I know you're doing this with the best intentions in the world, but it's annoying that you make promotional queries in all the discussions. Please stop. Thanks! There is already a thread specifically about this.
Agreed, it's really annoying although well intentioned.
As for Future, it is a soulful, joyous feast with a message. The horns are everything, and this is the first release off MX since Medellin that has the world music vibe she has implied the album will deliver.
Unapologetic Bitch - a song I have a lot of appreciation for - sounds almost anemic in comparison.

I'm willing to bet my dead grandmother's soul M will do a snippet of Dark Ballet. There must be a reason she's hashtagged it in her Eurovision updates. Also, she said in the interview for Billboard that the song is about Joan of Arc, and look what she's wearing for the rehearsal. Madame X is a saint and a half.

I think her hairs just wet not brown.
No, that's black hair. And I don't think she would tease it on IG unless she'd decided to do it on stage as well

Whether the video that "leaked" is the finished product or not, it's now safe to say this era is delivering her best videos since the AL era, possibly even the Music era.

Effing epic.

Madame X is a warrior? A knight in an armour? Not the getup I expected. This is going to be grand.

M&M have truly tangible chemistry. You can sense it even in a tiny clip such as this.

This is an ear-worm. A really good ear-worm.

Eurovision is the definition of political.

I wonder if Jonas is directing since he helmed the tour announcement as well.

wonder if there will be surprise guests/cameos and what the hologram n cgi will be for!
I predict there will be cameos by different Madame X personas .

Lol of course it's not her best song. She could release a masterpiece to end them all and it would still be impossible for that to instantly become her best song.
Frozen, Live to Tell, LAP, Vogue etc have had time to become cultural milestones and provide a soundtrack to people's lives for years. Time will tell if Medellin has that kind of staying power and how it will actually stack up against her best songs. Realistically, at this point, I would probably rank it somewhere in my top forty Madonna songs of all time.
For now, it is easily her best lead single since Hung Up and best single since Sorry. Coupled with the video, it's a bona fide artistic and critical comeback and seems to serve as an intro to an era in which she is more invested than anything since, well, COADF again. That's more than I dared to dream of anymore. But at this point, it definitely cannot be fairly compared with her iconic classics.

Moving to the ass thread as soon as she makes her first public appearance xoxo
I'm hopeful that we won't have to. Her ass looks back to normal at least here:

Yeah, and that one didn't come out.
I think the last time it worked in her favor was the Music video, and still the controversy there was a little mild....compared to other things she did previously.
Whatever it is I hope it works. Imagine if it is LGBT related. She'd get the support of the whole community.
*fingers crossed*
But the only reason it hasn't worked in her favour is that she hasn't done it. The Music video wasn't really controversial. The AL video didn't even come out (as you pointed out) and the song didn't just flop because of the video anyway but because it was generally considered to be a sub-par single.
The only video remotely resembling controversial since then is Girl Gone Wild, and it wasn't actually controversial at all. I would argue that when she's actually released a truly controversial video (Like a Prayer, Erotica), it more or less has worked in her favour. It's just been an eternity since she last did that.
I'm really happy if we're about to witness the comeback of political M videos. She needs a Youtube hit and if done well, this is the way to get it, just ask Childish Gambino.

Interesting, but also a little worrying.
This strategy hasn't worked for her in a LONG time.
When was the last time she tried this strategy though? I don't think she's released a bona fide controversial video in over a decade, possibly since American Life.

To say I'm excited about this new era is a criminal understatement, but one thing I don't understand. Why were some drag queens hired to perform in the video the day before the shooting started? Judging by everything else we know, M has put a lot of thought and careful planning into this project - was there some sort of a last-minute U-turn in the concept of the video or something?

Finally. I have a feeling the new era will be her best since Confessions. She finally woke up again.
The signs are promising indeed. TeamID seems to know what they're doing. Janelle Monae, Emily Blunt, Leah Remini and Julia Louis Dreyfus are all among their recent success strories.
EUROVISION! The aftermath!

Ok so this has been blown out of all proportion. I feel bad for Mambo.
