looking For Mercy
7. God Control
6. Batuka
5. Future
4. Crave
3. Extreme Occident
2. Killers Who Are Partying
1. Come Alive
Still have to better listen and pay attention to the other 3 bonus, i'm waiting for their uploads on Spotify.

It's probably my favourite track on the record, love the ethinc percussions and the uplifting vibe of the song... i can't believe many fans don't like it or consider it just a filler, to me is part of the real core of the album (from track 5 to 10 roughly).
