I value what u have to say. I think you make a good point - Madonna does hold truck with what the Kabbalah says. It certainly has been one of the biggest things in her life so I dont think its unreasonable to think she may follow some of their spiritual laws regarding when to release etc

But yeah, sure, I'd prefer radio silence from Madonna for the past 9 months....whatever. Most ungrateful fan base ever! She's playing it absolutely right this time. She's giving just enough info but not too much. Madonna clearly works in the same way she always has. Unfortunately, the patience level and this 21st century disease of "I NEED EVERYTHING NOW" that afflicts all of us in one way or another HAS changed, so 9 months apparently feels like 9 years to some.
Sorry, dont mean to be antsy, I do hear you and take some of your points, but you are wrong. You would not know the same of the single or see her wearing hats with names on 6 months before an album had even been announced. The Met Ball or whatever its called is not a little event - its one of the most high profile celebrity events in the world and she age a performance there which shed know would be online in a flash. She did it to tease a new song. She's also just done a cover of Italian Vogue! That's major press!! They didnt pluck it out of thin air that she has an album coming - that was the reason the shoot happened, to build momentum for it. Hopefully they'll be news soon and I'll get over myself but she is in danger of reducing the excitement. It feels like its endanger of peaking already.

She did exactly that and people aren’t happy but I can understand everyone’s frustration because waiting is the hardest thing.
She didnt do that, though. She instagrammed sessions and producers, wore a hat with the song name on it, sang some at a high profile event and posted about the song etc etc. Its a total mess.

Lets stop arguing amongst ourselves. Its easy to take offence on here and its silly. Also, goes against M's ethos of kindness (and money and everyone else is not worthy of respect except for me and my grooming products ) and also it means I keep thinking someone has got news on the worlds longest drawn out album in history

Vogue does not give a timeline unless its been told directly by her or by her press people which would have come from her via her management. She also wore the Beautiful Game hat and posted fan art about it. Putting out stuff like that builds up excitement as she knows. I doubt that anyone from her team will see this but they really should know they are dissipating the excitement and building frustration. My friend who is a casual fan was excited about the African beats/Portugese influence but weve been talking about it so long it doesnt feel fresh or new anymore. Madonna is a genius but she and her team get these campaigns wrong year after year now.

She is quiet because post Rosh Hashana there is a period of time when a person corrects their tikkun, by looking deep within and meditating on some of the areas within themselves that need changing.

Yes she cant take her fans for granted. When its just fans interested she gets RH level sales. What she needs is the casual, sometime fans who buy an album like Confessions or Ray of light if there is a buzz that this is a good album. The fans have to be crazily into a project to make that buzz happen - and at the moment the buzz is dwindling. I know people hate Gaga on here but she does appreciate the love of her fans for her new work and seems to respect that and cultivate it rather than taking it for granted. I adore M but she even snarled at some impatient fan on IG a few weeks ago. You cant be criticising the people who make you especially when your ballsing up a campaign so spectacularly.

What I think is bad is that it feels like she's taking her fans for granted. She knows we are very passionate and people are very frustrated. I thought when she did a snippet at the Met we'd get a single within weeks. No one else apart from die hard fans would have even known that was a new song. I was planning to buy a zillion copies on all formats to help but I dont feel that way right now because it feels like she doesn't care about us. How hard is it to release a press release? If its not coming out till April then she should put out a one off single like Ill Remember.
Sorry. Ill quite moaning now. The album better be good.

I respect and love her, obviously, but this feels like its turning into a problem. Its indicative of how wrong her and her team have got things for the last ten years. In the old days you'd announce an album two months, maybe three before, sometimes less, so theres a burst of excitement which builds to release. She's been live instagramming sessions etc so the excitement built and yet theres no product. Its even been reported in papers etc that theres a new album, a (probably wrong) track list etc and this was all months ago. The excitement is starting to dissipate. If they leave it much longer it will be a disaster. We even know themes and artists she's worked with but no idea when there will be a record. Its part of the same patter with RH. In future they shouldn't say anything until six weeks before, punch and punch and punch to build up excitement and make it an event. Its losing momentum
That may all be shit but im frustrated!!

I don't think its stupid to compare the next new single to Frozen and LAP. Even though those are among the best songs ever created, they are both co-written by Madonna so its not a shock to expect the best from her as she has set the bar extremely high. I know that these days she is held to this tremendous standard and compared to the other singers she is still miles better in everyway, but the majority of her fans know she is capable of masterpieces and would always compare her singles to those.
Mirwais was and has been a divisive collaborator. There has been masterpieces that both have created - Paradise, Future Lovers immediately spring to mind, but his work with her has been criticized, especially since DAD. Its the reality. As for other collaborators: I m really exited for them, especially the Portuguese artists. And I hope for a great fusion between M, Mirwais and those sounds.
I don't know if the album has been pushed back. Its just that lots of ppl seem to think that as she premiered part of BG in May, had a hat with it, posted pics with that title: all pointed out that this is probably the first single, but is yet to release it some 4 months later. Its not a shock for her to change the first single: Frozen instead of ROL, 4 minutes instead of Give It To Me (judging by the cover art of the album and rumors), Living For Love instead of Unapologetic Bitch... Maybe that would happen here too? I m not getting hysterical, I m just exited and hope for the best for her and from her!
Sad to say I agree. BG sounded lame to me. I love her but i want her to make me dance or, if not, say something new. I really would struggle with yet another song about how fame and materialism is awful - from one of the most famous and richest stars in the world who continues to pursue what she says should not be what others pursue.
If they've put things back to write some pop songs then id be there for that. Think it was really odd to play a snippet of a song and not follow it up with a release or news. It does feel like she is posting and doing things instinctively without a very good team to work on a proper campaign. A friend of mine is a sometimes fan said she's lost interest its been so long.
But I am still there for it. Just want some decent songs asap!

Maybe she shot something yesterday. She had her roots done by the woman she tagged. Is Andy just make up? He wouldn't be flying over just for nothing... unless he was going on to Lisbon on a connecting flight... but he's clearly over to work on something...

So i know you all know this, but if they are shooting the album cover this week then we should get an announcement of a single and album in the next fortnight, shouldn't we...?
Think that makes sense for a November release. As has been said, theres going to be a ton of hype from now till A Star Is Born is out and early October will belong to Gaga. She wont want to go up against that considering how well it looks like it will do. So it's looking like we'll get single late Oct/early Nov and album mid Nov with a press release imminently. Maybe. Possibly. Or ill spit my grills out.

Would be great if she worked with him again. Thats what I personally think is generally missing - lovely simple catchy melodies. I wish she would write with him and then work with other producers. Worked really well on ROL.
