You can think Beyoncé is award-worthy all you want but I refuse to believe that her and Jay-Z deserve a GLAAD award. What the fuck was that about?!

I just think there is no need to undermine the talent of other obviously talented performers to discuss the lack of recognition Madonna is receiving. I agree on the GLAAD

I do not even know how they draw these conclusions. I am neither gay nor a man and yet I would like that at NYC Pride commemorating 50 years of Stonewall, that mother superior who they have tried to get for decades does not go there full of self importance trying to get the gays woke. They came there to party and drink and celebrate how far they have come even though there is still a ways to go. There is still time for that in Madonna's art isn't there? Dear God! Not everything must be the world is doomed and we must do something to change it. We know. But every now and hen can we just dance M? Can we?!

    This feels so right!

  3. i like that dark ballet is a strange song but it isn't doing a lot to me not even in terms of production. Nevertheless I hope this will lead to more weirdness into her more pop compositions. I always appreciate the juxtaposition of pop lyrics and hooks to a more challenging production. This is just a interesting composition that could work as a intro or interlude in a concert. I'm listening to gang bang...

  4. The radio situation is a difficult story. Madonna isn't played on radio for reasons beyond the music but also beyond just her age. Sadly she simply isn't cool anymore as she was. When we say that if the music she makes was presented by another artist they would play it, it is a reality that was the case for Madonna herself vs other artists when she was at her peak. A pop artis is not just the music. I know a lot of people who loved her and are extremely critical with her artistic choices, and despite I see things differently I understand them. As much as Madonna always been a pop artist she was also the smartest coolest, chick in music. Now Her styling is often not so interesting or innovative, her fashion choices uninspired and her recent videos( not from madame x) maybe fun but way too simplistic to be part of her legacy. I know this sounds very harsh. I still love her because nobody is as resilient as her and as creative in this stage of  life. Nevertheless there is a whole group of people that simply isn't interested in the artist she is now because they think she has been so great that this is just a reductive version of herself. The only way out for her was to go more left field. She tried with American life but it was a bad moment x politics  and the album was too pop x the alternative and too alternative to be fully pop. Confession was a way to make a U turn but even if great it was the album that branded her as a more superficial artist for a generation that knows her for that album hard candy and mdna. If I was born in the new millennium I would not be a fan. Fortunately mandame x is starting again from where she left the good part of her career. American life. Radios will not play her but she has more important things to do as  an artist, such as taking care of her legacy and producing good music that quite soon will be re-evaluated. Even the haters loves Madonna!!!!

Wishful thinking. I think we all respect Madonna and her artistic choices but she and hear team would never think of compiling such a well thought-out compilation which includes hits and deep cuts. It’s sounds like a simple and great idea...in fact it sounds like the compilations I have been mixing for friends and colleagues for years already.

I totally get what you are saying. Sad. But I have hope. She isn't a idiot.

  6. The best way to do a greatest hits album is to mold it on the immaculate collection. A multiple album affair including all her best and most famous tracks interwoven with more recent cuts...but only the very good ones making choices not based on the singles but the strength of the songs. For instance for mdna it would make sens to have gang bang addicted and love spent. She should include also more obscure compositions such as secret garden and paradise....all mixed with the bangers. She should get a musical director to adjust the mixing and make minor changes or mixes just to have everything come together nicely. In terms of branding she should keep the name immaculate collection and subtly update the design to make it the ultimate Madonna selection. She should add maybe just one b-side x album revisited by amazing producers like daft punk and why not some old friends like Leonard, orbit, rogers...this would be a real celebration!!!

My thoughts exactly. I visited the Dior exhibition at the V&A Museum in London in February and thought to myself: Madonna needs an exhibition like this. I'm sure it would draw massive crowds, and every wannabe fashionista with their fake Chanels would be fighting over the tickets. But most of all, it would be such a treat for us fans - just like the recent detail-heavy Bowie exhibition.

As for the compilations, I did enjoy Celebration too. Kudos for including Burning up🔥 Plus the artwork was brilliant. The only thing not worth celebrating was Revolver - however I do enjoy the euro-trash quality of the title track. 😂

I would love to get a proper career encompassing box set, which was in the works already before GHV2. At least I remember Caresse Henry mentioning it. But then it was scrapped for some reason. And didn't Madonna already discard the idea of a collection with unreleased material at some point. That sure sounds like her as she is the least nostalgic artist I know and also too much of perfectionist to release anything that she's not 100% happy about. Though I would love to get an album's worth of Your Honesty...

