  1. I can't imagine why they'd be playing a song aloud while everyone there is a vocalist or instrumentalist.

The music is clearly being played live whether it's Madonna singing or not. I'm pretty sure the song isn't Carnaval de São Vicente either - entirely different chords.

  2. It actually does sound quite like her right in the beginning...

If there is a documentary coming, this has got to be it. Some shots make me think the concept may be similar to Bitch I'm Madonna where the camera follows her through each room/space with different setups, people and songs in each location.

  3. I'd pick the awards option. Looking back on her legacy in years to come, it would be a huge achievement to have a critically acclaimed album after 14 years worth of (debatable) misfires. Rather than the last few albums of her career all being somewhat underwhelming to non-fans.

I actually think her only chance at big commercial success is with a 'critical acclaim' type album. Typical commercial music by Madonna in 2019 will not sell.

I have a feeling that Magic will be that album

speak to yourself, LAP was done in a day.

When I say perfecting details, I mean production, vocals, mastering (maybe even the sequencing thing they did for Confessions) - and that's for the whole album, not just one song.

It can take hours or it can take months... nothing really to do with the quality of the music or ability of the artist.

Especially with how intricate Mirwais' production is, I wouldn't be surprised that it takes that bit longer.

    Some weird deludinoid

    Perfect word for it

"A person that refuses to see the obviousness of the current situation, usually because they are mentally heavily invested in what used to be true."

That account has already been proven to be fake, if it wasn't already obvious enough... I don't know why anyone is still sharing their posts.

I wonder if she wasn’t happy with the results so she scrapped the Starrah/Billboard/Mirwais collabs and is starting anew....she did that with Babyface and Patrick Leonard before doing Ray of Light with Orbit, and with Mirwais before doing Confessions on a Dance floor with Stuart price. Both turned out to be amazing, inspired albums so if this theory is true, then hopefully we are in for another major artistic achievement!

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case

But whatever it is, she could've easily pulled an MDNA and worked on 12 already-existing demos and just pushed it out early this year.

Madonna is very rarely lazy, the delay has got to be a result of perfecting every detail of the album - which is what we've been needing from her since MDNA.

To assume this and take it for granted at this stage of her career would absolutely and unequivocally be the biggest fucking possible mistake Madonna could make. The hardcore fans, quite frankly, are the only ones that truly give a shit anymore and the numbers of them are dwindling. Showing disregard for her hardcore fans  would totally spell the end of the road. Stupid.

Absolutely. I was talking more about the fans, like on here, who are actively waiting for the album day-to-day. We may be sick of hearing nothing but that will disappear the minute the campaign starts. I'm sure everyone here will be buying the album regardless of how bored we are now.

The numbers are definitely dwindling but if it's due to impatience, there's still a good chance that those numbers will come back when the album is there.

I respect and love her, obviously, but this feels like its turning into a problem. Its indicative of how wrong her and her team have got things for the last ten years. In the old days you'd announce an album two months, maybe three before, sometimes less, so theres a burst of excitement which builds to release. She's been live instagramming sessions etc so the excitement built and yet theres no product. Its even been reported in papers etc that theres a new album, a (probably wrong) track list etc and this was all months ago. The excitement is starting to dissipate. If they leave it much longer it will be a disaster. We even know themes and artists she's worked with but no idea when there will be a record. Its part of the same patter with RH. In future they shouldn't say anything until six weeks before, punch and punch and punch to build up excitement and make it an event. Its losing momentum

That may all be shit but im frustrated!!

It's only really the hardcore fans that are losing their patience - and it's the hardcore fans that will buy the album regardless.

As far as hype and excitement, the only concern in with the general public - and with Madonna keeping a low profile (other than the Met Gala and VMAs appearances) there is basically no hype at all for M14 from the general public.

Plus, if she is indeed planning a surprise release or quick announcement-album roll out, it's in her best interest to wait until people are least expecting it. Which will undoubtedly bring her the biggest hype/anticipation/general public interest since probably the Superbowl.

What if "Beautiful Game" was the album's title ?

I think this could be the case too.

I strongly doubt its the lead single - there's no way a label would let so much of the song be premiered in May and it still not be released 4 months later. The fact that she's referenced Beautiful Game a few times makes me think it will have a significant place on the album, maybe as the intro or outro to the album.

I'd love the idea of a concept album that starts with addressing the state of the world/society, possibly political, being a rebel etc, (Beautiful Game) into escapism themes (Confessions style, 'disco god') which also could explain the Starrah connection (escapism can mean light pop music) then into the more introspective/experimental tracks with a spiritual/tribal theme ('Magic', Portugal influence).

Preferably sequenced/blended like Confessions was... all with a visual album too, thanks!

The 1500 is in the UK and its for single sales not albums. In the US every 10 plays of songs off an album counts as a sale. (Whether its from one song or multiple)

but yes you are right buy physical and then stream off Spotify, Tidal, or Apple Music

''1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams from the album count as 1 Unit for certification purposes.''

Not sure if it's changed recently, but this is my source...

    http://www.riaa.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/ALBUM-AWARD-RIAA-AND-GRF-CERTIFICATION-AUDIT-REQUIREMENTS.pdf

Having said that I'd be quite pleased if it is indeed 10 streams = 1 album sale

  11. Physical is more effective anyway..  It apparently takes 1,500 Spotify streams to count as 1 album sale, while buying the physical album is already 1 sale on its own.

I think the best way is to buy the album but listen to it via Spotify or whatever streaming service you use