I believe that there will be a lot of surprises ahead, as that's what Madame X herself said after the initial meltdown over the theater tour: "Madame ❌ likes to try new things.................this tour is only the beginning................👠."

A exhibition about Madonna would work only if she would be ready not to act as a curator. I know for sure V&A would love to do it. The problem is that it's much better when the main artist give the approval to the show but let the museum do their thing. This to avoid to have her ego on the way. Editing your own work is a nightmare! In addition it feels much better when a museum is dedicating u a show more then when you do one for yourself. Sadly the bjork show at Moma was a disaster because of a very bad curatorial project. Bjork totally regretted doing it.

I would love to have good curators handling it to focus not only on the beauty of her career but also the politics. I would love to see for instance the inclusion of artefacts or objects that contributed to the forming of her outcomes. For instance the artist's work she admire...think about Fellini's Roma paired with American life original video or the blond doll Madonna was used to play when she was a girl and that inspired the high ponytail x the blond ambition tour

  8. It's a fun song much better produced then written with a quite formulaic chorus. I still enjoy it very much but it isn't as iconic as Medellin. At the end of the day Madonna is a iconic star with iconic songs. Future is just a good album track even if we should wait to judge that in context. I mean a good album track can be named so only if it does support the cohesiveness of a album.

I believe we should refrain to judge Rebel heart as a whole project for similar reasons....because of the leaks we will never know how this was supposed to be released. When people says it is a mess I feel really sorry for Madonna, what happened and in a way her inability to stay firm and enjoy the bumpy ride.

When she was in her imperial phase I'm sure she would have turned that accident into a business strategy....maybe a extra album titled the rebel leak with as a cover a selfie of her leaking the toilet door of her (iconic) bathroom 🙂

  9. I believe she released solid material so far. While I have different feelings about the songs, I think Medellin still is the best track. I don't necessarily mean that it is the one I'm enjoying the most, but it has that peculiar Madonna thing I missed in her more recent outcomes, to turn upcoming or present trends into a very personal style. Crave and future are well produced and nice songs but they are missing the twisted element to make them special. This does not mean that they are not good tracks. In this moment for instance I am enjoying them more then Medellin but I believe this one will hold the test of time better then the formers.

  10. At this point I think she should go with it and release a insta post video joking about the performance and admitting the mess. Something along the line of what she released after the flower debacle in Venice....that was hilarious. I think the general public would appreciate some sense of humor...maybe a funny reaction video to her own performance...it would show self confidence and sense of humor (she should also sing a cappella a piece of the song just to prove she still have the pipes). If she would do it everybody would post or talk about it.

  11. I am enjoying the rollout of music but I feel it's becoming a bit muddy. I would have preferred a two single situation with two videos then all the previews. Medellín could have been pushed more even at Eurovision with Maluma as a hologram maybe. Anyway I'm looking forward to know more about dark ballet

I think it's hard to compare these. Firstly, when she sang Power of goodbye she was having an ignited career and a truly amazing album behind her. Everybody loved her. Media included. Secondly, when she sang POG social media didn't exist. Only us fans remember this performance. I mean how the ESC performance has spread through almost all big and small media outlets. It's just crazy. Today at work everybody talked about her performance (and it's not a place full of gays). Friends I talked to after the performance talked about it and FB and IG has been full of posts regarding this.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, and believe me, I'm one of the first persons to defend Madonna, but I think some kind of damage control is needed here. Her reputation as a live artist has been affected by this. Which is not good considering one of her main form of expression as an artist today (as it is for most artists today) is through live performances.

You are actually right. As soon as I posted it I made similar considerations. It's years she actually needs a bit of rebranding and I thought madame x was going on the right direction.

  13. We all know she will be fine! I still remember the night she performed  the power of goodbye for a MTV thing in Italy. That was the moment she was training her voice and it was really a bad performance. Maybe one thing I'm starting  to dislike is the overly staged kitch design she is using. Her best recent performances to me are the Rebel heart version of like a virgin and the tv performance of BIM. less theatrics more madonna. Even Medellin was great because of the live energy not the holograms or the kitch scenography. Basically less is more sometimes even with madonna
